I have some favorites (in no particular order): Pulsar 8200 & Massive, Sonnox Oxford Inflator & Limiter, and pretty much everything Eventide. My favorite reverbs: Liquid Sonics Seventh Heaven Pro & Cinematic Rooms Pro, and finally Relab LX480. Also, I suggest you look into NoiseAsh as they have some really good Pulteq and Neve plugins.
Apogee makes a great Pultec that is endorsed by Pulse Techniques the makers of the Pultec. That’s the one I have. I love Acustica though. I have a ton of their plugins.
So I see you used a lot of these on the mix bus do you suggest using multiple various plugins on the mix bus for example would there be a need to use god particle with apogee or would that be overkill?
You can actually use the Apogee before going into God particle because it's a soft clipper so it's going to clip those transients before going into God particles limiter or you can even use decap clipper before going into God particle which will probably be a better combination
Usually these videos are awful because dudes are just sharing some random stuff they bought and then saying that's the best. You're more insightful and your knowledge is deeper, your choices are based around trying to actually stay on the cutting edge to get a competitive advantage with mixing. Keep up the good work.
The god particle can make good mix sound better, but it can make a mix sound great mixing through it. The final mix on TGP going through master plan can make it commercial ready. If I use MP before TGP it’s for a quick hot 2 track reference.
See I’m running my retro like you got… And then I have my blacked out MPC, 2500 JJOS… And then my MPC 2000 XL so I’m using that SSL for my MPC analog beat hub. That’s really the main portion so far and I got 2 old school hard disk 4 track Akai DR4d’s 16 bit… I’m getting ready to incorporate into my workflow… But then I’m running into an Apollo… Mastering with my portico… Pretty close to your rig
