  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already being used with drones to enhance their capabilities, safety and overall user experience but how will AI be integrated into drone technology over the coming years?
    1. Autonomous Flight: AI will enable drones to fly autonomously, without human intervention, making flight operations safer and more efficient.
    2. Intelligent Decision Making: AI algorithms will be used to analyse data from sensors on drones to make real-time decisions, enabling drones to navigate complex environments and perform complex tasks.
    3. Image and Object Recognition: AI algorithms will be used to enable drones to recognize objects, identify patterns, and analyse images. This will be useful for tasks such as surveillance, inspection, and agriculture.
    4. Predictive Maintenance: AI will be used to predict when maintenance is needed, reducing downtime and ensuring that drones are always in optimal condition.
    5. Real-Time Data Processing: AI will enable real-time data processing and analysis, allowing for faster and more accurate decision-making.

Think about this, you ask the drone what something is and it gets a clean shot, recognizes and tells you what it thinks you want like chatgpt and then further you could conversate with it and ask more questions and even tell it to scan a certain area with lidar or something if you see something it doesnt. That would be awesome. Tell it to create a map of the area about 25 meters around in a circle. then it comes back and sends data/3d model to your phone or handheld computer. It could use the ai to connect to other apps to do more things you ask.

That would be awesome! There are a lot of opportunities for AI and drones.

I'd like to see a self docking to chargers, and what I call "watchdog mode", which it would act as security. This would be for retail and commercial benefits. Maybe stationary LIDAR set up as part of a home security system, to tell the AI drone where to search for Intruders. Somebody make it happen! Cut me in on the profits though lol!

I dont care about filters or anything. I just want to have it as a cameraman that i can talk to. I could tell it the shot type, when to take breaks to conserve batteries, etc. Even have it become familiar with the storyboard so that we're "on the same page" (just like with Chat gpt).
Breaking away from the reliance on human pilots / camera operators would be *gloriously* liberating.
A.I. developments have been incredibly fast in every other field: to the point of being disruptive, and hurting many people's careers..... But, somehow, remain slow as hell for these consumer drones.

Hoping to purchase my first drone ever now in Spring 2024 . What's a good starting point ? I am a photographer now for quite sometime , but have never flown a drone .

Hmmm, good question. I would suggest the Air 3 for photography. The 70mm camera is amazing. If you don’t have the budget then the Mini 3 or Mini 4 Pro might be more in line for you: linktr.ee/danstubetv

Hey i kinda want some help. I'm trying to use ai and a flying drone about the size of a softball and create a scanner that is connected to databases to recognize items and relate information like a personal assistant. My approach to enabling the AI to control the drone's movement would be to first analyze the available hardware and software tools that can be used for integration. This would include analyzing the drone's flight controller, sensors, communication protocols, and any available SDKs or APIs.
Next, I would develop a custom software solution that bridges the gap between the drone's hardware and the AI's software. This would involve developing a middleware that listens to the AI's commands, interprets them, and translates them into the appropriate flight controller commands that can be sent to the drone. Similarly, telemetry data from the drone's sensors would be received by the middleware, processed, and relayed back to the AI.
To ensure seamless integration between the AI and the drone, I would develop a custom user interface that allows the AI to easily control the drone's movement and behavior. This interface would include controls for adjusting the drone's rotation, pitch, throttle, and other parameters, as well as a live video feed from the drone's camera.
Finally, I would rigorously test the integration between the AI and the drone, ensuring that the software solution is robust and can handle a wide range of scenarios and inputs. This would involve testing the integration in a variety of environments and conditions, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure that the AI can reliably control the drone's movement and behavior.
I would love to know if anyone else has done this and if someone wants to. Btw, this was generated by chatgpt.

When I look at what my phone camera can do now, I would love to see those functions bought into the drone world!! I'm using a Xiaomi phone, and I would love to see the camera features I have on my phone transferred into a drone!! Would make for some very interesting potential for photos and video!! If it can fit in my phone, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to incorporate it into a drone!!

Funny you should bring up this subject today, only yesterday I was imagining my phone company partnering with DJI to come up with a camera system combining the best of both worlds!!

Drones in general should have never been invented…..
it’s a horrible/ very awesome capability. I love them… the issue is that once drones and AI merge, nobody will be able to hide from anything.

I think there is a place for ai, but when it comes to photos and videos we and future generations are going to look at these and question if it was reality or manipulated. The more that the ai generators look at manipulated images the more that they will assume it to be normal and new images are then further warped.
Bit of a word world where we can't accept reality

    • @DansTubeTV
      @DansTubeTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, that is a really good point. A scary thought to imagine the implications of AI generating images, videos, graphics and text for the foreseeable future. We will be questioning everything.

I'm glad you are concerned about AI, but I'm sad that you didn't express concern about the fact that this device and its native software was written in China and could be sending some of your usage data, like maps that you make, back to DJI HQ in China. I'm much less concerned about AI misuse when the AI company is based in a democracy such as the US. But for a company in China, the Chinese government has the right to take a copy of all data from DJI's servers and then give that data to its military for future use against us in a military way. And I still haven't seen a single product reviewer make the point that buying products from China will indirectly be equipping the Chinese military.
