  • Hello friends, in this video I will show the very simple technique of cutting thick 12mm glass using toyo cutter. By this method any one can easily cut thick /thin glasses and mirrors at home.which can be used to create various craft items and aquariums also.in many videos on youtube are using sparkplugs, files, scissors etc for glass cutting purpose but they are not appropriate tools for glass cutting which might result in breakage of glass of even an injury to your body.so please watch my video and follow the instruction and by some practice any one can master the art of cutting glass. I have also demonstrated the method of drilling hole in 12mm glass which you can see by going through link below.
    Thankyou.

One of the things novices do when cutting glass is using too much pressure with the cutting tool. You know when you have done it right by the sound. It should be a light hiss and the score is a fine line , almost hard to see. Too much pressure and the sound is crunchy with score looking like a deep scratch. The deep scratch are tiny fractures running radially from the line and at best will result in a rough cut and at the worst not cutting at all or running everywhere but where you wanted the cut. Also make sure you have cleaned the glass first and the cutter is not nicked and/or dirty. My humble experience.

Great simple way of cutting very thick glass with simple tools, down to earth. I really like that, just using your hands, even wearing sandals 😊
Some people get over killed with so much gear and tools.
From all the videos I watched, this was the most helpful.

That would be risky when tapping a large piece which would fall because of its weight. A support would be needed on both sides of the glass, and a ball pen hammer would have been better because of the round head as it would give softer taps, thinner glass can just be snapped after one tap to run the line, Thank You
