I was Housekeeping manager at Audleys Wood Hotel and when I did the refurbishment of all the rooms I got mattress casings for every bed. I totally agree that every hotel should have them, they don’t even cost much more than an average mattress cover. Love your work ✌🏻
I fully understand why they don't. They must be a nightmare to put on. I bagged groceries for my first job. I refused the requests for double paper inside plastic please. I kind of imagine requests to put an encasement on pretty equal to that. A pain that I didn't get paid enough to do. I was also 15 and didn't care about the job. I find a request for a mattress encasement to be ridiculous and uncalled for.
I grew up in the desert and as kids we used to play a game where we'd stand on the hot concrete barefoot and see who lasted the longest haha! Also, stings from those scorpions hurt really bad but wont kill. There's a rule that the smaller their pincers the more venomous they are lol. The baby ones are the most dangerous though ironically. Baby scorpions tend to push all their venom into their prey so they are more dangerous than adults who know how to control their poison, fun fact.
@@WalkWithMeTim The scorpion you encountered is indeed the "Deathstalker" aka the most dangerous kind in terms of total number of people unalived each year. While Deathstalker enfants are more dangerous, a Deathstalker adult can still easily unalive someone. If untreated, the mortality rate is 20-30%.

I was disappointed at how dirty the phone in your suite was, but overall this place looks amazing. I would absolutely love the stillness and desert views. I'd just be spending all my time in the pool looking at the sky and the dunes, and having lots of room service! What a spectacular landscape.
I visited this hotel in the first week of Feb 2020, just weeks before the COVID lockdown. The weather was very chilly, and it was so surreal like I travelled back in time. This kind of place is mentioned in 1001 nights, Arabian folktales. The hotel stays mostly empty due to its location and high tariff, but this is what makes it special.
Love that you always ask for an encasement, something we do as well! Also have one over the mattress at home! I think you could get about 25/30 people in that shower? I'm glad you brought that back into your video's!

smooth road surface.... unlike UK. go to malta, the roads also smooth... probably coz so bloomin' hot the surface melts a bit and smooths out as it sets
One thing that absolutely destroys roads are wet freeze/thaw cycles. If there's a hairline crack in the asphalt, water will seep in. It will eventually freeze and expand during a cold winter night, pushing the crack open further, letting in more water next time it rains, causing more expansion when it freezes, and rapidly causing a pothole this way. Compare it to putting a bottle of beer in the freezer and forgetting it. You could prevent it by using inpermeable asphalt, but you'd get tremendous aquaplaning when it rains. And in our parts of the world, oh lordy it can rain. In the desert, you only have to contend with the heat cycle, not with any water inside of the road freezing. The Netherlands spends loads of money on road maintenance, and we have quite good roads. But even here, every winter roads are getting rougher by the expansion of freezing water.
I think it is worth every penny. It is so beautiful and you get a lot for your money, I understand it is off peak times, so it seems fair price for that. The spiders and scorpions, no thank you ugh! Great filming as well.
