OMG! I was just watching a TV show when the cocktail 'mint julep' was mentioned and it reminded me of these fabulous singers I enjoyed seeing live many times live in the late 1980s.
I don't care it's 2020 yes these songs bring back so many memories. I remember back in the early 90's I had the cassette tape which included many acapella groups and they were one of them.
I saw this special on PBS when I was 15 years old. I watched mostly for Rockapella but really enjoyed Mint Julleps more! I'm going to share this with a dear friend!
Between 1984-1986 I saw them many times in Covent Garden (Street artists, buskers) and I think they even won a Covent Garden Street Performers Festival (not only musicians). A few years later I saw them, in Italy, as Back vocals of a famous (in Italy) songwriter, Antonello Venditti
This special made me a life-long Rockapella fan. And they got better and better after Spike. But God Almighty, this is the standout performance of the event.
My parents played this a ton when I was a kid. It is such a wonderful thing to find this group on TH-cam!!! It reminds me of being a kid in the early 2000s and the nostalgia is overwhelming. Thank you for uploading this!!

They were fantastic, and later joined FYC for several songs. I don't think they had an album at the time, and of course it was long before itunes or youtube, so you saw them live or nowhere. So delighted to find this clip today after a random conversation!

Jackie Wilson is the first to come to mind. The movie was I think, "Johnny Be Good." But remember, I was in the second or third grade. I do remember Chuck Berry doing the "duck-walk." On Friday afternoons, the local TV station had a show called Teen-Time Dance Party. It was geared more toward "The In Crowd." Little kids, like me, weren't even supposed to watch!! What a Time. Never thought those days would end.
