Harry Potter is a story that has so far stood the test of time, despite some peoples hell bent attempt and alienating an audience, but what happens when you take a look at the story through the lens of Voldemort? Well it's quite hilarious.

I always assumed that port keys normally don't work inside Hogwarts, but that particular ward is temporarily disabled during the triwizard tournament. So they kinda had to hinge the plan on the longshot chance of Harry winning because that was their only short window of time to port key him out of the school.

Yeah in the books it's specified that portkeys don't work con hogwarts unless explicitly allowed by Dumbledore. Moody (Barty Crouch Jr) only had access to the trophy ALONE, giving him enough to redirect it's target location, but he trophy was carefully guarded otherwise.
Al this is too long to explain forma the movie, thus making it look "more convoluted than it needs to be"
Great video, brilliantly executed. I'm kinda sad you didn't mention Barty Crouch Jr cause he actually set up the whole thing in the Goblet of Fire and pretended to be Mad-Eye Moody. He was the only other competent Death Eater you could have mentioned. Still love this though.
I was kinda trying to land the joke that Voldemort had very little knowledge of the plan whatsoever and just took all the credit regardless, but yeah, you're right I could've mentioned him at some point because now I worry people aren't going to understand the intention

Honestly, I think Quirrill couldn't get the stone because He who must not be named wanted it. At that point in time they where sharing a body, so the mirror might have seen them as one being. The charm would only Yeld the stone to someone who wanted to find it, but not use it.
Well, I guess he did in fact wanted to use it. He needed to create an elixir that would give Voldemort a real body using the stone.
I'm pretty sure he says that he sees himself presenting it to his master. So he didn't want to find it, he wanted to give it to voldemort, same logic as wanting to use it.

14:06- I think it's different actually. In all its centuries there, the basilisk only attacked people when Riddle/Voldemort made it, so it was probably there to protect the school as Salazar's contribution. Godrick gave a sword, Rowena gave a diadem, and Helga gave a cup. It makes sense that Salazar would give a gift only he could, and regardless of how he might have changed later, the basilisk was likely put there and trained from the beginning, just like the other three's gifts weren't something they just made at the end of their lives.
Given the time frames that the books showed to us it is true that the basilisk didn't attack any students or teachers and the number of corpses in the sewers really point to it being a passive defense for the school but the books also hint if i remember correctly to Salazar being very pure blood set for the wizarding world. Also if the basilisk was a passive defense than what was the point of the Chamber of Secrets?
The big problem is that the chamber responded only to parseltongue, a magical ability seemingly passed through bloodline, and that said basilisk was under complete control of said parseltongue users. It also is up for speculation on how much info there was lying around about the chamber before Tom Riddle opened it well he went to school.
@@andy9476 It living in the chamber where nobody could accidentally look in its eyes made sense. As did the chamber being secret, because if it wasn't there'd be deaths every year from exploring students that were curious.
As for Salazar: he did always prefer pure bloods, and told the other 3 that he would almost exclusively take them (with exceptions like Tom and Snape) for his house, but in the beginning he was seemingly loyal to his friends and the four of them's idea for the school.
@@marmyeater Not going to lie I was kinda thinking a long the lines of the chamber being a magic seal to help extend the basilisks lifespan, mostly along the lines of his kin using the basilisk to kill the non pure blood students, but the number of bodies kinda deny that being the case for the most part.
On another note I am now curious on how accessible the plumbing and sewage system is outside of the chamber entrance.
Also I understand and agree that Salazar wanted the school. He would of been more than a little crazy if he didn't want to make training wizards and witches easier. Bonus, they would also be able to meet others more easily making marriage easier.
By the time of Tom and Snape the Sorting Hat was the main way to get into a house. Which was based on personality and will of the students themselves. Granted how many knew they more or less had a say was probably a very small fraction of students. To get into Slytherin it just needed to judge you as being more sly/cunning, and maybe wanting power, so by Harry's school years there were probably more than a few non pure in Slytherin.

@@andy9476 think most magical beasts have absurdly long lifespans. some through different methods. the phoenix is literally immortal. the basalisk might just have an infinite lifespan and the more it eats the bigger it grows. jormangander might be real and is just an alternate version of a basalisk. no one has seen it cuz it might be in a different dimension. i mean if the wizards which are pretty trash can make pocket dimensions whos to say that someone from like 600 years ago during nicklous flamel's time or further back didn't make a planet sized one for the norse snek. also salazar might have just had the basalisk be there if any of his descendants wanted a sneky boi as a pet.

What if those "minions" that report to Voldemort were actually his well-placed horcruxes, Harrys scar would report on Harry, The Diadem can report on Hogwarts, and yadda yadda (I mean if you are gonna play with the canon might as well go wild)
Well the idea was that he hallucinated the horcruxes but not the Harry one, because he didn't intend to create it, and on the second part I can turn that into a joke that Harry was a horcrux that possessed him in his body and not in his mind

For Tom Riddles Diary, its interesting that just before you went over it you mentioned Lucian, because he literally gives it to Ginny as part of his plan. Im guessing Voldemort wasnt in on that plan either.
Qurriel couldn't get it because he wanted to get it and use it. Voldemort couldn't grab it because he wanted to get it and use it, and he didn't have hands. Qurriel was going to use it for voldemort, but since voldemort didn't have hands he couldn't do the spell or potion or whatever himself.
I had a theory that the reason the port key was two way was because Voldemort didn't want to reveal his revival to the world yet and needed more time to prepare. So he was planning to send one of his minions back polyjuiced into Harry to buy time.
Always assumed the obstacles in the first book were for harry to train him up sneakily. Since only the mirror was realistically an impediment to an adult wizard.

1st one starts off with near the end of the book 3, with Harry helping Hermione into the CHamber of secrets, to create ie a big Reset Button to prevent future harm in ala Groundhog Day,
however after a initial 'failure' it acts
2nd compresses and drastically alters the series entire plot into a single first year at Hogwarts, with HP being brought up as a scientist, after LIly used magic to help Petiuna to get better husband.

It's particular. Voldemort gave Lily a choice, a chance to back down without being harmed. Lily refused, and then was killed as a result of her choice, a choice that she had made out of the love she had for Harry. The two important parts of the love magic cast was that Lily had a choice, and Lily made that choice out of love. Snape's selfish desires had inadvertently saved Harry.
Or it all turned out to be because of some protection Snape put on her without telling anyone 😂

Voldemort sneaks back into Hogwarts by possessing Prof. Quirrel, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. The position that Voldemort cursed so that no one could hold it for more than one year. Seems to me he'd have been better off possessing the Magical Home Economics professor.
But then, Dumbledore isn't much better. He puts the stone in a magic mirror, where only a person who didn't want the stone could get it. Of course Harry shows up and gets the stone. So it goes from the one place where Voldemort absolutely couldn't get it, into the pocket of a child, who could have been easily stabbed by Quirrel, killed, and the stone taken.
You'd think that, when Voldemort touched Harry in the graveyard, he'd have been tipped off that the boy was an unintentional horcrux and you can't just avada kadavra his ass.

I'm conflicted myself, I NEVER want to support her and her stupid anti LGBTQ ways/ideas (plus other right wing ideology now), but Harry Potter isn't a bad story or anything, and in fact is pretty fun and interesting.
I mean, you don't buy the movies and books, but that's.... Not much if your still consuming other Harry Potter content which depends on the books and movies, though indirectly.
@@alericjohansen6775 I'm in the Marauders fandom, which is mostly build for that exact reason. It's a completly different fandom then the Harry Potter fandom and survives purely off of fan contend. We have taken the Marauders and everyone who existed in that timeline and run away with them.
I'm trans and I don't feel save in the hp fandom, but the Marauders fandom made an effort to change so much about canon that it's become really diverse In every aspect. For example disorders, Lgbtq+ and nationalitys.
I like the fandom and like everywhere else there are a few weird people but we mostly all stand against supporting her.
(Honestly, the fanfictions in that fandom are better than most novels)

I've never heard of the mauraders fandom, and am not sure what the marauders timeline is, however that's SUPER awesome to hear that you guys are finding a way to love Harry Potter, but not support Rowling, and be super diverse and supportive like that.
I'll have to look into that fandom. I'm not super into the Harry Potter universe, but I'd love to tout that group to people who don't want to support Rowling.
