I grew up in Oman and I can confidently say that Oman and it's hospitality and beauty is super underrated. Oman truly is one of the hidden gems of the world.
Ahhh Oman 😍 By far my favourite destination in the Middle East! The beauty of the country, the kindness of the people…so happy to see they didn’t sell their soul. Only wonderful memories 🥰 Can’t wait for the Al Bustan review ☺️😉 Thank you for this uplifting watch 🙏🏼😃
Having worked 3 years in Oman, my proudest moment was later returning with wife and kids to show them Bandar Jissah, Muscat, Nizwa, and other fascinating parts of Oman. We have traveled the world and Oman will always be one of the most memorable and delightful.
That hotel looks amazing, as is the food. The buffet alone would do me, I wouldn't even bother with the a la carte. That beach is very unique , I love those rock escarpments.
I love Oman - it really feels more authentic than the other surrounding countries and especially love their carrier - the hotel overall looked very nice and peaceful as well, the food looked quite delicious - I’d definitely be happy at that property- great video Kevin
My only experience with Jumeirah was when the Frankfurt one had a special $50 offer to celebrate it's 5 year anniversary. I loved the room! This looks lovely. The second video in succession where the views are incredible! Thanks Kevin.
Beautiful! This is the first of the many, many properties in the Middle East I've seen reviewed where I would absolutely spend my own money. I'm bookmarking this video and saving it in my Travel Destinations folder.
We visited Oman last year and loved it. We considered the Jumeirah, but felt it was just too isolated and far from everything, and a more central Muscat hotel was much better for visiting everything.
I have, many times… but it’s a very ‘risky’ destination for something like this. Possibly not enough name (Cyprus itself) or brand (hotels) recognition to make videos there financially feasible to feature before I have hundreds of thousands of subs. The primary disadvantage of being self funded- there’s gotta be a possible ROI.
Can we expect to see any hotel review videos from Australia soon? Would be very interested in hearing your perspective on some of our local favourites!
Not likely, I’ve backed off of Urban hotel videos from most places as they simply don’t perform well enough to make it worth the time (and money) put into them. Some more resort-y properties from Aus in the future, perhaps.
This looks an amazing resort. Quite decently priced too at the moment (although not peak season). Oman has some amazing mountainous terrain leading straight to beach and ocean. Glad this Jumeirah is higher in your estimation that the Bali property haha
Another banger video! I recently acquired DJI Osmo gimbal stabilizer similar to yours! Do you film in 0.5x or 1x by any chance? Thank you in advance kev!
Kevin another excellent video and content. Glad that we are done with Mexico and back to more interesting parts of the world hehe. Having been to the property and a frequent Jumeirah guest (Jumeirah gold for a few years), a few comments The property can feel crowded if fully booked compared to their Dubai sister properties at Madinat. The adult pool is not practical if you want to get a sun tan. Who thought that those wooden structures were a good idea when the place largely targets Europeans aside from Arabs rather than Asians! There is no enough sitting space at the adult pool and the beach can get crowded. Given how relatively isolated the hotel is, the restaurant choices are lacking again compared to Madinat. You are right re prices in peak season vs low. However, I find that Oman sees less of a hike than Dubai (Dubai prices can be x 3 in peak seasons except for the Burj Al Arab due to its higher prices even in low season) Your hotel content is probably the best out there. A suggestion from me would be to provide a more detailed description of the sea and pool experience including aspects as the pool/sea side service when you are reviewing resorts as that is a big part of the experience.
Appreciate that and thanks for the suggestion. I’m not against it but it’s one of those things that spending time on could potentially end up taking time away from another aspect. I know we’re just talking about 20 seconds or so, but there are a lot of ‘just 20 seconds’ categories that I could dive into that just add up. So this is one thing that I call out specifically only when it’s above or below average. Similar to noise bleed in rooms or accessibility, etc.
Kevin, are you ever going to go to Shinta Mani Wild in Cambodia? that's been my dream hotel for nearly half a decade and I've always wanted to know if it's as amazing as it sounds.
It is a discontinued model. The bag I currently use is the Level 8 Voyageur. Can check out their selection here: bit.ly/tfft_level8 Code Kevin10 at checkout saves 10% off of the total bill.
Ok. I’ll say it. And respectfully. Your hotel reviews are always of a high quality. But you should think about staying 2 nights. So many reasons: we don’t need to hear about the hotel you stayed at near the airport before going to the review hotel. Get your rest for a night at the review hotel and really tell us your experience. When the hotel messes up, we can really see their customer recovery rather than a bill adjustment. And we never see the pool experience, what pool side goodies if any are offered, the daytime meals and service and the resultant true experience you have during a full day. I understand why you only stay 1 night, but staying longer might help you avoid the formulaic nature your reviews sometimes develop.
Appreciate the feedback, but I’d also respectfully say that it’s a flawed, well actually, impossible logic to apply. The airport hotel comment has nothing to do with this video’s content, it’s simply a passing comment for those who follow the channel since my flight landed at 3AM… As for the nights. Sure, 2 would make a better video, 7 would make an even better video. Same as a 14 hour flight makes a better video than a 2 hour flight- but if all hotel stays needed to be 2 nights, there would simply never be another hotel video published on my channel, ever. In the best of circumstances every video would lose money. So sure, 2 nights is better, but cash raining from the sky would be nice too… but neither are actually possible. I do the best I can while actually self funding. For these channels that publish 4 night stays at $1000/night hotels each week, I’d suggest questioning how it’s funded if they don’t disclaim a sponsorship from the hotel they’re reviewing.

Easily my favorite in the region now as well! The perfect mix of development and unspoiled tradition.

Agreed! It’s a captivating country.
Oman is a beautiful country - and the nicest Gulf Arab peoples too.
You've still not got to Mussandam and landed in Khasab yet...
Great vid.

Thank you for this review. I was certainly looking for to it and answered all my questions ❤😀
Appreciate that!
Awesome video thanks! For 3 nights in muscat (with goal of exploring the city) would you suggest this or the ritz?
A beautiful and serene venue. Thank you for sharing. Btw, have you thought of including hotel reviews for Cyprus?

Wow 🤩, what a stunning property!! The view from your room is worth the price of admission alone(kinda)! 😊
Agreed!
Wow! Looks amazing. Thanks for the info + video!

Beautiful production as always!
Way to pricey for me. But Kevin provides a great escape for me. Thanks!

Always 1x. 0.5x is full of noise unless in bright light conditions. Thanks for watching 🩴
I love Qatar, but this is more my style. Definitely now on my list of places to see and understand. Cheers FFT.

No plans for it.
Please do visit the Shangri La and Mandarain Oriental as well
Would love to return when the MO is open.
Kevin, I agree with you on the slamming of doors at a luxury resort or on a cruise. Why can't people practice common courtesy?
Because it's no longer common haha.
Absolutely gorgeous! 🌊☀
