  • So for today's video, we will be comparing both 24FPS vs 60FPS and find out which is the best framerate for motovlogging!
    Applicable to GoPro Hero 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10!
I REPEAT, FOR MOTOVLOGGING. NOT TRAVEL VIDEOS, NOT GAMING VIDEOS, NOT CINEMATIC VIDEOS, NOT WEDDING VIDEOS, NOT DRONE VIDEOS,
    JUST MOTOVLOGGING.
Hi guys! At 1:24, you might notice I said I chose 1080p. That's because most people can't handle editing videos with higher resolutions.
I myself don't use 1080p, but for this video, that's the resolution I chose. 1080p will still look good when viewed on phones if anyone's wondering. If you're trying to get the highest possible quality out of the 1080p resolution, when rendering it, upscaling it to 1440p or even 4k so the codec used on youtube will be the one with the higher quality output. 😄
Sidenote: If your phone or computer can handle editing 4k videos and you have all the storage space in the world to store them, by all means, go for it! 😄
Hit that like and subscribe button if you like it because there's more to come!
    As always, Don't Hate, Appreciate!

READ THIS BEFORE COMMENTING and saying how this video should have been exported to 60fps and not in 24fps. 🤦‍♂️
I have explained this countless times and honestly am sick of replying over and over again with the exact same explanations, then end up having the comment being deleted because they could not handle they were wrong.
    1) THIS IS FOR MOTOVLOGGING. If you're not into motovlogging, leave. This is not the video for you.
    2) Watch this video as to how it looks like placing a 24fps video in a 60fps timeline.
Skip all the way to 11:35 and get back to this.
    th-cam.com/video/qAVfIQ2G7Io/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nqBzKS6LQyG-I9XU
24FPS videos in a 60fps timeline looks like shit because of all those extra spaces in between frames.
Thus, the reason why this video is in 24fps and not 60.
    3) 60FPS videos are mainly meant to be slowed down by placing them in a 24fps timeline. Nobody in the film industry ever shoots 60fps and exports in 60fps.
    Unless.
The main purpose is for gaming videos for super detailed frame by frame shots or 2D/3D animations to get that unnatural buttery smooth look. Sometimes it even works with drone shots as well.
Shooting in 60FPS and exporting them in 60FPS for vlogs does not make sense and looks like shit.
    4) This video is NOT a general "how-to" tutorial of what framerate you should use. This just shows example videos of how different framerates affect the GoPro's recording time, bettery life, memory card space, motion blur, slow motion capabilities, night shoot capabilities, and so more which I'm pretty sure you haven't thought about.
    5) If you still think you're still right after all those, alright. You're the expert.

I only have one doubt, if I shoot in 60fps with 1/120 shutter speed to make it less jiggery and edit and export into 24fps will the cinematic smoothness still remain? (considering the use of the ND filter when necessary)

Nung wala pa akong nd filter noon, naka auto lang din ako. Yun lang, medyo masakit para sa eyes ko dahil makikita ko na jittery yung footage dahil always changing yung shutter speed depende sa brightness ng environment.
In the end, personal preference talaga. Ako kasi at halos lahat kami sa film industry, makikita namin lahat ng shutter speed changes kapag naka auto iso yung footage at nag aactivate OCD namin haha 😅

    • @EdVentures94
      @EdVentures94  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For the 999th time.
60fps videos uploaded to youtube are ONLY for gaming videos OR videos where you absolutely NEED attention to detail and where EVERY FRAME COUNTS like 3D animations.
People shoot in 60fps or highter TO.SLOW.THE.FOOTAGE.DOWN. by placing it in a 24/30fps timeline.
No proper vlogger or filmmaker exports their final youtube videos in 60fps.
Even every other 24vs30vs60vs120fps compasion videos out there are not uploaded in 60fps or 120fps. 🤦‍♂️
PLACING A 24FPS VIDEO IN A 60FPS TIMELINE MAKES THE FOOTAGE UNUSABLE.
      ALSO.
THIS VIDEO IS TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE OTHER DIFFERENCES IT CAN CAUSE THE GOPRO WHILE IT'S RECORDING.
      LIKE BATTERY TIME.
      RECORDING TIME.
      MOTION BLUR.
      AND MANY MORE.

lol it doesnt seem you exported the video in 60fps, on the resolution changer it just says 1080p or 1440p, not 1080p60 or 1440p60

    • @EdVentures94
      @EdVentures94  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Presenting a 24frames per second video exported in a 60frames per second format means it will have missing 36 missing frames and will make the video shitty.
Check out other 24fps vs 60fps or even vs 120fps videos made by famous filmmaker youtubers and not gamers. They're all exported in 24fps.
The true purpose of a 60fps video is to slow it down in post by placing it in a 24fps timeline. That's what creates the slow motion effect which other motovloggers like doing in their videos.
The only reason why videos should be exported to 60frames per second is when you need the extra frames for details like first person shooter games (warzone/pubg/fortnite etc.) or other games while trying to watch it in real time.

so kpag nag filming ka sa gopro ng 24fps kpag mag export po kayo? ano un fps and resolution dpat?

    • @EdVentures94
      @EdVentures94  ปีที่แล้ว

For me, 24fps at 4k resolution export settings ko po.
24fps or 30fps is good and natural sa eyes which is why lahat ng movies/tvshows are exported sa 24/30fps and never in 60fps and above. :)

Funny. First off, this IS after all, a comparison video.
Watch these other 24fps vs 60fps vs 120fps videos and see what their export setting for their framerate is, and come back to me.

Oh wait. You don't listen to advice by "youtubers" (who most have been in the wedding/film industry and definitely know what they're talking about and also have 10000x more subs than you) so it's probably meaningless then. 🤔
Anyways, imagine placing a 24fps video in a 60fps timeline lol.
It will create extra 30 frames of blank images in between and you can't compare them properly since obviously the footage won't be usable.
Watch this video down below and skip all the way to 11:37 for reference so you'd see what I mean and why nobody in their right mind would ever place 24fps videos in a 60fps timeline for a comparison video.
      th-cam.com/video/qAVfIQ2G7Io/w-d-xo.html
Done watching it? Or did you not watch it because you're too good to do so? Alrighty then, you're the FPS guru.
      "Why even bother?" LOL.
Not everyone is tech savvy and a master at filmmaking like you and has ideas on what settings to choose for what reason and how it affects everything else.
The main point of placing this 60fps video in this 24fps timeline and comparing them both is to show how it affects all the other settings like
      1) exposure of the video,
      2) battery usage,
      3) how it fares in low light,
      4) the difference in file sizes,
      5) the fact you can slow 60fps videos down, etc.
Yes, if you watched the entire video, I DID include a comparison slowing 60fps clip down and compare it with the 24FPS clip to present the true purpose of how 60fps videos SHOULD be used. Some people into motovlogging like showing slow motion videos from time to time then revert back to normal speed.
Also, it literally states in the title and thumbnail that this video is for MOTOVLOGGING. People motovlog continuously for hours with their gopros. Both night and day. Exposure is important. Battery life is important. Storage is important. SD card write speed is important.
Have you ever thought about that? Or did you just focus on how I didn't export this video in 60fps?
Once again, This. Is. For. Motovlogging.
NOT for gaming videos where 60fps is needed for the whole entire video to see the tiniest movements of players and their opponents and NOT for FPV drone videos like you do where you want fluid motion all throughtout the video.
Oh, and quick sidenote, and I've been flying drones for a decade and fpv for a couple years now so I absolutely know what you're talking about. Recording in 60fps, exporting and uploading on youtube as is.
But unlike you, I don't export in 60fps because I include them on weddings, real estate videos, travel tourism videos, and more. All those need 24fps timeslines. Not 60fps.
I've yet to know anyone in the film industry that films 60fps and exports the whole video all in 60fps. Lol.
TLDR: check the title and see what this video is truly about.
