Loved the video, one of the best I've seen for the GR221.

Hi Karen and Paul, fantastic video. Well done on a great trek. Where did you buy your gas from? We are flying into Palma and then getting the bus to Port d'Andratx to the start of the walk but need to buy a screw top camping gas cartridge before we start.

Hi folks, fantastic video, thanks 0:23 for sharing. I’m doing es Capdella to Puerto Pollensa over 6 days starting 13/04 and been watching a few TH-cam posts just to get some tips etc (although I did several day hikes from Soller last year so not a complete Mallorca newb). Your post is really informative and entertaining (goats with Spanish accents 😂).
Lucky you weren’t there 1st March so missed Storm Juliet! I’m told most if not all of the route will be open again by mid April…. hopefully 🤞
Look forward to your next adventures (and web site). 👍

Thanks for watching and for sharing the info David, I had heard snippets about the storm which brought a lot of snow cutting people off at Lluc for a while. It would be good to ask the locals about any detours and changes as you go if you’re planning on hiking it soon.
Enjoy your hike, David, is that route the GR222?

@@mybigfreelife Hi, it’s actually just an “alternate start” route for the 221 as described in Cicerone. Shorter by about a day than stating in Andratx meaning I can do the route in 6 days. Day 1 is es Capdella to Banyalbufar - not entirely confident on that, a long day at least.

That looked a tough walk Karen on what looked really rocky paths and what seemed plenty of uphill walking, hope your knees stood up to it well as you were having trouble with them on the Coast to Coast walk weren't you and hope you and Paul enjoyed the walk.

Hi Howard, Luckily my knees seem to be fine now thank goodness 😅 and keeping them a bit bent when going downhill really helps. It was such a beautiful walk - I highly recommend it.

    Hi Karen and Paul.
That was a very enjoyable video to watch, you guys looked like you really enjoyed it despite the change in weather. Fair play to you for sleeping in a bivvy. The video is a great help to anyone thinking of doing the GR221. Was camping gas available in the towns along the route or did you get it in Palma city ? Look forward to catching up on some of your other videos, Take care 👍

Thanks Andrew :-) sorry for late reply, we ordered the gas from Amazon Spain and got it sent to a friend's house in Palma. It is definitely possible to buy gas in Palma and other places such as Andratx, but our APG stove is fussy and Primus gas was hard to find in stock. 😊

Thank you for sharing this! I am planning to walk the GR221 starting next Thursday and are doing my best to plan everything. About the weather, when did you do the hike?

Thanks for watching 😊We did it at the beginning of February 2023, so you'll most likely find the weather better than what we had. Have an amazing trip - you're going to love it!
