    M. Avish. Thank you so much for this masterpiece. As said by Sam, one of the most beautiful i have seen on YT. Much respect and congratulations for what you did and the way you did it. I was sitting in front of my screen but i could feel the freshness of the water, the whirlwinds in my hair, the sun on my skin and it brings back memories of myself reaching the summit of La Roche de la Muzelle, la Barre des Ecrins, l'Ailefroide and other beauties we can see in this video. Simple steady shots, sounds of nature, quiet musics, superbe editing and shots composition... Bravo

Bravo.

    Great video, best GR54 one I have found on TH-cam. W are going late July. Hope to do it in 9 days. I see you wild camped. Can you camp near the refuges or is that not allowed.

      Hey thank you :)
      yes, you can camp near the refuges, some of them will allow you to camp nearby for free as well. One of the most beautiful campsite i found was near refuge de vallonpierre, overlooking the lake. see 20:43

    Ça ne s'appelle pas le Tour de l'Oisans ce Tour des Écrins ? Le véritable tour des Écrins c'est du pur alpinisme de haute altitude par des cols peu pratiqués et des glaciers pentus et des cols tels que le col des Écrins, le col de la Roche Faurio, le col de la temple.....etc y'a plein de variantes pour qui connait les lieux. J'y ai passé une partie de ma vie dans ce massif. 👋🏻😊

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks :) The max altitude was around 2700m. The temperature at night dropped to around 4, 5 deg depending of the elevation.

    The GR 54 is one of the trails that was recommended to me from a Swiss couple I ran into while hiking the John Muir Trail here in the U.S. From your videos I don't see very many trees if one wanted to hammock camp or camp with a little privacy. Can you recommend any hikes in Europe where I might find more trees & lakes? Thx!

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. The reason why you don’t see any trees on the gr54 it’s because most of the hiking is done above tree line. For trees and lakes you can check Norway and Sweden. Also, On Mallorca island, Spain you can hammock camp but you won’t find any lakes. You can check my video on hiking the Gr221 in Mallorca.

    Very nice, plan to do this next summer, can't wait, your footage is great! So didn't you do the last stretch from Montier les Bains to Le Bourg d'Oisans? Why did you stop there? Run out of time or was it planned like that? How did you chose your camping spots? Did you plan in advance or did you go by the flow? Thx!

    • @adventuresofavish
      @adventuresofavish  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was planned like this. I already covered the most beautiful part of the trek so the remaining 2 days were not really worth it for me. Btw, i hiked anti clockwise covering the wildest part first.
      As far as camping i would stop when i was done for the day, no particular planning. There are some spots i passed by that were so beautiful that i would stop and pitch my tent by 3pm. Some other days i would be hiking from sunrise to sunset. It really depends :)

    • @soerenjordan
      @soerenjordan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adventuresofavish thx, that's a good information, yeah, I realized that you did it anti clockwise, I was sitting with my map watching your hiking movie, already knew, that some parts of the tour des ecrins are in rather boring ski resorts,...maybe I'll copy your approach! Like it , great work, thx again : )
