No extra charge for mistakes here! This is AMAZING practice and not easy. I’m playing A to C then D. Treating each one as a Dom7 vibe. Hope y’all dig it!

Astonishingly great. Can’t stop listening to it.
I didn’t learn a lot from this, but it definitely inspired me to put more hours in and do the work.

An absolute joy to watch ..... so many guitarists bore me after a while (as great as they may be) but this guy is a real pleasure ..... I haven't spent SO much time watching videos in a long time. Makes me want to pick up the guitar even though I know in 100 lifetimes I'll never get anywhere near this ...... he makes it look so easy and fun. Great stuff Guthrie

So amazing that a great player like yourself shows us that practice is still essential, at all levels and that knowledge is better shared than hoarded. Someone else may have said this before me in these comments, good for them! You need to hear the positive messages, regularly. Have a good one....

Not sure if someone already got this out there, but the reason your bass track is off is latency-the time it takes to process the signal. There’s a definitely a way to set that in your software so that when you record, it’s tracking in time.

Is that the one with all the nuts and bolts shaped into musicians that swing back and forth? I love that one. Ambient Backing Tracks is awesome as well for some great drone sounds. On your computer, you can start up a rhythm track then open up another page and play one of these drones. Solos for days and in key after key. I practice Guthrie's triads and arpeggios that way a lot. Im a gettin there and lovin it.

I've been using Toontrack software to create similar backing tracks for learning solos. The drum tracks provide a feel that a metronome just can't. If you set em up in your DAW, It's easy to slow them down when you need to. Great video brother.

Tom Bailey Music as well. Those are short song backing tracks and it keep your ear open for when the chords change. This stuff is working for me. I wanted to add that Guthrie's Artistworks course shows how to practice the Hybrid Picking stuff. It's very basic and he shows how to get the Mark Knopfler sounds, or at least how to begin. The rest is up to us.

Great advice Mr GT, I use my little Boss looper with drums as a fancy metronome. It has really helped. In particular phrasing and anticipating where to come in and out (though it would make you cringe I am sure). When i watch the complete fluidity with which you play, its obvious the fretboard is more the second nature. Something to aspire to, but not sure there are enough years to get there. But the inspiration is always pushing me on. Many thanks.
