This unaired convo between these 2, where they acknowledge that the 104th corps are their friends, gives so much more depth to the confrontation that they have with the Scouts later that same day. When Connie asked them whether any of it was real or it was all just a lie and Bertholdt bursts out that of course it was all real. Then he brokenly asks someone to save them... To which Mikasa replies that they need to give Eren back. I had always pitied Bertholdt but now it's so much worse.
