I love this yoke. I have it paired with the Bravo, and it's a perfect combo. Because I use VKB pedals, I use the yoke mini throttle for toe brakes and it's landing gear handle for parking brake! And I frequently use the tablet holder too.
I modded my yoke with the creative use of small bungees I bought at the hardware store, in order to increase the force required to pull on it, and to deflect the yoke sideways (ailerons). This has made all the difference!
Great video. It irks me slightly when companies says something is “1:1” and then add a bunch of switches. I get why they do it, practicality. But it is not 1:1 after you add or take away something.
This is one of the nicest mid-range Yokes out there (short of getting a Bruner or something facny), it's much nicer than the Honeycomb Alpha I think, especially in pitch, I could never get on with the Alpha, the pitch was too heavy and wanted to return to centre all the time, I felt you fought that rather than being able to get fine control over the pitch which you can in the Thrustmaster boeing. Good review.
Loved the yoke cam. Flightdeck2sim uses it a lot and it's very interesting to see how a real pilot handles the controls, and how an experienced streamer sets up their sim station. You should use it more! Nice footage of the FO too - what is it with cats and boxes??
Great video! Thanks! I have had some trouble lately with calibration "drifting" or going completely cuckoo! I investigated and found that the aileron works with a bungee cord - i kid you not - hence the "wobble" round the centre.
Mine has gone back to Thrustmaster for inspection as it started clicking on pitch movements. It's worth noting there is a deadzone on centre roll, you cannot take this out - it's a hardware deadzone. Aside from that, this is a great yoke. I replaced my Honeycomb Alpha with this as I much prefer the tension on both pitch and roll. This and the Honeycomb Bravo are the perfect pairing. Tip: pick up some tennis grip and wrap it around both sides for less of a plastic feeling. You'll get better grip too.
Have it for a few months and really made flying Boeings a lot of fun. Really got used to flying with the HUD on the 737 and 787, so finding it hard to handfly the 777. Find the FD a bit hard to follow.
i love your videos and have been subscribed for a while now, but please disable resample on sony vegas haha, will make your videos look so much smoother and higher quality
Thank you SO much for this. I had been searching and searching for the setting that would remove that blurry effect and couldn't figure it out. Thank you!
Hello Cpt and thanks for a great open and honest review. I have the Boeing yoke and love it! Sadly though I've had to reluctantly switch back to the Honeycomb item for now, due to the physical size of the ThrustMaster. I only have a limited amound of desk space available and not having the space for my keyboard I found to be a major issue. With the shape and size of Honeycombe yoke, I'm able to have it on an underslung shelf below my keyboard, freeing up the desk. I whole heartedly agree though that Boeing yoke is a great piece of kit.
I’ve had this for a couple years and it works great. The throttle feels good but the dial is crap and I don’t use it. The yoke is certainly its strong point. I use the two black buttons on the throttle (right side) for flaps up/down. Makes more sense. I use the triggers on the yoke for Tobii eye tracker. Left button for AP disconnect, right for AT off. Trim up down left side and aileron and rudder trim on the right side. That’s pretty much the extend of my button usage. I rarely touch the rudder or aileron unless in a GA, like the TBM (rudder).
Great review, thank you. I"m already sold on the yoke, but would most likely try to find a Honeycomb Bravo with the Boeing adapters before I use the thrust level panel.
This was a nice video, i think this would be my next yoke, and then i will pair it with my honeycomb bravo, you should do a video about the 787 conversion kit for it from prodesksim they have a lot of great products, the flaps and speedbrakes will have notches that exactly match the -10 or the -8 and -9 flaps. I would love to see a video about your opinion on those
I like your idea of putting the flap selection on the yoke switch. I'm going to reconfigure mine. Unfortunately, my yoke just started making a loud plastic squeaking noise when I pull back, It's only been a year.🤔
They could have done much better on the throttle quadrant. Should have 4 axis, and a better button setup. Having autopilot on there is just strange. They should have stuck with the airbus quadrant layout
Mind stopped working after 8 months. Sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. Broke after 1 month. Sent it back the second time. Broke again after 5 weeks. Got my money back and ordered the Honeycomb bravo. I was really disappointed because it worked well before it failed. Known issue with the aileron control.
Just in the process of considering this. My home sim is custom built around the a320, but Im looking for a yoke to use for a300, md-11, and occasionally for the pmdg
I have been using one for a year just recently have a wander in yoke which makes keeping yoke steady read where people have attached magnets to stop wandering doesn’t work in my case working with support but not confident they can do anything … so be it
Great review Capt! I’ve had many yokes over the years, but this is by far the best for airliners. Used it a lot with the 777, MD-11 and 737 recently. I didn’t get the throttle though. Can’t decide if it’s worth it?
Thanks Ed! Glad you enjoyed it. The throttle has nice friction but otherwise is similar to the Airbus one just in Boeing style. I’m not totally certain how much I’ll use its autopilot feature yet.
How does the sim recognize the auto pilot knob mode? I'm curious to see the keybindings to the outer and inner knobs. The ability to use the same knob for multiple features seems pretty useful even with other controls.
Many thanks for a great overview and happy to see the FO looking so perky! Can I ask what your throttle button 17 is bound to - I can’t seem to find anything that works ?
Sorry, probably wrong video to ask under :D You mentioned in 787 packs are electric, so it's not enough EXT power unless you start APU. But if it's really hot outside, and you need to stay prolonged time on the ground not starting APU, is it possible to connect external air supply for packs, or plug in 2/all 3 external power plugs to get more electric energy to the pack system? TIA
My right thumb hat switch and throttle axis are causing the yoke to become Unusable. No real fix by Thrustmaster on this problem. Sending the yoke for repair has not yielded a permeant fix. I love this yoke and hope a solid fix in the future.
Yoke is great. Throttle quadrant is bad - too plasticky and needed second quadrant to get flaps. Haven’t ever managed to get dial on second quadrant to be used for particular selections separate from first quadrant. Update: the mini joystick on the right side is now showing axes roll.
I have a question! What software did you use to lean the mcdu in the a320? I just talked to a pilot about it, but i cant remember the name now😅. He said it costed about 60 euros or something.
It's a great yoke..... unfortunately for me the first part of the yoke that has become unresponsive and faulty was the right hat switch.......and to send it back to the manufacturers for inspection is such a hassle so I just disabled it.
i have an idea for a video, like what you do in the videos "cold and dark, approch and landing, etc..." why dont you do a failure tutorial? like how would you exactly act when you have engine failure for example and how would you land safely, i thing tthis would be great video i really want to watch. like this comment please so he can see it.
The yoke is great but it is cheaply made crap. The right side hat switch twitches and when panning around it starts to go rogue. Many others with the same issue and Thrustmaster have provided no fix.
I wish I knew how crappy the throttle actually was before I bought it. At 120 EUR, I'd expect something wayyy better. It's plastic-y, wobbly, and and overall an absolute piece of plastic crap. It feels like a fisher-price toy, rather than a piece of sim gear. I'd value it closer to 20 EUR. Absolute rip-off. Can't wait to chuck this box of lies in the dumpster once the Honeycomb Bravo arrives.
It irritates me that the throttle quadrant only has 3 axis. No commercial airliner has less than 4 (speed brake/2xthrottle/flaps). My ideal set up I think would be thrustmaster flight controls with honeycomb throttles
For some, the bravo's sheer size is a limitation. Albeit, functionality and everything else about it is incredible compared to (almost) everything else.
This just shows if you love what you do you never get tired of it
What a cute FO 🥰
I’ll let her know! Thanks for watching!
She definately approves of the box.
FO?

Same here. I can highly recommend the Flap Kit for the Bravo to also get the flap detente he talks about in the video.
thanks for giving me an idea for what the sliders on the yoke do
I modded my yoke with the creative use of small bungees I bought at the hardware store, in order to increase the force required to pull on it, and to deflect the yoke sideways (ailerons). This has made all the difference!
this is very scare, my cat is sad
Great video. It irks me slightly when companies says something is “1:1” and then add a bunch of switches. I get why they do it, practicality. But it is not 1:1 after you add or take away something.
brilliant video as usual. Keep up the good work.Look forward to you tutorials on 2024

Thanks for watching! I was very impressed with it as well!
18:22 the thrust master pendular rudder pedals are excellent, worth every penny.
Loved the yoke cam. Flightdeck2sim uses it a lot and it's very interesting to see how a real pilot handles the controls, and how an experienced streamer sets up their sim station. You should use it more! Nice footage of the FO too - what is it with cats and boxes??

It is indeed something to get used to! The HUD makes a big difference in home simulators as the screens can be a bit hidden away.

Very nice review. Any chance you could give us an update on how the Airbus TCA is doing after some years of use :)
Thanks! I’ll see what I can do

Best FO ever, I’m sure he can handle atc and read checklists :) not sure about flying tho…
Surprisingly works remarkably well with helicopters too
Very nice review! and here I am using an airbus sidestick with boeing aircaft 😂
I love the 1st officer. ❤🐈
Thanks for the review, and all your videos. The big question, is this kit a no brainer over the tuetle beach kit?

Hello, can you please share your sensitivity settings? Or is there a video that you have made?

Have you tried looking into the yoko series from virtualfly?

Just in time before I purchase it haha. Thanks ❤
You’re welcome!
Love this yoke I’ve been using it for arround a year now and I had some drift in my yoke so I disabled the hat switch and that fixed it
i love watching these review vids knowing ill never get one of these yokes
Looking forward to get these but they ain't cheap. Just BTW, you realy should get the Thrustmaster rudder pedals, they are brilliant.
I'm Asian; learned to fly the PMDG Boeing 777-300ER recently
its actually pretty easy tho (im filipino)
I've been looking into getting this for the longest of times, but the price is a bit too steep for me.
Many thanks for a great overview and happy to see the FO looking so perky! Can I ask what your throttle button 17 is bound to - I can’t seem to find anything that works ?
can you help me? I can't set throttle revers

Ah that’s a shame!
Yep I’m the same as with many others. Clearly a design fault that TM have failed to own up to.
I just picked this up. Any chance you could advise on sensitivity settings?
i have the same yoke and i can't find how to put LNAV and VNAV on shortcut button , how is it called into MSFS2020
bravo throttle also has a better mcp
Thanks

Bro how many ratings do you have? 777, 787, a320 how many?
Two prol: 320 family and a combined 777/787 rating.
How have you only just got this? 😂😂😂
FO Sighting!!!
The airbus one just seems better overall tbf
Will this work for a PC… or only Xbox?
Both
I tried this and now my door fall out of my room
I combined the yoke with 2 throttles. So i can use the speedbrake and the flaps lever with 2 or 4 engines
you busted 250knts below 10k feet :)
The yoke is great but it is cheaply made crap. The right side hat switch twitches and when panning around it starts to go rogue.

Just throw all the thrustmaster shit in the bin, apart from the yoke, and get a honeycomb bravo with modded leavers from the flight mod site
That's the combo I'm running as well.
For some, the bravo's sheer size is a limitation. Albeit, functionality and everything else about it is incredible compared to (almost) everything else.
Just missing the face reveal
Far too expensive for what it is, should be under £200 for the yoke.
