This is probably the best valheim tutorial and valheim video ive ever watched. you're getting a follow. (Thank you so much for the info about the ashlands. couldnt have made it there without you)
This is probably the nicest comment ive gotten on a video or at least tied.. sometimes I second guess my vision for the channel and these videos and its comments like this that reassure me im on the right path thank you fellow human KarnisVR10!
my top tip for ashlands: don't build if you're not ready for a fight. in the ashlands the spawn rate SEEMS to be the problem, but in truth, enemies can hear trees falling and workbenches being built from very far, and they never give up chase, so if you're exploring o trying to catch your breath from a recent fight, don't build an outpost, a fireplace, nothing, just stay still, eat your food, drink your potions and find a place to lay low, like a putrid hole. you can build a workbench and a portal anywhere, as long as enter it imediatelly, so enemies lose track of you and leave yor portal alone.
Yeah I shoulda touched on sound and how to be more stealthy but the ashlands a lot of times is about running from fights at least thats how I play xD Those putrid holes are great for resetting your aggro!
Really well done video - shocked you don't have more subscribers yet. With this kind of work - shouldn't be too long. This was super helpful and your cadence, voice, and flow of information was very pleasant and easy to watch. Thanks!
@@Samoooooooo real tho. Fable 1 will always have its place as #1 in my heart. The nostalgia, the music, all of it. It perfectly encapsulated what a stereotypical fantasy game is at heart and made it fantastic. Grew up on that game
haha, I very much appreciate that BasedChadman! Something about the zelda series transcends... its like intertwined with my life... my grandma who taught me how to game when I was 2 was named Zelda! Thanks for the Kind comment!
good video, I made a variation of your asksvin popper out of a fort. food goes in, gather eggs to the middle (where the fire is) and asksvin overflow pops out the front gate which is one wall tile high. I like your design better, its more efficient, but you hadn't made this video yet when I did mine.
Thats a good way of doing it, go in blind experience then after a bit look up guides so it doesnt spoil as much because I still remember an abomination coming out of the ground or a seeker coming out the mist not knowing they were in the game and it was so cool.
I think crossbow's long range devastating attack help greatly in surviving in the Ashlands too. It can snipe out spawners and enemy from afar. With the snake attack bonus, regular asksvin died before reaching players, and even fallen Valkyrie can drop to 1/3 of their health before coming close. Essentially, it can neutralise a lot of threat in the Ashlands
I love the crossbow I just couldnt fit it in this video but while on an oh shit pillar with 10=15 bolts you can kill a morgen.. its very op weapon as Blo Stated! Thanks bro
I really like the info here. I feel like magic is just really strong but requires more attention to be effective. The only thing I will say though... the very weak to fire debuff is not negligable in the mistlands. One barrage from your local tick illithid monstrocity is enough to almost wipe you out. Idk if there is a lot of fire damage in the ashlands... but I kinda assume there is right? Still working on the queen.
There are some sources of fire dmg, but less than you may expect and the fire dmg is weaker than you may expect as well. Causation is still advisable with feather cape on, but it does not like a 24-7 issue.
I agree , Gjalls are still scary unless you see them first , if you keep your bubble up and pop a fire resistance mead you can counter most fire damage! and thanks for the Kind comment
@@Samoooooooo yes, the stacking fire dmg from Gjall's two hit combo just like a dead sentence without fire resistant meads(with feather cape on of course)....so i rather have 24-hr barley wine up in mistland than in Ashlands.
Nice guide, thanks! But why mention roasted chicken (honey-glazed) and not misthare supreme, which is the best Mistlands-tier health food you can make?
I will capture my 4th fortress today, i'm advancing slowly. But i just wanted to say that you're hilarious so keep going 👍🏻 _"You may get attacked by flying Turkey's known as Voltures"_ 😂
I'm not sure yet, but I have the feeling that the charred spawners do not consist of those obelisks only - the gravestone-ish gausten things around them seem to be part of it.
There is bug with the pit method where they will try to walk into the walls even if you have completely flat floor and vertical walls. to fix this you can just place floor in the corners or around the pit or just floor the whole pit before adding them in. I just spent 5 hours trying to make this work and I finally got floor in the corners and they started eating.
great guide, although i would'nt take all them materials first visit, the chances are you may die and loose the lot! just take the stuff for a portal place and then bring your materials across.
I disagree about magic. The reason so many people believe magic is so strong in the Ashlands is because they've spent so long leveling it when it was first released. The reality is that the absolute KING of weapons when you first land is the Mistwalker. The slow is borderline required, and all Charred enemies take bonus spirit damage. In the same vein, Frostner is useful, as it allows you to knock back high-risk targets and focus the trash mobs. Once you can craft AL weapons, prioritize either the sword or mace (whichever you're higher skill with), and upgrade to the lightning augment. The lightning proc counts as a separate hit in terms of stagger, and you will find that you stance break enemies VERY easily with this, regardless of parrying.
I agree with you about the mistwalker and Frostner, especially mistwalker is very powerful and fun to use and weapon/dodge is very important at 100 skill it increaese sword damage for example by like 140%, I just think standing on the a safe pillar shooting fireballs is a lot easier than dodging, ducking, diping, diving and getting a few melee swings in here and there. A lot of these vikings are inebriated they need something easier xD I really appreciate the thoughtful comment brother!
My Magic skills were pretty low when I entered Ashland. Sure first I used mist(bestweapon)walker but I found it times easier to siege a fortress. And, it saves so much stamina to run if anything. Edit: For the open area, its best to stay melee, i think, but for fortress, raise some skelies, they will bet near the wall and every other enemy inside will target them, so you just explode them from above. xD
@@Samoooooooo I discovered by accident, my first Siege was a mess (an outside morgen helped me with a few warlords that scaped, but the second with magic I saw no mobs on it, and wondered what happened. then I jumped in and they were gathered at a corner xD but I'll certainly watch it o/ keep the great work
I recently was using max level bows but swaped to staff of embers, staff of frost protection staff, dead raiser the raised dead can benefit from the protection staff I carry I find them a bit overpowered. I found that almost everything was taking less piercing damage in the Ashlands. In addition I read that monsters in the ashlands have no resistances to any type of magic. This is how I leveled blood magic. m.th-cam.com/video/uqTeG_LN1lc/w-d-xo.html
i didn't use magic in ashlands and I kept seeing vids about ppl dying in it but I don't see myself dying tbh. I used lingering potion wiith rested buff for fast stamina regen and foods that can increase my health plus bonemass buff and feather cape to jump on to lava to get the ores. I use hoe to make a safe base for the portal and boom easy tp when things go bad.
The one and only fable 1!!! Glad you noticed! One of my all time favorites! Im actually planning a big fable video on this channel.. i know crazy right

I realized that the reason some areas have a higher mob spawn rate is actually due to torment monuments being hidden inside natural rock.
Amazing guide! Can you make one about Mistlands aswell?
I just lost all my saves so I have to start all over and I never made it to Mistlands :p
