Okay, not a HOI4 player, but I love watching: is there a way to do paratrooper and or glider attacks? I'd love to see how an army of basically nothing but airborne would go.
Airborne divisions are actually amazing. Use them tactically. A mass airborne army landing on supply hubs and rail lines. Don't land on victory points or ports because AI does defend those. Land by them, if empty, go and land next to those tiles. Yes, org can be low but last stand, general special feature glider planes, also having transports can all get your org and supplies recovered before the AI can redeploy troops. Make sure to land several airborne divisions next to each other and capture tiles next to each other, so you have places to retreat if needed.

When I did the Sunrise Invasion achievement, I built a few cruiser subs, and then I made 1 soldier invade Attu island at the edge of the Aleutians and 9 invade Portland. Its usually enough to get you going quickly to defeat the US before they can fully mobilize
I honestly feel like Japan need to have their Axis/Kodoha and Communist/Democratic paths bunched up. So that you'd get two main choices that lead to more bonuses and the branching would come later on. Similar to how Germany chooses the path AFTER it rebuilds from civil war if it opposes Hitler. This way civil war would be more believable(as among communists and democrats there might be enough support combined to do something) and better represent their options on both imperialistic paths(if you won in China and won border conflict with USSR, why would you be afraid to attack it in 1942 when it's in trouble rather then attacking USA?).

If you puppet the Dutch in a peace deal they automatically give Curaçao to Venezuela. It happens when the peace deal ends. Annexing them fully or taking Curaçao specifically allows the carribean invasion. Have done it, still a thing.

Vanilla ai loses its ships too quickly due to skill issue but expert ai uses the navy better so its gonna be a challenge. But thats exactly what you need to learn the navy or the game in general

Also, judging by the map in January of '38, a lot of the resistance you're seeing in Washington is being put up not by the US Army so much as by the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Nooksack and Lummi tribes in the northern Puget Sound region.
