      Honeysuckle, I think the marketing on the coconut water is a scam.. coconut water NEVER TURNS PINK RED GREEN OR ANY Color.. sorry

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm questioning the pink in the coconut water as well. I grew up in SE Asia and drank my fair share of coconut water from the coconut and in cans in the US...never seen it pink or any other color than cloudy-ish water color. LOL! thought they tinted it with pomegranate juice or something like that. I'll have to google now and see if this is even true.

      Doodah Gurl, I'm from the Caribbean and neva seen coconut water turn a color.. even the coconut water from coconut man in the jug. This company doing some crazy marketing and adding color

    Just a couple of friendly corrections: Matcha isn't a different variety of green tea, its actually regular green tea leaves ground up, which is why its so concentrated. The water for matcha should actually be NO MORE than 175 F, because water any hotter than that will cause it to be bitter. Also, matcha doesn't have just "a little bit of caffeine," it has A LOT of caffeine. It just doesn't feel like its as much as coffee because it is slower releasing caffeine. I hope this helps(:

    • @thatdude350

      I think what she meant is there is a very distinct way in which matcha is produced. Matcha is produced using tencha. Tencha tea is, in fact, a green tea (it's rarely consumed as a loose leaf tea though). However, it is grown using very different methods from other green teas (Besides maybe gyokuro. And I won't bother explaining it all but you can check out videos on youtube if you're curious). So in a nutshell, she is absolutely right, matcha is not regular green tea ground up. If you ground up regular green tea and try to drink it like matcha, it will taste bitter and overall unpalatable.

      Thank you, I am finally enjoying my first non bitter matcha latte as I used to boiled the water and milk to be very hot and never understood why everyone enjoyed it while my was bitter.

      Yes !!! and also has TONS of antioxidants, protects lives, helps with weight loss etc.... The two MOST imp. differentiations are culinary matcha and ceremonial matcha which is the best to drink as tea. Another important thing, if you are new to matcha, be sure to buy always radiation tested matcha -- Enjoy it !!

    Just watched a clip where they mixed with cold water and shaker with ice ( sort of like a mixer for Martini) and it was reported to be very smooth and less bitter.. since the hot water brings out the bitterness of tea.. I have to try both and find out myself.

The taste of numeric was too strong for me. i even added more matcha powder but the cannot get over the tumeric taste. Love coconut too but couldn't taste coconut milk in this drink. Could this be caused by the type of matcha we use? Will coconut creamer makes the drink more creamy & perhaps more delicious? :(

  • @patty-cf7jj
    @patty-cf7jj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    No matter how much I whisk green tea powder (and I do have one of those bamboo whisks) I always end up with undissolved powder at the bottom of my cup. Is that why you’re supposed to make it in a little bowl and gulp the whole thing down as is done in tea ceremonies?

    • @jordansmith6627
      @jordansmith6627 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A few things could be causing this. First, make sure you're using high quality matcha. Unfortunately, this means the matcha should be a little on the pricier side. Also, if your water isn't 175 F it won't mix as well. However, be sure not to go over 175 F because the tea will become bitter.

It's just not natural unless it had to be added after. Just asked my parents and they never seen pink either.

      You have no idea. I'm such a hoarder of all things kitchen, crafts, etc....watch for me on that show "Hoarders". LMAO! I was thinking you should come help me clean out my kitchen and teach me to only buy things I'll be using that week or month. I should take a pic and send it to you on Instagram of my fridge/freezer and spice/herb cabinet and all my newly acquired cast iron that I've been seasoning all week long.
      I just picked up a cool collaspible steam/French basket, floating kitchen/camping scissors, and a "rosette & timbale set" (got a recipe for this?). And tomorrow, the cutest honey jar is coming. I saw you using honey and thought how you really need one of these, too: www.amazon.com/StudioSilversmiths-44153-Beehive-Crystal-Honey/dp/B008GOZXQS/ref=sr_1_4?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1516926383&sr=1-4&keywords=honey+jar
      ....because you know, I have 3 gallons of various honey as well. LMAO! Good thing it never goes bad. JN Cooking Channel told me the other day we'd make good neighbors. :)
