It's great to see my home through the eyes of another. I've been getting a bit jaded of late and seeing this is inspiration for me to get out and start photography again. I'm really enjoying seeing Cairns through your eyes and getting your perspective on it.
Hi there just wondering n I no it's a massive long shot but by any chance do U no a lady called Dennis Rose or her daughter's plz. Just wondering as she lives in Cain's too .. thank you
Wonderful video Gabriel! I was fortunate enough to take four 3-week trips to Australia. For each trip...I rented a small camper van, traveling from National Park to National Park. It proved to be quite economical to have my transportation and lodging combined into one. I feel that is the best way to see Australia "outside the cities". Have a great trip!
You won't get crocs up there in that area you were walking near the waterfall you'll see the crocodile signs around the estuaries, beaches, swampy areas and rivers mostly. I personally wouldn't swim in any of the beaches in Far North Queensland the beaches are not crowded for a reason 😂 Snakes on the ground if you're lucky (or unlucky!). The sound of the insect you can hear as you're walking are made by Cicadas. Nice video I miss Cairns ❤
Thanks for showing a Sydney girl this part of my country. I love your perspective as a first time visitor to Australia. I haven’t been that far north it’s too hot and humid for me, but I can see it’s a beautiful tropical rainforest (not technically a jungle) with gorgeous trails and waterfalls. I’m sure there is plenty of wildlife in that forest hiding away from the sight seeers. We see a lot of wildlife in our suburban Sydney backyard with lorikeets, rosellas, king parrots, kookaburras, magpies and cockatoos all quite common and often landing on our back deck for a chat. We had a tree goanna wandering around our garden a couple of weeks ago. We often see blue tongues lizards and we had a eastern water dragon living in our backyard, swimming in our pool and eating stink bugs off our lemon tree for a few years until it went off to find a mate. No crocodiles of course :)
Without any markers and tables, I wouldn't have thought that something like this can be found in Australia but this continent is surely full of surprises. Nice video, nice adventure and nice drive.
For anyone scared of crocs , on the East coast below Rockhampton it’s not a problem. For example no crocs in the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast , all of NSW and Victoria
I was lucky enough to travel to Cairns when I was a kid. I remember swimming in one of those swimming holes. So refreshing! Amazingly, prehistoric looking foliage they have there, too. Not to mention the animals.
You need to get to the Daintree for Cassowaries, is an epic rain forrest, the oldest and predates the Amazon anything from 10-50 millions. There is jungle there that looks like it's from another planet.and you wont usually see Crocs, if you do it will be too late to enjoy the view.
Wow ! Another wonderful day in the life of your magical memories tour Mr Traveler . Congratulations on a spectacular video ... We the viewers are the lucky ones ! Good on you .
Thanks for the day mate. Be on the lookout for spiders, snakes, crocs cassawaries and other very sneaky creatures tomorrow mate. I'd like you to see the Daintree rain forest while you are so close. 😊😊😊. ie
Think you for sharing your travels. It helps me to see parts of the world I will probably never see. I love how you show us the areas that are not your usual tourist sites.
A blessed good day sir Gabe, thanks for your Excellent Wonderful Walk around drive Tour and Walk around video in Tropical Beautiful Paradise in Australia, stay safe Godbless from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Marvin 😍♥️🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi Gabriel, another enjoyable day of exploring you got to see some nice parks. I could imagine the summer, it must get hot and crowded there but overall, something to see and experience. The Queensland area has many of the wondrous areas around Australia. The state contains six World Heritage-listed preservation areas: the Great Barrier Reef along the Coral Sea coast, (Fraser Island) on the Wide Bay-Burnett region's coastline, the wet tropics in Far North Queensland including the Daintree Rainforest, Lamington National Park in Southeast Queensland, the Riversleigh fossil sites in Northwest Queensland, and the Gondwana Rainforests in Southeast Queensland.
Yes, it's the prettiest little Cove I've ever seen. Even swam there once, but only after seeing numerous people in the water and since no one was screaming we took the risk....the following day the park rangers put the netting back in place and said a crocodile had been spotted there the week beforehand lol!
I'm really glad you're doing this series Gabe, I've always wanted to go to Oz but it's so expensive and so far from the UK. Good to see it through your lens
@@Glenn-ei3xp I mean the travel there, looking at a grand just for the return flights. And I don't holiday in the UK too much, I can go to other parts of Europe, Asia etc and it's much cheaper than UK or Oz
@@JC-lu4se I've got a great job that pays well and lets me travel a dozen times per year. But if I can go to Asia in half the time and for half the cost of Oz then that's why I'd choose to go there. Probably why Gabriel took so long to go too. I get your comment was meant to be derogatory, maybe you've had a bad day, or a bad life? Maybe you should work on that 😁
So many great places to visit in Cairns. My sister took me rock climbing at Crystal Cascades once. She knew where this secluded water hole was. I remember jumping in the icy water and coming out feeling really CLEAN and refreshed. It was awesome wish I could go back there again. Without the rock climbing this time 😂
@@johnschannel449 a few minutes on TripAdvisor reading about the tourist terrors of seeing a St Andrews Cross spider is all one needs for a good laugh.
As usual, great content. I always feel like I know a place much better after one of your travel videos than most of the other videos on TH-cam. I hope you stumbled upon Bill Bryson's "In a Sunburned Country" about his trip to Australia before going. The audio version is particularly hilarious.
Just tried to find out if you can use a camera while driving and I think I would be very careful, distraction fines for a mobile phone usage could apply $1078
Man, I am so jealous. So beautiful. I can't even imagine being able to leave your stuff and still have it be there when you get back from your swim. Bizarre but gives me hope
That really lit me up after all the soggy cold weather here in California which is unusual as you know! I am thankful for the rain though. Those pools of water looked soooo inviting! Thanks for the great video,
For roos in the wild, you would have to head back south to Batemans Bay hwere they are all over the beaches in the early and later parts of the day. Even the birds etc aren't really their loudest until dusk or dawn.
I drove a manual car 🚘 in Slovenia 🇸🇮 where they drive on the right. As a British person from the U.K. 🇬🇧, we drive on the left. In the U.K., I drive a manual car, so when driving in Slovenia, it took only 10 minutes getting used to the right lane driving. The only issue I found there was that there was a lot of steep hill driving, which I was not used to, as a person coming from south east England, where steep roads are not that common.
Not sure how long you're in Cairns for, but you should do the train up to Kuranda and catch the sky-way back, could probably throw in Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation as well if time permits. Also, Australia has some of the most diverse food culture anywhere in the world, do yourself a favour and stop eating Hamburger!!!!!
Because you rented a Skoda, the blinker would have been on the same side you are used to. If you rented a Japanese or Korean brand the blinker would be on the right (the correct side for RHD vehicles). Please note the exception is some Subarus have the blinker on the left because they are built in Europe rather than Asia. It is standard in the UK for the blinker to be on the left, so in European factories they do not switch them for RHD builds. A small number of Subarus for the Aussie market are built in these European factories. All other Japanese and Korean cars are built for the Aussie market in Asia where RHD builds always have the blinker on the right.
I love watching your videos. I love to travel. I remember watching you years ago and happy your channel is high rating. Keep up the good work on your adventure.
Gabriel, Thank you for the hike around in the lush jungle , and around the water holes . Wonder if there is a rule of thumb where if you can hear kids squealing and adults laughing , water splashing , clear water , there will be no crocs . Or would crocs be interested in the fast moving water around the water falls ? Even if no sign seems a bit scary ! In the Southern USA, where there is water, even in a golf course pond , there is probably a gator . Dark water rivers , with all the tanin , there will for sure be gators . You never disappoint . Thanks for a pleasant walk about !
I don't think it was a coincidence that last night I had a dream with a whole lot of crocodiles in it. And they weren't any nicer in the dream. You messed with my mind, Gabe. :) Be safe out there down under.

Just a heads up: you will get serious fines in most parts of Australia for driving whilst holding a phone or camera. You’re supposed keep both hands on the operation of the vehicle at all times.
