Thanks for the video Phil I've been using this model for about three or so years. The new motor looks and sounds a lot quieter then the annoying one that came with mine. I tilt the wheel assembly at the nock end slightly towards the end stop. It keeps the shaft in the correct position. Stops it traveling to the right. The black plastic ruler is difficult to see and use consistently, so I use it to prop up cards with my designs on, much easier to use that way. Mark...
Thanks for this vid, Phil. I wish I'd seen it when I bought my cresting machine a couple of years ago. It would have saved much heartache when putting it together. I think I'll have to get mine out again and work out my own personal cresting pattern (another archer at my club uses the same fletching combination/colours). Great review, and really nice to 'meet' your mum; she's lovely.
Glad to see my video has helped in some way, good luck with the cresting, it can be very satisfying, we are looking at making a video of a home made cresting machine. I will pass on your compliments to my mum.
Bohnings are nice . You guys should give Spinrite a call and see if they will send there cresting machine I think you guys would like it too.Great video .
Depends what you mean by "need", if you don't varnish your shafts then they won't be weather proof, I always varnish first before applying cresting/feathers etc.
I put on the cresting after the piles/nocks and varnish has been completed, the last thing after cresting is the feathers. We do not use Danish oil. I use Humbrol model paint for the cresting.
@@longbows I put a cracking cresting of water colour + PVA mix on after Danish oiling the shafts.... and peeled it off again the following morning.. Doh !! Schoolboy error..... I've previously used kitchen/bathroom paint which worked well, but the watercolour didn't bond at all.... thanks for the info....
Not sure yet. I've just built a cresting jig and I'm on the verge of starting to paint my first arrows. I've bought some Tamiya acrylic modelling paints

Interesting how people find different ways of doing things with the same bit of kit.

It's nice to see you take mother bear out for walks. I could send my folks over and they can play in the sand box or finger paint together😸
Do they wear adult diapers or do they need help in the bathroom?
@@longbows They know how to hose themselves down.
They're hired!
G'day to mum and friends 😁 🐨
Referring to your mother as an old crone.
How disrespectful.
I love it!!!
lol
you have the motor and the idler backwards...the motor should be to your left so the motor is hanging outwards not inwards in your way
Thanks
do you need to tret the arrows before cresting??

Very nice, may I ask what particular type of paint was used in this video? Also where can it be purchased?
Hi, I use `model paint` usually the Humbrol make, you can get it at most model shops.
Nice Family 🏹🏹👍❤️🌹🏅🏆🍀🍀🍀
You are so kind
At what point do you apply the cresting? Before or after Danish oiling the shaft? What paint do you normally use for cresting? Please?

Hi, we use Humbrol type enemal paints. What ones do you like using?

Great, well done, acrylic should be fine, keep us posted how you get on.
Will do 👍
Testors seems to work good to ,another model paint company seems to take a little time to dry though from my using.
Hi Mum
... Your Mum??.. I thought you'd invited Emma Thompson round for a cameo...
Lol, I will tell her that.
For 200USD that is a very basic machine. Not to mention incredibly basic instructions.
