Hey. Apologies to everyone who tried to look for the Fan Fiction link but couldn't find it. That's because I'm an idiot who forgot. Here's the link (and I've also updated the description) - www.fanfiction.net/s/13370351/1/Tale-of-the-Northern-Kingdom.
I really appreciate someone finally making a chronological overview of Middle Earth. There were so many lore videos out there that I wasn't sure where to begin. This video series makes it crystal clear.
I can't help but see parallels between Arnor and China's Three Kingdoms period that coupled with the Disorder of the Eight Princes almost annihilated the country in internecine civil wars before being ruined by an outside threat for a time.
If Professor Tolkien had only ever written just a medieval fantasy novel called *The Wars of Angmar* he'd've still become very famous! Astonishing creative imagination.
It's great, but there are about 5 other major LotR lore channels on YT. They all seem to cover the same lore/major topics, albeit slightly differently and in their own styles. Wish there was a bit more variety among them!
@@nairb2693 but I think out of all those channels, his is the most different from the norm. He presents in a much more off the cuff style, and he focuses on pretty different things (How many soldiers in Gondor's army?)
Thank you for a wonderful video. I find it sad Arnor suffered a lot of bad luck. I think the king that died under mysterious circumstances was murdered actually. I just realized some similarities between the Roman Empire and the lands of the Faithful. Gondor survived longer like the Eastern Roman Empire. While Arnor like the Western Roman Empire fell into decline and collapsed from internal strife and invasions. But thankfully there is a happy ending. Arnor will be restored by King Elessar.
You just made my day by posting this! I've been looking forward to the next episode in this series for a few weeks now. I was beginning to think you had discontinued the series but I'm happy to see that's not the case. Great job as always! Can't wait for the next one. Much love from one of your American brothers.
It's sentient in the sense that it's an extension of Sauron's will. It's demonstrated several times that it is aware of what is going on (slipping off Isildur's finger in the river or escaping Gollum when Bilbo arrived).
I like to imagine Valandur was killed in a mûmakil jousting accident. Thats how I’d want to be remembered as going out if I died violently under mysterious circumstances
Could've been due to a lack of soldiers. Or maybe it no longer fulfilled a strategic purpose against Angmar. Amon Sul stood in a good position to defend Cardolan, but Arthedain could just as easily be attacked from north of the Weather Hills.
In my opinion Valandur (the 8th king of Arnor it was right?) died with some rebels from the Hills of Rhudaur as those men were always in hostile moods towards the Dunedain and I don't think Arnor would interfere in any fight outside it's boarders like in Angmar
Since Arnor split into 3 kingdoms, I believe that Valandur was murdered, since to split a kingdom like Arnor you have to be very arrogant, maybe Valandur was such a person
Valandur's death occurred 200 years before Arnor's split. It's possible that his death was a sign of turmoil within the kingdom, but I believe it was far more likely that the split had to do with Earendur's sons disliking each other.

Great story! I just read it!

You have a great content.
One day, this channel will blow up

Annúminas in her prime would have been an interesting place. Aragorn did have it rebuilt in the Reunited Kingdom. Would be even more intriguing then.
I'm more of an Arnor man myself. So I agree.
@@TOTCD Same
@@ThePalaeontologist Thah and House Baratheon especially under Robert is my fav house in Game of Thrones.
Coincidence? I think not...
@@TOTCD haha nice, though I'm more of a Stannis the Mannis guy myself. I love Bobby B as well but Stannis was smarter. Robert was funnier though.

Man the story telling of the war of the north gave me goosebumps cause how good it was.
Where is the link to your fan fic? it sounds interesting

Just realized I completely missed last episode....? Disregard what I previously said lmao. Sorry!
Interesting and educational for fans of LOTR world.thanks for sharing! 👍🤜🤛
Jesus man, where was Gondor? Do they ever help out allies?!
Sometime during the separation of Arnor: "Where was Gondor when the eastern provinces fell?"
I can't find the link to the fanfic about Arnor in the description... Am I not looking properly, or is it not there? 😂
It’s there for me
I believe Valandur died from a trial by combat Game of Thrones style purely because of how awesome it would be.
Is the One Ring of Power process Sentience as in it has a mind of it's own and knows what's going on?
It's sentient in the sense that it's an extension of Sauron's will. It's demonstrated several times that it is aware of what is going on (slipping off Isildur's finger in the river or escaping Gollum when Bilbo arrived).
Nice Zoolander reference!👍
Can you please do a video on Eonwe?
Radical 🤘🏼
More please
Remember when Boromir was like "we kept your lands safe." Shaming everyone during the council of elrond. Gondor is disappointing! Curse of man!

Have you any thoughts about why the Dunedain did not rebuild Amon Sul?

Cool
Any1 want a movie / movies about Angmar and war in the north?
Wheres the link?

Your opinion is definitely the leading theory. There's really nowhere else he could've possibly been slain during this time period.
He went for ciggies and never came back
Am I the only one who got the Zoolander reference?
