I am watching from Bhutan and I can say that Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is the real deal. We have many male teachers nowadays who are very very materialistic with wives and children and mistresses and making lot of money and enjoying and living very worldly lives who never pratice and meditate even for a month . I would choose Someone like her who has actually meditated in a cave and practiced the theory as my teacher anyway from the many fake male teachers these days just doing it for the fame and money . Thank you for all that you have done for the Dharma Jetsunma and for speaking out against the discrimination of women and especially nuns in the Tibetan system . Thank you for standing up for women and our spiritual potential ❤️

I, for one, cannot wrap my mind around how a person who gives birth to man can be deemed lower than man. It makes absolutely no sense. The woman is the creative force and is necessary to continue this human experience. I deeply respect Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo for her life work. It is ushering in a much needed paradigm shift.

Buddhism is Patriarchal. All religion is Patriarchal. Buddhist nuns in Thailand must become a Nun outside of Thailand. Thai Buddhism does not allow a woman to be a Nun. They can stay and serve in the few monastery’s for women.

Agree. Why are monks doing that? What i got from this film is that the monks "prevent" nuns from becoming Buddha and perhaps because of a Tibetan writing describing women as unclean. This treatment of text>extensive application of viewing all women ever born based on a man's written description of a woman has impeded humanity's development via exclusivity in more than one culture or country. Just Sad.

I strongly advise anyone NOT to watch this video!. I am an English Buddhist monk who hosts a Facebook page devoted exclusively to promoting the Lord Buddha's Dhamma. Last week I posted this video as I thought it would be inspirational and motivating for those interested. However, yesterday I received notification, from FaceBook that the entire video had been taken down for 'Copyright' reasons. My conclusion is that Tenzin Palmo does not want to share her experiences unless she receives financial compensation for so doing. Such an attitude flies in
the face of the Lord Buddha's Dhamma. What then has this woman learned in all her years spent as a Buddhist nun? Apparently very little if anything at all!

The universe has used her body as a vessel to communicate with the 🌎 about the life's struggles of a women monks & all the pain & suffering nuns went through in history of Tibet. She had to choose between to go in retreat again or do what she's doing now , she chose the harder path to travel around and help the women monks . By nature she's an enlightened being who wants nothing from the world but to be left alone in peace. She is a blessing for Buddhist nuns to break the barriers for them.😇

I strongly advise anyone NOT to watch her video!. I am an English Buddhist monk who hosts a Facebook page devoted exclusively to promoting the Lord Buddha's Dhamma. Last week I posted one of her video as I thought it would be inspirational and motivsting for those interested. However, yesterday I received notification, from FaceBook that the entire video had been taken down for 'Copyright' reasons. My conclusion is that Tenzin Palmo does not want to share her experiences unless she receives financial compensation for so doing. Such an attitude flies in the face of the Lord Buddha's Dhamma. What then has this woman learned in all her years spent as a Buddhist nun? Apparently very little if anything at all!

So, Things Have Changed, in Dylan's words... Thanks Jetsunma, You R Pure Light.

If you are a serious about spiritual practice you would choose to be reborn male. If you’re female you haven’t done the same amount of practice in past lives that a male has. Also, there are no victims in Buddhism. The principal barrier to liberation for a woman is the clinging to her female identity.

@Maria Kelly Pure awareness is non-dualistic and transcends concepts such as male and female. If you are clinging to the concept of being female then you will never realise a state of liberation from the suffering created by your own inflated ego. This is one of the principle reasons why feminists are so unpleasant.

Great love to you, Ani Tenzin Palmo.
Every person, male and female, are perfect in their pure form - the soul. Ego, selfishness, and limiting beliefs are what makes us imperfect whilst in human form. Women are equal with men, that is a fact that is pure and simple. Our bodies are temporary but the soul is immortal. Therefore, every being isn't permanently their body nor permanently it is the identity. It is a temporary part of their life to manifest in the physical world. Regarding the female body as impure is in itself incorrect. It is not much different from the male body except for the shape, hormone and reproductive organ. Every monk who discriminates should study again and meditate more because their judgment and thinking are clouded. They are causing aspiring nuns suffering rather than help them advance. Power, control and politics in the Buddhist structure is sad

She's not a monk she is a nun. She is still fighting for the nuns equality in the Tibetan monastics. As it stands, nuns cannot be fully ordained and so she is pushing for change and to create support for non Himalayan nuns i.e western buddhist nuns who have limited access to support. I wish her well, I am im awe of her and is truly inspiring.
