Mushroom Gorge is way better than #71. I love playing on it and i love all the shortcuts. Imo it's a top 10 track. Mount Wario is also a super good track.

There are only a few tracks I consider bad: 216-212. Mediocre probably lasts to 162. Everything after that is pretty good, and I'd probably consider all the top 100 to be great. Hope you managed to get your essay done :D
As part of the(arguably small) Banshee Boardwalk fandom, I was kind of ready to see both it & its remake put VERY low on the list, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it reach as high as the 50's.

Guys. The reason tracks like Koopa Cape are so low is because with so many great tracks, some of them have to sit lower on the list. He said it himself! Edit: this comment I made was interesting as Koopa cape is now my favorite Wii track and my 4th favorite overall.
My personal favorite tracks are all from Wii, and my favorite that isn’t a Rainbow Road is DK Summit. Reeeally wish it was a bit higher, but I can’t change your opinions.
i don't know, but i feel like this wasn't really necessary. *major* props for getting high quality footage for every single track, but it doesn't seem like you really rearranged the rankings in any way (correct me if i'm wrong), so we already knew your rankings from the start.
I only moved Banshee Boardwalk down as its position in the retro ranking felt out of place as the N64 and DS versions are pretty much the same. But that is a fair point. This video is made more for people who don't care about the commentary or wanted to see where the retro tracks stack up compared to the nitro tracks. Plus, this is now a master list of sorts, and it's something I plan to make use of for future videos.

Where did you buy all the consoles? 4. How did you screen record a TV? 5. How did you screen record a DS? 6. How did you screen record a 3DS? 7. How long did it take to record gameplay of all 216 courses? 8. How long did it take to even rank all 216 tracks? 9. How long did it take to edit on top of everything else?
1. Yep 2 & 3. All bought over time. Most were bought when they came out and have been kept since. 4. With a capture card. I use an Elgato HD60S 5 & 6. I use a modded 3DS that can send a video signal to a PC. (These are getting really hard to come by now.) 7. Probably 3/4 days. 8. Not too long with the system I had in place. I ranked all the tracks from each individual game, then wrote out the best and worst of each game, comparing them to each other. Then I went up and down the list until it was done. 9. A couple days of doing nothing but editing.
jamiethepayne Thank you. But I have one more question even though you are probably long gone. Would you still put MK8’s Ribbon Road at #1 even for someone like me who doesn’t understand all the references around the course? If not, which track would you replace the #1 spot with it?
@@zacharyyoung3674 Well, my whole list is my own personal preference anyway, and I still think the scenery of ribbon road is gorgeous even if you don't get the references. Failing that though, Rainbow Road 3DS is an amazing course that absolutely anyone can appreciate and enjoy.
You are missing the 20 retro tracks from Mario Kart: Super Circuit so can't really claim it's EVERY track from the main games. Also with the Booster Course Pass, Nintendo confirmed that Tour is a main series game, so all those tracks (new and retro) need to be included, too. (So a new video in 2024 perhaps?)

I really appreciate the sheer amount of work and effort this took but ohmylord some of these placements... like I get it’s from a casual standpoint but wow. press F to pay respects to the Delfino Squares. DS one should be waaay up there and the Wii version should honestly be top 20. And just putting half the retros right next to their original versions seems super lame to me. Like 3DS Maple Treeway is undeniably worse than the Wii version, and the Wii DK Mountain is undeniable worse than the original GCN version. Koopa Capes too. Ribbon Road at 1st is just too... weird a decision for me to remark on so I’ll let you have it. also MK7’s Rainbow Road is garbage lol. There was more but those are the biggest ones to me. still, congrats on compiling something so huge. i cant even imagine the amount of time this took.
I feel like several of the retros barely changed, like music park in mk8, for example. He has also said that he considers everything in the top 100 to be great, so after 100, it's really small improvements each time.
For the next mario kart they should offer loads of different retro tracks as dlc, so that you can get to play whatever your favourite tracks were from the previous games. They could even offer them as bundles by console. Imagine how many people would pick up wii or ds ones simply because so many people played those games and have nostalgia for those tracks.
Or they can just make a Mario Kart Ultimate with every Mario Kart track ever made. But they also shouldn’t ruin them by making it impossible to fall off.

Sorry, but Mario kart 8 actually had the balls to make retro tracks blend with the new tracks more. DS WII and 7 all just looked like copy paste with updated textures

I really appreciate the sheer amount of work and effort this took but ohmylord some of these placements... like I get it’s from a casual standpoint but wow. press F to pay respects to the Delfino Squares. DS one should be waaay up there and the Wii version should honestly be top 20. And just putting half the retros right next to their original versions seems super lame to me. Like 3DS Maple Treeway is undeniably worse than the Wii version, and the Wii DK Mountain is undeniable worse than the original GCN version. Koopa Capes too. Ribbon Road at 1st is just too... weird a decision for me to remark on so I’ll let you have it. also MK7’s Rainbow Road is garbage lol. There was more but those are the biggest ones to me. still, congrats on compiling something so huge. i cant even imagine the amount of time this took.
I feel like several of the retros barely changed, like music park in mk8, for example. He has also said that he considers everything in the top 100 to be great, so after 100, it's really small improvements each time.

I was kind of hoping that this video would have commentary explaining why things were on the list.
He made 2 other lists doing just that with both original and retro courses.
For the next mario kart they should offer loads of different retro tracks as dlc, so that you can get to play whatever your favourite tracks were from the previous games. They could even offer them as bundles by console. Imagine how many people would pick up wii or ds ones simply because so many people played those games and have nostalgia for those tracks.
Or they can just make a Mario Kart Ultimate with every Mario Kart track ever made. But they also shouldn’t ruin them by making it impossible to fall off.
