    Thanks for the update! I've watched all of your Bolt EUV videos as research. I just picked up a 2023 Bolt EUV last week and it's been a great experience so far. I'd love a Redline badge for my EUV!

    I love my trunk liner for my Equinox. It is the one that also attaches to and goes up the seat backs. I was sceptical of the material when I picked it up from my dealer but it has made loading and cleaning the rear area so easy. Also is protecting the carpet.
    GM loves the LRR tires for EVs for better range. But I replaced my Volt tires with standard tires for Chicago winters and never really noticed too much of a range decrease.
    I’m in Orlando now and we just got the Equinox EV in the Epcot GM showroom. It looks so much better in person.
    As for Tesla, I will never own another. I waited a few years to buy my Model 3. loved my stereo, autopilot, and the seats were the best seats I’ve ever had in a car. But I spent so much time at the Service Center that they made a joke one day that my car spent more time with them than with me. And that’s not a joke you should be making when your car was the premier mass market EV. I know they were trying to lighten the mood but that never sat well with me.

    Just picked up a 23 Bolt EV, seats are definitely a little stiff, even the leather ones, but putting a folded blanket down mostly solves the issue for me thankfully. Thanks for your videos. Will be looking out for these issues (also going to go easy on the hatchback handle hehe)

    Congrats on 3 years! I'm cheap so I would buyout the Bolt's lease and wait a couple years for the Equinox or Blazer to get sorted. As far as channel content, the Model Y seems like a no-brainer.

    I’ve driven a bolt EUV premier for 13 months now, I’ve put 28,000 miles on it, and one month ago I got the model y as a second car. The model y has so much more space than the bolt, but it’s also a bigger car, it feels more stable on the road and the seats feel more comfortable and charges faster on superchargers. But I miss the bolt’s 360 parking assist, ventilated seats and digital view mirror, even though those features on the bolt are not perfect, they’re soo much better than the Tesla. I’d still take the Tesla due to its vast amounts of space and fast charging.

    • @MetzTech
      @MetzTech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s so strange that Tesla doesn’t do a 360° view. The cameras are all already there, it would just be a software thing. The pro there is that they could always add that later while legacy manufacturers just can’t do that.

    • @obedespinoza4185
      @obedespinoza4185 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MetzTech I think the issue is they don’t have a front bumper camera so they can’t see towards the front accurately, at least in the non highland refresh models, but maybe they can improve their software for 3D reconstruction parking assist enough to become something we can rely on

    • @MetzTech
      @MetzTech  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s true they don’t, but there are 3 cameras facing forward. So you would think they could do something

    Dang, I just picked up an EUV Premier the other week, in particular after watching a bunch of your videos covering the car. Already got 1700mi on it after 2 weeks of road tripping and driving all over. Absolutely love the thing, despite getting unlucky with the transmission pump failure showing up in newer models, and fully intend to drive it until it will no longer drive. Especially enjoying the premier features tbh. I was originally going to go redline, but the dealerships with them didn't implement the new tax credit systems so I ended up going for a normal one, which actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise! I got a decent deal, and it turns out I love the silver flare I got. All the redlines nearby were flat white(wasn't a fan in person) or black(california sun would kill me). The black/blue interior has also grown on me a lot, and I think I like it more than the flat black I would've had in a redline. Although the red/black badges would be a very nice fit on the silver if you have spares or know where to get em 👀
    Thanks for all the info you've put up about the EUV! Hope you enjoy whatever you end up in next.

    The power door locks have been a major issue for me on all of my previous GM vehicles over the last 20 years now. Multiple doors failed on each by 50,000 miles. Our 19 Volt has had 3 of the 4 doors fail by 50,000 miles. I'm annoyed the Bolt has this issue too. Wish GM would get this right. Love the Bolt EUV otherwise, it's been a fantastic vehicle. I have 23K miles on mine and just past 2 years exactly as of today actually.

    Not a fanboy of Tesla, don’t like the speedo in the center of the car, and not a fan of comrade Elon. I have a 2023 Nissan Ariya Venture +. 304 epa miles, I get about ~340. I preorder my for $46.9K plus the $7.5K tax credit. I think they have good lease deals now, but I would get the Venture + fwd with the extra range. I am interested in the Equinox EV in the 1LT or 2LT models in about 18 months. 319 epa miles sound really sweet and can’t wait to test drive one!

    I got my Bolt EUV in January 2023 so now it’s been over a year and over 6000 miles. All of my driving is within 100 miles and most within 30. I charge up every few days for a few hours and I often charge to 100%. I have leased Hondas; Accords, Civics, CRV’s and even a Prelude and an Odyssey over the past 45 years. They are great cars. This was my First Chevy and it is the best car I’ve ever had. Quick, quiet and comfortable. It’s been completely reliable and with no maintenance. We still have our 2021 Honda CRV Hybrid which again, is a great car But I never drive it. I mean, we still do drive it to Charlotte, about 100 miles away, in part because we can pack more, it rides higher and of course no range anxiety. We’re at the end of that lease which has always been a welcomed cycle and time to go get a new Honda but this time is much different…. So like you, I am debating what car to get next. Test driving is the most fun part of getting a new car so I’m test driving everything… everything electric. I’m completely sold on EV’s I never had a nicer, more fun car to drive. My best friends had Chevy classics growing up but I never did. To get a Chevy EV was a huge leap but turned out to be a good one. I like the OnStar feeling. I haven’t needed to use them at all but I called just to see what they do. They were able to ‘see’ my car and would provide roadside assistance if ever needed. It was a pleasant experience. So I’ve test driven the Blazer, the Lyric, I would like to try the Equinox and or the new caddy EV when it comes out. I’ve also tried the Volvo, the Mercedes, the Nissan Ariya and the Kia EV6. They were all nice. Size and style wise we might consider the Volvo. Two features I’m looking for are extended range of 300 plus and vehicle to home charging ability. We want to get down to one car so I’m strongly considering just selling the CRV but I also want to try the Prologue which should be out in a couple months. They would probably offer a better trade in than a sell price so I just extended my lease which gives me some options. Like leasing the Prologue and selling the Bolt at the end of its lease. These are all first world problems as you pointed out. We have reached an age where hey, this could be our last car so get the one you really really want. So we’ll see. In the meantime I really appreciate your real world experience videos. You do a great job and best of luck to you!

    Great video! I too will be coming up to the end of the lease on my Tacoma. I want to go electric, and I don't need a truck anymore. I'm paying $290 a month right now so I am not sure what to do. I am pumped you are getting a Model 3! I very much want to know if you are leasing and how you navigated the money down and such. The configurator online from Tesla is pretty bad as far as the actual price from my research. I went to a Tesla showroom to ask about the $399 Model Y lease, and they said I would need $5900 up front after all said and done. I never put money down on my leases. I'm looking forward to your future videos!

    I love my 2022 bolt euv premier …. Took it to the dealer for updates and it gave me the 80% limit you mentioned but the dealer did not tell me that it did that … I was freaked and had them check it for 2 weeks to make sure the battery was good … after 2 weeks they said it was great … I go 3k a month on it so 2 months now and I will know if that software update is true … the stock tires were worn down at 50k miles .. replaced with some firestone model … a bit quieter and 80k warranty and a bit cheaper than chevy stock tires … I think I will replace this car with the next bolt euv ultimium edition… we love it (adjust wish it would still have CarPlay ) I appreciate your videos … thanks

    I’ve got a 2022 Bolt EUV that was built after the battery fix, so I never had limited charging. I can get close to 300 miles on a full charge in the summer, down to the 180 range when it’s really cold. Anytime the temps get into the 40s or below, you see the range dip. I’ve got 52,000 miles on mine and just replaced the original tires. The OEM tires have limited traction when new, and it just gets worse over time. Other than a loose occupant sensor connector in the drivers seat I haven’t had any warranty repairs. So far the Bolt EUV has been a tough little car. Mine definitely gets used hard for full time Uber. It’s also done Home Depot runs, carried furniture, etc. my biggest gripe is the suspension. Somehow it is both harsh and soft. Potholes crash through the whole car, and it is easy to bottom out over speed bumps. Also, the factory wiper blades barely lasted a year before they started stuttering across the windshield (I had the same set of wiper blades on my 2017 Chevy Cruze for 5 YEARS). Overall I love the Bolt EUV. It’s a way better vehicle than my old Cruze. I’ll be keeping it until the battery dies

    So, my Subaru Forester finally kicked the can after 200k. After watching your content and some others, I went with a 2023 EUV. I wanted to wait for the Equinox EV, but I’m not convinced it will be $35k since dealers will probably mark it up, and I need a car now. (My Subaru was hemorrhaging oil and it needed about $3k of work).
    I’m digging my EUV. Base model with a few added features, was only like $22k after the $7500 tax credit taken off at the dealership.
    The interior is a little smaller in terms of width compared to my Subaru, but WAY more leg room. So far I’m pretty happy with it.

    Ioniq 5 is the move. I had a Bolt and went into the Ioniq 5, and most of the issues with the Bolt are solved with the Ioniq 5. Especially the tires/ride.

      I would look at the battery issues a few Canadians are having before touching a Hyundai EV. If you get a scratch on the battery protector, it voids the warranty apparently and they make you buy a whole new battery which costs more than the vehicle.

    • @BowlerActuary
      @BowlerActuary 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@halifaxstar this is why the news isn’t the end-all, be-all.
      If you watch these stories very carefully, the instances of this were when the car ran over something substantial and bent the casing of the battery cover, damaging other components in the process. Yes, the warranty is voided because running over something does not constitute a defect in workmanship as prescribed in a warranty. You have heard of this happen what, twice altogether?
      Same thing for many other EVs. It is fair that they should work on a stronger casing… but if you don’t run over something quite large in the road, this is never going to be an issue.

    • @BowlerActuary
      @BowlerActuary 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MetzTech also keep in mind:
      - Build quality in the Ioniq 5 is far superb.
      - Ride quality is far better
      - if you choose AWD, power between that and long range AWD is very similar.
      - personally, the Model 3 is boring and kinda meh in design and the Ioniq 5 is one of the best-looking cars on the road.
      - Way better warranty for Hyundai

    but enjoy supercruise is nice but took Tesla Y out so much better and safer

    I rented a 2023 model 3 for a week, very uncomfortable. Sits very low to the ground and the B pillar is located weird, as well as the roof line very low. My wife and I both feel our 2023 Bolt 1LT is more comfortable. The model Y however, a whole different story. That’s the one to go with. Stay safe and God bless.

    I had a 2023 Model 3 that I paid cash for, and I had been using EVs from 2015-2020.
    A couple months ago I sold it and bought a 2024 Kona Limited AWD.
    I honestly would just recommend getting a hybrid or even a 2024 Hyundai Elantra that can do like 50mpg easy.
    I road tripped a lot during my Tesla and that's what finally pushed me away from EVs for now. I will stick to PHEV or Hybrids into the future because the car companies seem confused about what consumers want. Maybe if the new Bolt will be affordable to the masses and not a massive SUV, it would seem the market would be moving in the right direction. But as of right now, companies are starting to shift towards PHEV and Hybrids in the near future. Just a consideration seeing how cheap a VERY efficient 2024 Hyundai Elantra is.

    Hey Metz, I don't know what to call you, you never say your name!. Anyway Hi, truly enjoy your videos. In your last one thinking what to get after the bolt I feel you, I was almost in the same situation. The Equinox EV has too many open questions like is it going to have the same issues as the Blazer EV, higher price, software issues!, its better to let those teething problems work out. The Hyundai is an excellent choice, since your not a speed demon and high millage guy, the standard battery is more than enough and Hyundai is throwing the equivalent of the tax credit. The Teslas are always an excellent choice , their so far ahead everybody else, but here is a word of caution from a Tesla Owner. I have a Model Y Dual Motor with the new batteries , its my second Tesla the first one being the model 3. I've had it for a year, and no issues whatsoever, apart from the crazy wipers!. But I've soared with it lately. My insurance has kept increasing every renewal , I live in South Florida and thats part of it, but the latest increase was $600. Is costing me $1888 every 6 months and my agent tells me its one if the best rates. I'm sure you can get a lower rate in your state. Tesla applies the $7500 credit monthly if you lease it, but still have to put almost $6,000 down with the down payment and fees and taxes. So on that note I was trying to get rid of it and getting something cheaper. After doing a little research VW is offering great deals on the ID4, since you did a video on it you know is a great alternative. I found a Pro S plus AWD on a $408 a month lease. Almost $11,000 incentives. By the way I love my Tesla but the cost is making me look elsewhere. So check it out, you can probably get a better deal at your VW dealer!. Good luck.

    You mentioned that you're not ever going back to ICE vehicles. Could you go into more detail about why this is the case for you? Or possibly point me to a video where you've discussed this in the past? I've heard this same thing in so many videos of people who try EV's. But it's rare that any of them go into specifics. I'm looking to possibly buying/leasing an EV, and I'm trying to get some real world data.

    For the charging network alone, Tesla might have to be the choice. I'm hoping GM will come out with a 3rd row EV option that isn't ridiculously expensive in the next few years, like a Traverse.

    Our low-miles 2022 Bolt-loaded EUV (say for SC) is a great car. And frankly, I thought it would morph into an Equinox EV. But after the devastating reviews on the Blazer and the huge price increase on the Equinox, I've decided that it's time for Chevy and me to break up! I think Volvo is going in the correct direction and as such I've put down a $500 deposit on an EX30. I'll drive the EUV till whenever the EX30 hits Ohio. Regarding the Teslas I simply want something a bit different and I think Elon doesn't need any of my money...

      @@bck0001 That's funny, everyone said the same thing about Japanese cars in the 70's... Meanwhile, you most likely have a Chinese Phone in your pocket right now and a Chinese TV in your living room. In my opinion, if we can't build a good affordable EV the buyers will certainly go where they can buy one. Where's the Tesla Model 2, why kill the Bolt and sell $110.000 Hummers instead... Our car companies are making terrible decisions!!

    I have owned a 2017, 2020, and currently a 2023 Bolt EUV Redline Edition that I use for my Uber business. I also have owned a 2020 Model Y Long-Range, a 2021 Model Y Performance, and currently a 2 months old 2023 Model S Long-Range. I therefore believe that I have a little bit of knowledge of a decent EV for the money. I believe that with your preference of an SUV, the Model Y Long-Range is an excellent option for you. If you can find one in stock right now, It can cost you around 39000 dollars after the 7500 tax deductions, which you can use at the point of sale. You can't beat the Tesla charging network, and remember that the Model Y Long-Range comes with an 8 year and a 120000 mile warranty on the battery, and a 4 years and 50000 mile bumper to bumper warranty on everything else. I have traveled to 6 different states without a single charging incident. You will also love the fast charging speed. The current Model Y Long-Range is also a much more comfortable car than when they were first made. Good luck with your choice

However, I make videos all across TH-cam on tons of different vehicles and never say anything that isn’t my honest opinion, if I don’t like something I’ll say it. Idc who I work for. That’s how I do it here. Everything said in this video is also my honest opinion. I don’t make a dime from Chevy the brand.
