A truly independent film about a truly interdependent Shaman. :) A place where woman centered power is thriving. All together and for everyone. Imagine that. Simple, direct and sensitive. It’s refreshing to be reminded of what good journalism looks like, which is staying out of the way so the story can tell itself. Great camera work and sound. The music tracks actually enhanced the storyline. Brava! Many thanks..

I'm so happy to see a film made by a woman about a female shaman. This is very important. Beautiful work -- I love the Shipibo and the medicine and have benefited greatly from their songs, the plants and the deep tradition that I hope is able to survive.

I'm only 20 minutes in. This film needs to be seen by more people. This is an exceptional work of art. I am fascinated by ayahuasca, shamanism, healing, the amazon, culture, and anthropology. If more people went out of their body and experienced them selves as animals they would better understand shamanism and the connection to everything when the self is trancesended as one. There is however places we wish not to see. Mind is the illusion or the trap, to the greater extent of what we are capable when we merge with the soul.

Estella is a very special lady... I had my very first cup of medicine with her in 2016 right before she started her center and she was still dealing with her abusive husband. So lovely to see how she is doing now! And shedding a short insight on the issue with the younger generations to continue down this path. Thank you for bringing her story and work in such a nice, yet raw, but very clear way.🙏💚

Takes me back to my time in the Peruvian Jungle, where I sat with a 4th generation plant medicine healer for many (alternating) nights..............These Shipibo men and women were truly Curanderos......Healers, who use all manner of plant medicine, not just Aya, to assist people. Such a dramatically difference approach and result from sitting with the Ayahuasca Tourism which has become so prevalent in the Amazon (young people from all over the planet who have very limited experience with the medicine, yet charge a premium to serve Aya to people)..................so great to see this doc - hope it reaches all the right people • such a powerful medicine, at a time when the world truly needs it's insights....................best wishes from the Canadian Wilderness.............

I have been on my own healing journey for the last 12 years. I have been training under two very powerful woman shamans. They have taught me how to reconnect with my heart, soul and innate power through shamanism and love after half a lifetime of suffering from every kind of trauma. I never would use ayahuasca because I don’t need to, but I understand those that try to help themselves through the use of it. I also found it interesting when you said that they burn the plastic and it cleanses the center. This is a fine example of how our power of intention and our perceptions are so very important. We can also heal beautiful Mother Earth and every living being through shamanism, if we can survive the breakdown of the old systems and the people who want to power over people and everything else. Intention, knowing ourselves, living from our heart center and intuition and understanding we are all one is so important in the leveling up of consciousness.
    Wonderful movie and well-made!!! 🪶🩵

I have to say that my life has transformed completely. I have done Ayahuasca before in the Andes of Peru and next year I will be going to the rainforest, medicine is calling again. Thank you for creating this. This is very beautiful. I connected to it in a very intense way. This was done exceptionally well. It was raw, sincere, serene and sincere. I felt like I was right there. Many of us don’t get the chance to witness some of the most purest and profound experiences that exist in this in the world. I definitely feel the shaman needed to send a message so that all of her eyes can see and that our spirits could feel…thank you for sharing her story and her message of healing.

brilliant work, it takes a lot to be a shaman, it is sad that her fellow shamans hold negative intetions towards her, my shaman as well has stage 4 cancer and said that it was spiritual attack from other shamans. may I ask what exactly the camera + mic you used? you're voice over was flawless. I genuinely appreceate the help as I'm intrested in making movies.

Thanks a lot for the comment!
I'll help Victoria answer the technical details, I'm the cameraman who worked with her on this. We used a Sony FX9 and it somehow survived the very harsh environment: we had no reliable access to electricity (the closest point was like 25 min away on a brutal motorbike ride) so keeping the batteries running was rough, 95-100% humidity and temperatures in the 30-35°C, rain, sand, bugs and no solid structure for storage. it was quite an adventure :)
as for mics, I had a NTG-2 on the camera, and I don't remember exactly what Sara (our sound engineer) was using on the boom, but I think it was a Sennheiser 416 + a couple of wireless mics. she also had a lot of challenges with the environment, and we were quite shocked by the complexity of the ceremonies (sound-wise) and having only one main mic made it interesting to edit!

Cedric answered beautifully. It was truly an adventure! If you were asking about the mic for the voiceover, it was a ShureSM7.

@@cedriclarvoire thank you Cédric and great equipments. I'm sorry you went through all that with the production especeally working in areas that doesn't provide electricity. I like how everyone appeared at the documentary were relaxed and natural, that in itself is not easy, and both of you and Victoria did a brilliant job at creating ease despite the conditions that you went through in the jungle. Please keep up the great work.

In my mind I saw it running on the sacred exercise wheel of time. We are all that hamster; running eternally; nibbling, nibbling, until the end of time. Oha! It is so!
