    Thanks for your non-dialog video. Sometimes people is babling on and on.
    Your video is so beautiful that words are not necessary.
    I hope to do the GR 221 in the end of september 2023.

    Beautifully captured. And at last a video that shows some bad weather. Be aware though that wild-camping is not allowed in Mallorca and doing so can be fined well into thousands of dollars. This is especially so in these days (2024) when protests against tourism are mounting.

    well done Avish, one of the most underrated trails although still famous hike. I spend many years in Mallorca and the Tramuntana mountains are magical! Most videos online are more high tours or even alpine like,but this is also beautiful Maybe with additional drone shots it would have add even something extra. Enjoy your future hikes!

    Great video. I’m in my 50s and reasonably fit but by no means an experienced hiker but would love to do this walk. Do you have a list of equipment you took. I noted that you didn’t wear walking boots with ankle protection ? Was there no need as looked quite rough terrain in parts ? Thanks

    Great movie! I plan to do similar trip next week. Please tell me how about water on the way? Where do you wash??

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Water is scarce on trail. Drinking water, You will find one shop on every stage, where i would buy 2-3L everyday. I also had a filter with me and could filter occasionally if i passed by a stream ( but i would not rely on the streams, most were dry)
      For washing, i used merino clothes that don't require much washing. if you really want a shower, you could rely on official campgrounds and use their shower.

  • @Munawirtum
    @Munawirtum ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi there! Great trip... Got some questions... How much money do you spent on that hike, and mainly what did you bought (water, gas, food in cafes etc) and how many people come across on the road, I love tourism alone in the wild, I have the impression that crowds of tourists go to Palma, but on your video you can see that you are often alone and there seems to be no one around? Thank you.

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there.
      About Money: i would say around 10 -15 euros per day to buy supplies (water which is very scarce on trail, canned fish, fruits and bread) This exclude cost of 1 gas canister and transport to get to the trail head. Obviously if you sleep in hotels and eat in restaurants your you have to factor in additional cost.
      About Crowds: I hiked early in the season so you are right, i didn't meet a lot of people. In lots of stages i was completely alone on trail for hours. Tourists stick mainly to the main villages so once you get into the wild you won't see lots of them.

      @@adventuresofavish Thank you very much, your answers are very inspiring! I’m interested in budget tourism in a tent, it’s wonderful that here it’s strictly with campsites and you can put up an awning wherever you want!..

  • @Munawirtum
    @Munawirtum ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another question, I know that in the Canaries (this is also Spain, like the Baleares) there is legislation that obliges tourists to register and stay only in campsites ... On the path of dry stone in Mallorca, can you stop anywhere? Or did you also stay in special places, campsites? Thank you... Looking forward to the next videos, they are exciting!

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just walk a few km outside of the villages into the wild, there's lots of place to pitch your tent. I would pitch around sunset and leave early morning and it was totally fine. I prefer the freedom to roam and explore, registering at campsites is not really my thing.

    Hi Avish, nice vid! I've done the sections from Valdemossa to Soller. They were pretty straightforward. However, I'd like to do the first sections from Port d'Andratx, but I'm aware that waymarking is not great, and there are disputes over access. How did you find this, please?

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a beautiful part and you have great views from the top. Also water is scarce on this part, so carry enough. For navigation, Yes waymarking was not clear but you should look for piles of stacked stones leading the way. Also use an off trail app to navigate. I use maps.me and OsmAnd and you would be fine :)

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it was quite easy compared to other hikes i've done. There are a lot of flat spots around the hiking trails. You just need to look around a little bit.

    How do you find a spot for camping? is there a map that shows them on-line? what about water fountains?

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Camping spot is not very hard to find. Use of a map is not necessary although it's useful if you know how to read contour lines. Usually one hour before sunset i will start looking around me while hiking. Lots of place to camp, just get out of the villages. Water is something i had to buy everyday, usually 2-3 litres. Water fountains are not really there

      @@adventuresofavish Thanks I've done it now. Taps outside Rifugio Tossals Verdes and Lluc monastery. 2 tap fonts on trail between Soller and Barranca de Biniaraix. Couple of fonts in some of the villages but I forget which ones. I was okay with 3l liquids including 500ml energy drink or hydration salts but that is very individual.
