I installed the monster ram on my 2011 about a year and a half ago. I had 162k miles on stock intake and when I took it off, the grid heater was fine and the killer nut was tight and secure. Here's what I have noticed in real world use since the swap. The piece of mind over the killer bolt issue is immeasurable, and worth the insane price. The change in performance and fuel economy is imperceptible. The coil intake heater is subpar in cold weather. Have noticed that truck is harder to start on days below zero. The manufacturers grid heater is much better for cold weather start ups. So, basically it comes down to, is it worth $1000 for peace of mind. That's a personal choice

Gained tons of horsepower major increase in MPG and most of all peace of mind. No more egr, no other bull crap to ruin an engine. Not “50 state compliant” but I refuse to neuter AND cut short the life of my truck.
Currently running the ram intake, air filter, fully deleted, tuned, built rfe, truck has 241k miles (2012 3500 Cummins), makes a safe reliable 600-650hp to the wheels, tows everything under the sun like it isn’t there, blows the 37x12.5s off at any speed under 70 (really…these trucks make a tsunami wave of torque that doesn’t quit), gets me from my house in Maine to my property in Boston (165 miles on way) and BACK on 3/8th of a tank, and has NEVER left stranded. I’m into it currently for 38k cash doing much of the work myself. My personal truck. I have other Cummins work trucks all with the banks touch. Nothing compares. But a mildly built, lifted, big tire Cummins with cow catcher bumpers requires a direct hit from a meteorite to stop them. They’re INCREDIBLE. I’ll never go back to anything Duracrap.
I love mine and can tell a Big difference, and I can hear the air when I give it the throttle! I also did another thing that will make my engine last and no longer need the def, and I went with a 5" exhaust with no restrictions from front to back!
I installed one of these monster Ram intake elbows and it works great. Especially when towing heavy loads. My Cummins even idles way smoother than the stock intake ever did. There's a climb in Arizona on the 17 freeway from the Phoenix area going north and it pitches to a 6% grade and I've gained 10mph going up that grade towing my 5th wheel trailer plus gained 1 mile per gallon with my Monster Ram Intake.
Sadly Banks does not make a cold air intake for my 2024 GMC SIERRA-3500-HD 6-6L-GAS. I had to go with the S&B. But it fit like a glove and the install instructions were spot on. I like Banks a lot, just wish they had more products.
We don't offer one yet. We are still developing and testing the Ram Air intake and the Derringer for the 2024+ L5P Duramax. The 2024+ L5P Duramax trucks have new updates for emissions regulations and new computer systems. Because of these changes, they are even more sensitive to any major changes like air flow rate and temp. We must work with these changes, and unfortunately, that has forced us to change harness and programming on the MAF module that is included with the Ram Air intake. It's coming this year.
I have this exact Monster Ram on my two 6.7 Cummins. ABSOLUTELY the single best upgrade.... ESPECIALLY for a stock engine. I also have the equivalent on mytwo 5.9 pickups. Heater grid is not an issue there, but improves spool-up and mpg even more than for the 6.7 engines. PS, it does not increase HP or air flow, ie CFM. It broadens the power band by spooling the turbo faster & sooner. The head limits the air flow, so this increases the volume of air, because it's compressed air. Bottom line; it literally makes a noticeable improvement.
I added the 5" Monster Exhaust, Pedal Monster w/ iDash, Monster Air box (oiled), and Banks' intercooler tubes. I noticed much better power when pulling my 5th wheel. BTW, the Monster Exhaust eliminates the useless muffler which you don't need, the DPF acts as a muffler. The truck is very quite except for the cool sound of the turbo.
@@jameseroh6544 I used the hillbilly method. I towed 19,000 lbs over the Malad Summit bone stock and then again after installing the Monster Ram. The truck didn't struggle like it did bone stock. Amazing how being able to breathe helped it along.
I put A monster ram on my 2017 ram 6.7 as a precautionary measure because of the heater grid issue and it was amazing. I towed a loaded trailer 10,000 lbs plus 2,000 pounds in the bed from the west coast 1500 miles over US 40 and it felt like I was empty. The power increase was unbelievable everything else was stock non deleted.
Just bought a 2024 6.7 Cummins 2500. First thing im adding to it is the monster ram and their super ram air intake. Pretty much anything that Banks makes for Diesel im adding to my truck to extend its life. Im gonna be paying off 68,000 dollars ima squeeze every bit of life out of my truck.
Notice the 90 degree angle on the Monster Ram - it's shaped like that so as to keep the air flow performance, whilst allowing for such a angle of direction change. Clearly designed by someone with knowledge of fluid dynamics! 👍
The manufacturer should be paying for all engines damaged by those bolts falling into the engines, and there should have been a factory recall for them.
Look inside the new Banks monster ram, nice and smooth, even roughly finished reduces air flow capacity. Dave I had an early 5.9 Cummins, about 1987 not in a truck but in a Massey Combine, inter cooled, that was rated at 220 engine horsepower. I don't think it had a grid heater. Let me tell you this, it made amazing power for sure. Full tank of corn , running 6.5mph in 140 bushe to the acre corn unloading on the go with a 6 row 30 inch centers corn head. In extremely cold weather I had to give it a little shot of WD 40 before starting, that Cummins would come to life Dave. Massey Combine went into receivership in early 1988 if I remember correctly. Oliver designed the machine but never produced 1 machine, they were in receivership 1985 or 1986. Now they make a bit bigger Cummins for the Dodge Ram I see from your videos. Clean air supply is critical for any engine to efficient and have long life. I was involved with pre cleaners for combust air back when the IH 400 series engines were new,it was dryer than a popcorn fart, the soil was exposed all winter without much snow or rain,it was a dust cloud we worked in, visibility was made 20 yards. About 5 hours and the air filter element meter was showing clogged filter. A new outer element was $90 man back in 1970 ! It had an inner safety element for a safety. The beginning of disposable air filters,if you tried to blow out with air you put a hole in it ! Block man from IH was cool to talk with and learn how to from. His exact words, don't ever remove the outer element without a new replacement, the seals on the ends of the element are designed to seal 1 time. Looking at the indentations he was correct, I saw several engines being tore down because of dirt in the engine, the rings go first, next it's hard starting in hot weather. These tractors were still under warranty when this happened. Cutting corners cost the owner the warranty claim.
Had my 2014 6.7L with 78,000 miles changed over to the Monster Ram. The first thing I noticed was at idle the engine was breathing. I bought the truck used and had always thought it sounded like it was gasping for air at idle. My mechanic didn't want me to spend this much money, but after he installed and saw the difference on my engine, he is now pushing the Banks system. And he said the factory grid heater bolts was still tight, but the carbon build up was really bad.
There has been one issue with Banks and putting on the Ram Air Intake on these Ram vehicles. The check engine light comes on for EGR. I added all the banks parts, Ram Air Intake, boost tubes, monster ram and exhaust and after 6 hours of driving, the light came on for EGR. I drove 2 hours to my lake house, then hooked up the pontoon and drove another 4 into Canada before that light came on. The strange thing is, on my way back from Canada, the light went out and hasn't come back on. Im not concerned as it is a known issue and Banks is working on it, but apparently this doesn't happen with every install.
@@JS-zb1vv I understand and want to but I live in a state that requires emissions in most counties. I’m seriously considering registering in another county and deleting.

unfortunatly the carbon is not going away until that extra crap that is going to the intake horn goes away. It is a good system and I am going to be putting it on my truck (I don't need the emissions compliant though). From what I have seen I want the grid heater replacement so I goess I'm going to buy the emissions compliant one just going to be using a blockoff plate to get the heater. great content.
On a stock truck, this is only insurance. You will lose a little low end torque and power unfortunately. I wish Banks was more open about it, but his dyno results have been conspicuously missing. Still FAR better than needing a new engine.
My 3500 has 20k miles on it now and I think I’ll be ordering one of these soon. Maybe eliminating some of the problem causing parts too. Would love to have my truck on the channel for a few of these upgrades and to remove some of these problem parts…
Can you please expand on this Monster Ram. Im told that unless you have an EPA complinace tune in addition, that you dont get much added benefit of the Monster Ram Intake. Would it be possible to dino that to confirm. Im definitely interested in that intake.
On lifted trucks, instead of letting the air out of the tires and potentially damaging the tires I just take the front wheels off since it's already get up on the hoist. It takes 5 minutes to just remove the front wheels, than you can drop the truck almost right down to the rotors.
Would you mind showing or explaining specifically how you loosened and retorqued the #5 & 6 fuel lines as well as how you torqued the right rear (from driver’s position - top left from mechanic’s perspective) bolt attaching the intake to the plenum?

I love Banks products--R&D is outstanding.
My 12v cummins, I just installed a twin ram and it's really worth the money. Banks knows his stuff!
These two guys working together is like the Batman Superman crossover movies. God bless I hope I see more
Nice informative video! Banks inbox will have 50 more orders tomorrow morning! Excellent product promotion!!!
We’ve been waiting for this collab for awhile!
Stay tuned.
You can just feel the power emanating from that monster intake😅 Gale Banks has had a lot of practice over the decades 😉
I've been a long time Banks customer. I've never been let down. Great products!
My oil alone is so much cleaner now after I cleaned everything really well during the process. I love it.
My oil stays very clean with weight loss reduction.
What a great collaboration you and Gail
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Dave has become a schill for Banks.
Do you own a diesel truck? Didn’t think so, so you don’t have a clue what you are talking about!
You have a '24 model truck.....
They are the best in the business banks is the real deal
hi dave love the channel thanks for educating us❤
I have this exact Monster Ram on my two 6.7 Cummins.
Thanks for the share 👍
I added the 5" Monster Exhaust, Pedal Monster w/ iDash, Monster Air box (oiled), and Banks' intercooler tubes. I noticed much better power when pulling my 5th wheel. BTW, the Monster Exhaust eliminates the useless muffler which you don't need, the DPF acts as a muffler. The truck is very quite except for the cool sound of the turbo.
Are you sure about your statements? Banks talks about air density, not CFM. Do you have flowbench numbers to back up what you say?
See how far honesty, integretty and communication get you.all the way dave, gr8t vidieo.
Notice the 90 degree angle on the Monster Ram - it's shaped like that so as to keep the air flow performance, whilst allowing for such a angle of direction change. Clearly designed by someone with knowledge of fluid dynamics! 👍
The soot is such a killer. Take that EGR off asap.
You guys rock! Keep wrechin
Gae and Dave building an engine would be insane how has no one sponsored this yet???
Love these videos. Dave is dope
The manufacturer should be paying for all engines damaged by those bolts falling into the engines, and there should have been a factory recall for them.
Lawsuit!
Class action lawsuit
Lots of luck. Ain’t never going to happen because the big three have a ginormous amount of money!
True. They are just now (years later) getting to the recall on the HCU and ABS Modules. A recall on the bolt heater might happen in my lifetime??
What would happen is you added the dimpled piston with what Banks does??? I love this channel!!
Speed of Air pistons, I agree!
It breaths better at idle😅😅😅😅😅 tell me another joke , do you work for banks or any association of any kind ..
Excellent Dave! Do they sell these to Australia? You know we pay DOUBLE the price for fuel than you guys? It sux ass!
Banks trully knows his stuff, and so do you sir 🍻
Love from norway 🎉
thats awesome that it has E.O. number. thats absolutely fantastic
Great video Dave
Why is there no recall on the original junk ? Should be a class action lawsuit for repairs caused by that!!
Gale Banks, please do a video with Dave!
The collaboration will happen.
I work at a dealership. One of the only trucks I’ve seen with the monster ram, the heater element exploded and sent porcelain through the engine.
Would love to hear a podcast featuring Dave and Mr. Gale Banks. It would be the ultimate knowledge download.
Been watching y'all, and Mr. Banks videos this sounds right.
I have a 2021 Ram 3500. I'll be upgrading with a bunch of Banks equipment soon.
i thank god for making fellas like gale banks and dave
EGR's. Destroying diesel engines since conception.
@@cwilks5592just delete it !!!! The federal government doesn’t have to have any of the emissions on their vehicles and get the made without it .
@@JS-zb1vv I understand and want to but I live in a state that requires emissions in most counties. I’m seriously considering registering in another county and deleting.

Don't know many states that do emission testing on diesels
Yup. And banks fan boys love EGRs while Dave actually knows engines and knows EGRs are bad news. We don't need banks.
Dave plugging how much he loves his kids is so warming
I have yet to see anyone including banks to out an engine or chassis dyno before and after the intake install.
I would like to see a dyno comparing the before and after change in HP/torque.
🔥🔥🔥I have all the banks stuff in my TJ
I would love to see how you would build a street LS to live while being turned up to about 500 HP. I trust your team, but not many others make that particular cut. PLEASE and Thank You
Best insurance you can ever put on a diesel is actually taking things off of it..... Iykwim
nidkwym
Depends on the diesel
My 2 favorite automotive teams joined together :)
I have it, truly awesome product, Mr Banks is best, you need his monster ram.
Thank you for the great endorsement!
Banks products are awesome!! Gale is a genius!
I wish you had a shop on the west coast.
unfortunatly the carbon is not going away until that extra crap that is going to the intake horn goes away. It is a good system and I am going to be putting it on my truck (I don't need the emissions compliant though). From what I have seen I want the grid heater replacement so I goess I'm going to buy the emissions compliant one just going to be using a blockoff plate to get the heater. great content.
Just ordered mine!
Thanks for sharing from Australia
Hey Dave!, put your seat belt on brother. We need you around for a while. That's another piece of insurance 🕊️
My parts accidentally fell off going down the road 🤷🏻 ironically it runs so much better. I went back to get them but I couldn’t find them.
Have a Gale Banks power intake on my ecodiesel, made that much more torquey and the fuel economy is around 26 mpg average, 31-32 on the hwy.
I wanna see a collab with banks and you guys! That would be amazing!
Can you please expand on this Monster Ram. Im told that unless you have an EPA complinace tune in addition, that you dont get much added benefit of the Monster Ram Intake. Would it be possible to dino that to confirm. Im definitely interested in that intake.
You might consider the Derringer from Banks.
I put one on my 2012 Cummins. Definitely worth it!
My throttle response is way quicker and I have to push the throttle less overall. Can definitely tell the difference
That’s good is the diesel mileage better or the same tho ?
@ about the same tbh. I notice a difference when I add fuel additives
Dave and his crew are HI-QUALITY Technicians!
On lifted trucks, instead of letting the air out of the tires and potentially damaging the tires I just take the front wheels off since it's already get up on the hoist. It takes 5 minutes to just remove the front wheels, than you can drop the truck almost right down to the rotors.
Not so much the CFM, but maintaining the air density. Best achieved using the banks intercooler
Would you mind showing or explaining specifically how you loosened and retorqued the #5 & 6 fuel lines as well as how you torqued the right rear (from driver’s position - top left from mechanic’s perspective) bolt attaching the intake to the plenum?
I pray they put back the emissions for legal purposes. Once my 5th gen is out of warranty I’m adding the Monster ram and deleting all that junk!
Be honest, so much carbon it looks like a commercial for a weber grill.
