RIP for sure... I don't know why but losing Sinead today and the reminder of losing Prince (the day the music died if you ask me)... really makes me so sad. Definitely the nice times of our lives... Miss them all, MJ, George Michaels, Prince and now her

I grew up only a couple of miles from Prince's stomping grounds. I had numerous encounters with him as it was inevitable in the relatively small town of Chanhassen. He watched me pitch a little league game from underneath a tree at Lake Ann park near his home. I delivered pizzas to his house and to his studio numerous times when I was in high school. I was witness to his intimate late night impromptu shows at Paisley Park more times than I can count on two hands. Anyone who might suggest that he isn't the greatest live performer of all time simply hasn't seen him in concert.
Prince never released it, therefore Sinead O'connor's version is not a cover. During an interview, Prince expressed that Sinead's version is the Definitive version.
@VillaDan Doesn't have to be released to be covered. Prince recorded the version you're listening to in 1984, Sinead covered it, amazingly well, in 1990. Tbh, the best version of this song anyway, is by Chris Cornell in 2015, for Lithium. Well worth downloading from here 👍
It's my personal opinion that Prince was likely the most complete rock star we've ever had the pleasure of listening to and be entertained by -- he was an elite-level singer, songwriter, instrumentalist (of multiple instruments), composer, producer, lyricist, dancer, performer, choreographer, and showman. A very few in the history of late 20th and early 21st Century western pop music (all genres from rock, R&B, C&W, soul, hard rock, metal, and so on) can claim to score straight-A's on all of those categories -- Prince is one of those few and may, in fact, be the only one who can.
@@thewaywelive2775 Why don't you do some research on people who project passive-aggressive behavior towards those they don't feel comfortable with and come back with the results. You might learn something interesting about yourself in the process.
Prince attempted to assault her (physically, not sexually) during a meeting because of something he didn't like about it. But you think some 5 foot 1 American geezer is going to get the best of a anybody who grew up in Ireland during the troubles? Not a chance. Doesn't sound like he was the best person ever. Sinead was a gem though, a beautiful soul with more troubles than Ireland, maybe she finally be at peace
@@leighlowe1069 As @brian5307 wrote, she was born and raised in and near Dublin in the south, so she didn't grow up in the Troubles, though she had a tough childhood. You should read her biography.
Prince, has one of the most amazing vocal ranges in history, 6 octaves. He wrote so many famous songs and just gave many of them away. Played appropriately 27 instruments. Known for his intellect and talent. A true legend.
And to think this video is of a REHEARSAL!!! Now it is even .more evident why his actual love shows were so damn energetic... The man didn't know how NOT to be a fully energized entertainer be it before hundreds of thousands of people or just practicing with his band! Love forever to arguably the best all out entertainer that I have ever known in my 40+ years in Earth. Singer, song writer, dancer, performer, influencer, mentor, and philanthropist ... 1 year gone and missed like we were related. 😪
This makes me cry. I dont care what anyone says, Prince was such a rarity. I still cry over his loss. He understood more than people realised. It wasnt just as a black man, but so much more. He seen his mother abused, he'd been abused, felt like an outsider to his own race at times and his own sexuality. To me as a part Native American woman whom always have felt as an outsider to all parts of herself, Prince helped me to accept my uniqueness. To embrace my ownself and be open and acceptining of love and friendship. I will forever mourn such a amazing human being. He was a person for all people
Boy Jules oh shut up! How many black men wore heels and makeup and were comfortable with being that way and straight especially back then? You are reaching!!!!
His loss hit alot of people hard. He was one of a kind, and irreplaceable. Prince is who inspired my love of music. Thanos to my mom I have loved Princes music since I heard his Purple Rain album. RIP💜💜
Prince may be the greatest all around artist. The electric guitar, the exquisite song-writing, the pitch-perfect, instantly recognizable voice and, probably most importantly, those DANCE MOVES! I'm 36, too young to truly know Prince, but he was definitely a genius.
I'm 35 so likewise, I'll never be able to know Prince the way people who grew up with him. But you know what? We have the time to get to know the history and thankfully we get high quality videos like this ♥
Those dancemoves, unnecessary if you ask me, ultimately 'killed' him. Pelvisproblems, strong painkillers and ultimately the fatal unintended overdose....
I am of an age to remember him very well but not listening at the time. His death hit me like brick and won’t forget where I was. Saddest news, listening now I wish I had heard him sooner. He has gone from us, rest in peace beautiful child and thank you for the cream of the crop, priceless talent
Prince Rogers Nelson, what a musical and instrumental genius! Such an underrated guitarist and lyricist. He taught himself how to play 27 different instruments!!! 27!!! I cant even name that many. I hope he found peace in heaven that he couldn't find on Earth. RIP dear Prince.
@@nathanrobbin6341 hes extremely underrated!! If you listen to experts talking about the greatest guitarists of all time, his name isn't even mentioned. Clapton, Hendrix, Page, etc. All the usual suspects but never The Purple One. His guitar playing was absolutely breathtaking.
Sinead covering this song brought a different angle to it because she had supermodel beauty in those days and her version was polished up for radio RIP to both of them
Befor caping on a person cause of spelling find out about them befor ruleing He made it yes but samples it first befor she sang it hello that's what I was saying .I'm handy cap and people like you treat me like I'm dumb ok I'm dumb but you are a fucktard
This was really interesting to find. I came here because of Sinead passing away and wanted to give Prince due respect for what was his creation. Its really interesting to see it being performed here so early - he mixed it up over the years in his concerts, but I like hearing what it sounded like in his mind not long after he'd written it. Beautiful product of not only Sinead but Prince too. A wonderful partnership.
@@bazingacurta2567 That’s your opinion , We all have one ,, Sinéad’s is on a totally different level , but I also really like Prince Version , See that’s My opinion, that’s how it works …, We can be adults & appreciate both …
Awsome Vincent - my favorite Prince is early, early Prince - when he was hungry to make it. I love him to death, but the early years are my favorite, you can totally feel it 💜
Thank you for the work you put into this channel. I love listening to interviews. The anniversary of his passing is in a few days, feeling a bit emotional.
I had always heard this song was written by Prince. But because we have lost Sine’ade I decided to see if Prince actually sang the song and I found this video. His voice is hauntingly beautiful. Prince was incredibly talented. I saw him in 1984 in Lakeland Florida. Best concert I’ve ever seen. May God rest both of their souls.
I love the sax and the dancing and it's quite a different but beaut version of Price performing it I definitely love love his song Purple Rain Great Artist. 🎶🎶🎸
SAME! I was like omg how is a prince song more known by a different artist?!? I whole heartedly feel like sinead was the one, if anyone else, to make this such an iconic hit.
Absolutely mind-blowing! Prince's original version of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' is a testament to his unparalleled songwriting talent. While many know this song from Sinead O'Connor's powerful rendition, hearing Prince's soulful vocals is a deeply moving experience. The raw emotion and vulnerability he brings to the lyrics are simply breathtaking. It's a reminder of his incredible range as an artist and his ability to connect with listeners on a profound level. Thank you, Prince, for sharing this timeless masterpiece with the world. Your music continues to touch hearts and souls. 👑🎶
@@davidb9531you could say that it's better mixed in the studio, better overall sound and a beautiful voice performance from Sinead. But technically, musically, this is more sophisticated.
@assorita3861 exactly, and some people don't even know that it was prince song and he sang it. So all they know is her version, but they have to listen to PRINCE SING IT. Wow, AMAZING !!!!
I'd be honored if some Prince & Michael Jackson fans would check out my acoustic piano & vocal covers of MONEY DONT MATTER 2 NIGHT and MAN IN THE MIRROR on my channel in tribute to these 2 giants of popular music who had an amazing rivalry with each other. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and RESPECT to the legends.
I was so glad to be living in Minneapolis when he passed. Nothing compares to the love the whole city showed when he passed. The whole city was purple to celebrate his life. He was too ahead of his time with everything. His music, his style and how humble he was.
Folks I will say it again, you have it reversed, Prince is not covering this song, Prince wrote Nothing Compares 2 U in 1984, Sinead did her cover version in 1990. Here are some other songs you may not be aware of that Prince wrote, and either gave away, or that were covered by other artists. The list is huge, these are just a few. Manic Monday covered by the Bangles, this song was originally recorded as a duet with Apollonia, and some of the music/backup vocals by Brenda Bennet are still in place on The Bangles released version. I Feel For You covered by Chaka Khan, written by Prince in 1979 and released on his 2nd album of that same year. He gave a song called With This Tear to Celine Dion. The Glamorous Life and Love Bizarre on Sheila E's albums (and 95% of the other songs on those albums), is all Prince. Same for The Time with Jungle Love and The Bird. He gave a song called U to Paula Abdul for her Spellbound album. Sugar Walls was a song of his that he gave to Sheena Easton. For the song Stand Back, Stevie asked him to come to the studio to listen to the song, and that is where in 25 minutes, Prince laid out the entire keyboard track for the song, that is him playing on the track. Could go on forever, Prince was everywhere in music, most of which he never took credit for or cared to brag about. Peace
Beautiful. I was his neighbor in the late seventies and eighties on Lake Riley. I lived in Eden Prairie right down the street from where this was filmed. My school bus went in front of his purple house. I was in love with his music at about 8 years old, around 1983. I remember little red corvette playing on the school bus radio as we went down the street he lived on. When you are that little, we just thought, thats where Prince lived. We did not think it was anything more than that, or at least, I did not. I just loved his dirty, sexy, sounds. And the odd part about it is, when he died of opioids, I was shocked. I live in SF now and my brother texted me and said Prince is dead. I left my graduate school classroom (I was going back to school in my late thirties at the time) and I just walked out and bought a bottle of vodka. I walked up to this big, black, bad ass bus driver and I said, Prince is dead. (The news was barely out. My brother happened to be just near paisley park at the time and texted me immediately.) The bus driver said, "no way." He got on his radio and called someone, and came out, and said, "son of a bitch." ....Needless to say, I went to downtown SF bar and bought purple hooter shots for the whole bar and they played prince all day and that night. Then, my mother died of opioids about a year later. We were neighbors. He was probably the most famous black man in MN and my mom was just a modestly poor ex-social worker and they both died of the same thing. The irony and the closeness was a lot to handle. But I thank you Prince for everything you did for the community in my hometown. And my mother too. She was wonderful. Be careful. Opioids, aint nothing to be fucked with. RIP Mom and Prince. Lake Riley, MN. Eden Prairie and Flying Cloud Drive. xo b
This has brought me peace, and changed my perception of the vault material. But seeing him smile and have fun makes me realize that he lived his entire doing what he loved. Not just creating music for us, but to see him just enjoy himself when no one was listening is the greatest gift that I could have gotten. Thank you Prince, you knew why you were keeping these gems locked away, because you knew we would need them while you were gone.
I once had the opportunity to attend an event where his drummer, Bobby Z, spoke about him and described that although Prince had more natural talent in his little finger than most could ever dream, he was also an extremely hard worker. He just worked, worked, worked to perfect what he wanted each song to be, sound like, look like .... So much love for this human being.
Chris Cornell’s cover is so good. I didn’t care for the original release by Sinead, although her voice was amazing-I was unaware at that time it was a Prince original. Prince was such an amazing artist and a beautiful human being 💜 he left us with so many amazing songs and memories.
The best part of this song when Prince sings it is the verse ( All the flowers that you planted mama , in the back yard , ……. All died when you went away ) the somber feel of that verse makes your heart drop into your stomach & makes you hang your head in sorrow . It’s like he was crying when he spoke it . You truly feel his pain .
RIP to both Prince and Sinead. I lost my sister in 2015 and lost my brother this January 2023, both to mental illness. So I understand the struggle. Miss them so much. Lost them and all my fav artists. Michael Jackson, Prince, Sinead, Whitney and more. No longer do they have to live in anxious pain or have to wander.
Not only did Prince write songs, but he played most instruments and produced music. His hands-on approach gave creative power back to artists. By taking full control over the direction of his work, Prince was able to shape the sounds that still influence countless musicians to this very day. Prince's multifaceted talent on numerous instruments was crucial to his musical legacy. He created a unique sound that blended funk, rock, pop, and R&B elements, and his virtuosic playing was a key part of that sound. 2:34 [Indie Band Guru; Olimpus Music]
People on here praising O’Connor when the video is about Prince! Maybe their praises of her need to belong on her video of her doing the song. You don’t need to be butt hurt over a Prince fan praising him - he was a genius, she wasn’t. The end!

Goodness, how beautiful! What a lovely surprise! Two years to the day after Prince’s shocking, tragic, & untimely passing, the timely release of this wonderful song is a poignant reminder of his unique, outstanding talent as a songwriter and musician. The accompanying rehearsal footage is a testament to Prince’s prowess as a dancer and performer, as well as reflecting his impressive commitment & relentless work ethic. As many fans have expressed already here, I find it very moving to watch this priceless rehearsal footage, whilst listening to Prince’s emotive original version of this classic song. Appropriately for me on this 2nd anniversary of his passing, this is a song about love, loss, abandonment, and especially about missing that somebody so very special that one truly adores. Lyrically I think it is one of Prince’s most accomplished compositions, conveying his broken-heartedness so very potently (‘Nothing can stop these lonely tears from falling’). For many years I had been under the impression that his love for Susannah had inspired Prince to write this amazing song, but apparently Susan Rogers seems to think that it was written about his housekeeper (Sandy Scipioni) back in the early eighties that had left his employ due to a bereavement. Listening now to this beautiful song about loss & yearning, all I can say is she must have been one heckuva housekeeper! :) Having heard Prince sing it so powerfully and emotively on many occasions live, it is absolutely amazing now to reflect that he was still singing so passionately about this woman so many years later. I haven’t heard any of this recording of NC2U before, so it’s completely new to me. I thought that Chris Cornell recorded a pretty good version as a tribute to Prince, but to my ears this original recording totally eclipses that, the Family’s rendition and Sinead’s hit version too. How many dislikes of this already though?! Sheesh, I didn’t realize Sinead had so many TH-cam accounts! :) This rendition probably has a more rock orientated arrangement than I expected, though this, coupled with Prince's expressive vocals, still masterly renders the song hugely emotional and soulful. Right from the start the keyboard part surprised me. To me it sounds strangely frail and vulnerable, almost like it is an old failing Casio. For some strange reason it kinda made me think initially of John Lennon (say like 'Imagine/I am the Walrus'). This recording precedes Prince’s fine ‘Around the World in a Day’ album, which coincidentally is an album, which I had incorrectly thought was influenced by the Beatles. I have since fairly recently read a quote from Prince, which seems to dispel any such notion. It’s interesting to me how wildly I can misinterpret Prince’s work and influences, even after all these years being obsessively immersed in his music. The initial burst of guitar came as another surprise to me. It’s nice to have Clare Fischer’s string arrangements complimenting the song (albeit buried not very prominently in the mix), and I think Eric does his usual fine job, embellishing with his sax solo, before the superb ‘all the flowers that you planted mama in the backyard’ bridge. To me this rehearsal footage is genuinely stunning and a joy to savor, as Prince demonstrates his natural gift for dynamic dancing, with spins, splits, & some pretty nifty footwork…all in 3 inch heels no less! 3:57 Awesome! :) And we even get to see Prince rocking a fur coat just like my momma used to wear when I was a lil’ kid! Awww, sweet! :) I gotta give props to Wendy and Mark for managing to keep up with those steps whilst playing in the clip, which is no mean feat. Prince worked the band so hard, that Bobby’Z not even allowed to sit down on the job, whilst drumming! :) I like the moments where he seems to tease Wendy with the mike, and it’s great & life-affirming for me to see him having fun, doing what he loved (playing fantastic music & dancing). There are a few really cute smiles from him too for us to enjoy. If this is any indication of the jewels in Prince’s vault, we fans still have a lot to look forward to. Nothing compares 2 Prince…something those of us who love him to bits certainly don’t need reminding. Two years ago today we lost Prince, leaving many of us feeling bereft, ‘like a bird without a song’. Thankfully we still have the cherished gift of his fantastic, funky music to love on. Like so many folks around the world I miss him terribly. I hope & pray that he is now at Home with the Lord in ‘a better place’, God-willing. At this solemn time of year for diehard fans, it is thoughtful and generous of his Estate & Warners to release this exquisite song and precious video footage. Thank-you so much for sharing this absolute gem with us!
Thank you for putting in to words (& so eloquently) how legions of fans out there are feeling. The anniversary is a tough one to get through. This release is incredible. We will never stop missing our Prince.
Losing Prince Rogers Nelson was a genuine loss for the world. He was truly a musical genius. He is our Beethoven. He is our Mozart. Thank God he recorded so much of his work and kept it. We may have lost the man, but we are blessed to still have countless hours of his music the world has never known. In the years to come, we can still hear new renditions of his brilliance.
This brings tears to my eyes. So beautiful to hear his version of his song but to see him prepare to rule the world is amazing too. But the biggest part is, i miss him so much. The world is so empty without Prince here in it. The song is so true, when it comes to Prince, “Nothing Compares 2 U” 😢😭💜
I was never that keen on the famous version, I couldn't get past the coldness of it. This is the first time I've heard this, it's so incredible, so REAL! 💜
The precision, the vitality, the youth: what a time to have been alive and enjoying the man's music and artistry! This brings back such great memories from that time...
He was something to behold live during his earlier career! Raw insane unleashed sexuality mixed with spirituality.. it was life changing to see him live.
Prince is a musical genius. He worked on music continuously day and night. It's said that he has thousands of unreleased songs. He has made an impact on the music industry that will always be remembered.
Prince looks so young and vibrant in the rehearsal footage. He had no idea that he was a legend in the making. Prince was always so pretty and handsome until the very end of his life. He aged like fine wine, but it was very obvious that he was feeling tired and weary in his spirit 2wards the end of his last days. 💜 It seemed like he became very lonely, restless and bored at the very end of his life journey in this world. God Bless His Beautiful Soul 💜

I cried through this entire video--watched it on large screen TV. I felt like I was in the front row watching him do those splits in heels, the GREAT moves, guitar riffs, and that voice! “So sexy!" Oh gawd I miss you Prince!! He sacrificed his body, his hips were so destroyed from all that dancing that he took opioids to bear the pain. Here was a Jehovah’s Witness who didn’t drink, was just a DAMNED FINE MAN and he died b/c of unrelenting hip pain. He could have stopped performing, stopped road shows...but he was the consummate musician--he lived to make us ecstatically happy. “I would die 4 U!” And he did. Love you Prince!!
This version still gives me chills every time, incredible song. Still mind-bogglingto me that he couldn't find an album to put this on and kept it buried instead.
This is not true tho? This was a The Family song, not just a solo prince song, and it was in their first and only album, The Family. It was just an awful album that barely sold.
@@johnpatrick4934 I know he gave it away. But as an example Kiss was originally given to Mazarati but then found its way on to Parade. This incredible version of NC2U could have been on any number of his albums in the 80s.
I believe he did release this with the group the Family, and then Sinead recorded it later. And I've read he didn't give her permission to record the song, but maybe thats not true. Not sure
Amazing! Love seeing the rehearsal footage, too. Wish I could have seen them all together back in the day. Loved seeing Wendy working the choreography as well. Nostalgia time!

@@AngeBiampandou @AngeBiampandou you don't say? You mean the only version that was promoted, with a music video? You realize prince created the song right? Prince was one of the singular geniuses, not just of his generation but of popular music as a whole. His songs readily combined the spiritual and the sensual in a way nobody has done quite that well before or since. He transcended race, gender, and genre effortlessly.

@VillaDan Doesn't have to be released to be covered.
Prince recorded the version you're listening to in 1984, Sinead covered it, amazingly well, in 1990.
Tbh, the best version of this song anyway, is by Chris Cornell in 2015, for Lithium. Well worth downloading from here 👍
@@Nezzer57 nobody did it like her (Sinead) when u listen to Sinead is pure sentiment.
A very few in the history of late 20th and early 21st Century western pop music (all genres from rock, R&B, C&W, soul, hard rock, metal, and so on) can claim to score straight-A's on all of those categories -- Prince is one of those few and may, in fact, be the only one who can.
he is my favourite musician/artist of all time. He was the total package!

Superb

Prince may be the greatest all around artist. The electric guitar, the exquisite song-writing, the pitch-perfect, instantly recognizable voice and, probably most importantly, those DANCE MOVES! I'm 36, too young to truly know Prince, but he was definitely a genius.
I’m 21, so even younger than you, but I love Prince so much and agree that he’s one of a kind ❤

Prince, Sinead & Chris Cornell all performed this song amazingly & are all three gone now. Wish I could see any of them live once in my life. RIP.

The best part of this song when Prince sings it is the verse ( All the flowers that you planted mama , in the back yard , …….
Having heard Prince sing it so powerfully and emotively on many occasions live, it is absolutely amazing now to reflect that he was still singing so passionately about this woman so many years later.
This rendition probably has a more rock orientated arrangement than I expected, though this, coupled with Prince's expressive vocals, still masterly renders the song hugely emotional and soulful.
And we even get to see Prince rocking a fur coat just like my momma used to wear when I was a lil’ kid! Awww, sweet! :)
I gotta give props to Wendy and Mark for managing to keep up with those steps whilst playing in the clip, which is no mean feat. Prince worked the band so hard, that Bobby’Z not even allowed to sit down on the job, whilst drumming! :)
I like the moments where he seems to tease Wendy with the mike, and it’s great & life-affirming for me to see him having fun, doing what he loved (playing fantastic music & dancing).

FIFY. Yes he did. Yes he did...
He wrote Manic Monday too .
rest well
I think been a too many emotional person will kill you someway somehow. You better have a balance as much as you can and you will be fine.
I recently got into prince and wow. The man was talented. Flamboyant and strong. It sucks that I’m liking his work when he’s gone but I can still indulge myself in his work and even appreciate gems like these. I might have not grown up with you but I can grow old listening to you. You are missed.
That's so very cool to hear, good on you! And wow, you are in for the trip of your life! Getting into his music is life changing, in a good purple way. O(+> 4ever
Discovering prince is like discovering a massive treasure chest .. i been a fan since 1993 when i heard PEACH ob radio an got a copy of the single an the. Ended up getting THE HITS 1 an 2 an then knowing that i had to check out eveeything the giy ever done before an after an i did .. some albums are al9t better than others but theres gems on em all
Very nice said, I have similar experience with his music - I revealed it after his passing, but I can grow old with it 💜
It's never too late to truly appreciate art.

Uma obra de arte, eternizada na voz Sinead O'connor !! Linda demais nessa versão com o criador !!
I didn't realize how much I needed this until it arrived.
Rest In Peace, Prince. We miss you.👑 💜💜💜💜

His spirit and music will live on forever!! 💜💜💜
Especially the Dave Chapelle bit with the basketball. Prince was at his best!
Helen Eschenbacher....Very well, stated!!! I still can't believe he's gone as he was my first concert at 7.
Nothing Compares To Prince. GODBLESS
Just finished watching the video and I’ve been staring at the screen for 5 minutes. I’m just speechless. This version is everything.
RIP Prince 👑
I can totally relate...I did the same thing!
With his strong dance moves, it would have been so cool to have seen him move on ballroom floor w a dance partner -talk about taking the lead! Whew
Same. I wish I got to see him live.
I'm honestly kind of pissed that I've had to live my entire life without this..
Chloe Dassler Same. Idk why they never uploaded his music videos and exclusive bts footage. :/
A Legend gone, but NEVER forgotten! We love you Prince!💜
RIP 😢
GOOSEBUMPS!!!
He was a genius beyond even himself.
RIP Sinead and Prince ❤ brilliant tune. Both versions hit me hard 😢
Amazing to hear him perform it.
Jo Daddy's Garage extrem trauriges Gefühl
Jo Daddy's Garage aber schön
I agree. At 50 years old, I get emotional listening to his songs.

Ya can't fake talent, and ya can't hide it either...this man was extremely gifted.
What about michael jackson? 😏
@@Acervorochagames yeah? What about him?

Not sure
@@angiearbogast5424 No, she got permission. If the 2 U in the song title is any indication.
The energy!! And it's only a rehearsal? The man is just incredible!
youre supposed to go full out in rehearsals. thats what rehearsals are for. thats where the magic happens.
The footage is from the rehearsal. The songs you hear is the first studio version.
Prince was a firm believer in the, 'practice the way you are going to play' school of thought.

Fu*kn AMAZING
She brought in the emotion that the song deserved.
nothing can stop this lonely tears from falling...
even his rehearsals were on point!
Amazing! Love seeing the rehearsal footage, too. Wish I could have seen them all together back in the day. Loved seeing Wendy working the choreography as well. Nostalgia time!
Prince did the best and original version, thank you brother
Amazing. Gone and still trending.

Kali Primp just like 2 pac and biggie smalls😂😂
Thank you to the Legendary Prince for writing this song that allowed Sinead O'connor to turn it into the masterpiece that it is today!
Rest Easy in Power ...
Sinéad version has nothing on this. God rest her soul, but her version is nothing compared to the original.
@@WavyJayZyou sure bout that?
@@WavyJayZ Her version is one of the best selling and most iconic hits on the 90s decade tho
@@AngeBiampandou @AngeBiampandou you don't say? You mean the only version that was promoted, with a music video? You realize prince created the song right? No doubt her version was iconic, but anyone with an iota musical acumen can hear the clear difference in vocal ability and delivery. Prince was eons ahead of her musically. Hence why her biggest song was of his creation and not the other way around. It's pointless for us to even compare catalogs because you can clearly hear it. Now of course it's objective but if you're gonna argue Sinéad was a better singer than prince then I can't even trust your opinion on music in the first place.
@@WavyJayZ Just bc someone prefer her version does not mean that their opinion is not valid. Grow tf up. Sinead version was more poignant. Thatswhy it was able to resonate with much more ppl as well. It was heartfelt abd gut wrentching. I don't think she's a better singer than Prince neccessarily tho. It's two different versions. And I said what I said either way. I'm not back tracking
Prince was one of the singular geniuses, not just of his generation but of popular music as a whole. His songs readily combined the spiritual and the sensual in a way nobody has done quite that well before or since. He transcended race, gender, and genre effortlessly.
I was terribly saddened by his passing. the industry will have a significant loss. I also believe the story told concerning his death is not the FULL story
Bowie was the only other one in this level...
L'amour ouf ❤
This is a gift to the world. Rest easy, you amazing man.
This version of this song is a masterpiece.
the original and for me the best.
Trending from the grave, legendary!🔌
I will never forget his halftime show at the superbowl. Breaking into Purple Rain as 10 inches poured down on me. Best show ever.
Simply put, the man was born to be the consummate musical genius; the likes of which we will probably never see again in our lifetimes. We were blessed to have him and his music for the short time he was here; and thankfully his music can live on forever. RIP Prince.
nonabliss You know it!
He was precious. He had such a hard road. Knowing all his struggles.. I have so much respect for all that he did meanwhile enduring hardships. He made it look easy and yet deep down his personal journey in life was anything but. ❤️
What a legend, wearing heels and dancing some sick moves.
When you mention cool it’s just Prince hands down! The best performing ever!
