Very clean job. Calm and precise.. If I was building my aquarium I would have follow exactly how he did it , apart the glass sheets on the top. I would have used polycarbonate sheets. They much lighter, safer ( less breakable) and very easy to clean.
Lexan/poly tanks scratch too easily imo (been there done that), but it does have a place. Poly tanks are very nice if you've a DIY bent and like making mods.

I've reared discus before. Your filter size/volume is insufficient as discus feeding habits pollute the water a lot. You need a filter that is 30-50% the size/volume of the actual tank. You could say that you install a powerful filter to increase the filtration turnover but discus don't like strong water currents. The only option would be a slow/medium sized pump and the water needs to be properly filtered before it re-enters the tank
This looks great dry but add water and you will see that the top of tank in the middle will bow out from the water in the tank, also the cover will not fit from the bowing of tank.

Great build, but this not a reef tank. You would need sump, so you could add protein skimmer, these can take a lot of room.
