I think I will be following in your foot steps. I plan on putting in a full solar 12V system with 2500W inverter. Great job on this.

Nice job Bobby, at least you had a fresh start when you ripped out the Japanese wiring. My elf is a mixture of the original and up graded wiring done by the previous owner. Its got an old school big analogue ammeter, but it looks cool. I also have the roof covered in solar panels and another house battery under the step into the interior. I was watching and saw the door to the power steering reservoir and coolant overflow tank, I thought that's different to mine, then remembered you gutted yours 😁 Looking forward to the next instalment.

Thanks! Yeah it is kinda nice to start fresh so I know what's what. I have to wait till August to start another project (moving this month) but next on the list is finishing the bathroom and I am hoping to add solar as well.

Hey fellas. I’ve actually got an elf ox myself. Hey Land Rover , do you have panels on the front up over the attic? I think it should be fine but I was wondering if you did and how it holds up. I have 600watts right now but thinking of adding 2 or 3 more (however many I can fit on the nose)

Bobby, if you ever run solar , renogy makes a dc dc charger that will trickle charge your starting battery when your house batteries are full. Seems like that would be sweet if you’re going to be storing it ! (I think you would need to lose the disconnect however)
The same charger also uses the alternator to charge the house battery but I usually leave mine flipped off when driving the elf alternator doesn’t seem big enough to send it 50amps

Hey Ben, thanks for that advice! I definitely plan on solar but not till after this winter. I will probably go with the whole renogy set up but I haven't even started the research so this will get me motivated! I don't think I'll ever store it haha we used it pretty hard last winter and I did not have undercarriage ready so I have my work cut to get it ready for the coming snow season

What size or cranking amps are you using for your starter batt?

Hi I have my Cyrix installed next to my domestic battery (like you do in the video). The negative cable is connected to the domestic battery and NOT to the car battery. Is there any danger of it not working properly or discharging my car battery? Much appreciated.

I couldn't tell you honestly but I want to say that's fine. Mine is connected to the fuse box that is also connected to my house battery not the starter battery and seems to work just fine
