Nice tutorial
Thank you! Cheers!
You made me realize that it is possible to make our own threads inside our field points, with the appropriate tools of course. I don't know if it's as effective as the manufactured ones, but it seems to work so far. Have a nice day and take care ! 🙂
Excellent! Glad we could help, let me know how you get on.
There's nothing like a tightly bound straw boss to take care of your piles , even though it's quite eye watering when it happens 😂😂😂😂
Pulling them out can sometimes cause a problem.
😱😫😫😫🤣
I cut threads into stock piles, then taper my shaft using the NOCK taper , and it takes a thread really well but only if I use the NOCK taper..rock solid !
I've been cutting my own threads in stock piles and then tapering the point end with a nock taper tool and then just screw them on and they work really well
Brilliant
Hi. How doo you go about fitting piles to 9/32 wood arrows please?
Hi, have you purchassed 9/32 piles? If so are they parallel or taper?
Whats the benefit of the conical or tapered points as opposed to parallel ?As far as I can tell there kinda pointless considering the taper is behind the threads which are still Parallel thread's.. 'heard they seat better but I don't buy that at all.. Wood is very soft and I have no trouble with parallels going on straight !!
For most people it's easier to fit a taper pile as a plasti taper tool is cheap and readily available and can be used in the field of you carry spares.
Thanks for sharing your piles with us and the The Answer To Life, The Universe And Everything is 42;)
Can we reuse the tips? And if so, how do you think the easiest way to remove the leftover woods?
Indeed, check the aren't split and the point is still present. Carefully using heat/flame will soften most glues to be able to remove the wood, screwing a short screw into the wood will give you something to grip on to if the wood is short.
Morning upload crew! 💪👌
AHAHAA! Fred's in there.
Beauty RHL.
Which taper do you use the long or short taper as it looked like you used the nock taper? Thanks in advance
Hi, I use the one for the piles, as i mention in the video, the longer blade.
This is how ALL wood arrow field points should be designed. It doesn’t make sense to have to glue the point on which still breaks off anyways and goes missing, resulting in having to spend more. All points should be screw on. I’m gonna start a protest against all designers of glue on points! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!
hot melt glue from a glue gun for a very quick fix
yes, I usually keep a stick of it with me when out in the woods, and a handy lighter.
I heard they are forged on unicorn horns to make the fred🦄
Yes, lubricated with with pixie pee
