  • The Kia Niro EV is the perfect electric vehicle for somebody who wants an EV but doesnt want to feel like they are driving around in a space ship and deal with a big learning curve. In the thought the Niro EV is 100$ electric, the functionality is not that much different than a gas powered one. When fully charged you have a range close to 240 miles and with DC fast charging you can get up to an 80% charge in about an hour. With 220 service at your house you can get a full charge in about 9 hours, so you plug it in when you get home and you will have a full charge in the morning.

Thanks for the video. I bought a 2021 kia Niro used and I love it. Really nice car. One issue is the tax credit - despite qualifying (my income, 2021 EV, 12,000 miles, under 25k, single previous owner, etc) the VIN was rejected from the IRS portal at the dealership. No one you can contact about it, but I did sit in on an IRS / dealer webinar and they suggested Kia and Hyundai manufacturers "didn't forward the VIN numbers to the IRS". Is this something that all other manufacturers do for used cars, or is this something they do for new cars that qualify for the new credit (Chevy, Tesla etc) and then those VIN numbers are on file for people buying them used? Have you actually had success with the rebate for a Kia this year through the IRS portal?

Since the tax credit changed Jan 1 2024 the process is a little different. We are supposed to register for the tax credit with the customer at the time of sale. For 2023, for used cars, the dealership who sold the used vehicle to you needed to report it to the IRS to qualify for the rebate. You need to contact that dealership you bought it from and they need to report the sale to the IRS. Our office is doing this for our 2023 sales. The Gov did not really a do a good job communicating this to dealerships.

@@infinitioftacoma1 I purchased it this year in January 2024. In 2024 dealers put the VIN into the IRS portal at time of purchase. That is what Kias and Hyundais are being rejected from.
