I’ve kept my 701 Svartpilen for 2 years hoping they would release a new model with the parallel twin. Should ride as good as the Duke 890 with the design of the Savrt and Vitpilen

@@ScottD1 I'm about to get the vitpilen 401 in white. Did you tried the Vitpilen or you knew the svart was the one you need?, I want to commute 65km a day on mostly good roads and good weather too (Mallorca) I haven't try them out yet, but I like the looks better of the vitpilen tbh
@@JP-xd6fm I hear you. I did some research before buying. I like the looks of the Svart more, and luckily it better suits my commutes- NYC. Lots of stop & go traffic, bad roads, pot holes, construction. It's been the perfect bike for me. The sitting or seated stance is important too. Svart youre sitting upright, more comfortable. Vitpilen, youre leaned over more, as its intended to be more of a racer, so the stance ia more aggresive. Sounds like the Vitpilen would be perfect for you based on what you described. Bit maybe wait for the 901? i outgrew my 401 very quickly, it was my first bike
i still love the 701 the best tbh. and would love to see them go for production again
Imagine making your bikes so ugly it justifies the existence of an entire, successful company that basically just restyles them.

Love it. I just really hope for two things:
1. That they make them a little bigger (the 401 and 701 are very small).
2. I hope they fix that abomination of a radiator. That really bothered me on the 701 models but not so much on the 401.
Overall I love the husky design and I hope they keep the price down. The launch price for the 701 was 14k!!!!!

I ride a vit 401 and damn I want this! I was kinda hoping they’d keep the low clip ons for the vitpilen look. The Svart and Vit are not looking too different now. Also missed opportunity to create a unique TFT circular dash! I always thought the circular dash was a unique design feature on these bikes.
Love it!!! Perhaps it would have been better to base them on the 790 to keep the price down. The Duke 790 is $9199 and the Duke 890R is $12,949 in the US, regular Duke 890 not sold here. You are absolutely correct about orange and styling of the KTMs. I would not buy one because of that.
That being said, these 901s are the greatest looking bikes.

As a Vitpilen 401 rider I’d love this to be my next bike.
This needs to happen! My 701 Svartpilen is my favorite road bike. It does street stuff incredibly well, has enough power for fun, but not going to prison fun, looks understated so law enforcement doesn’t think you are doing any hooligan stuff and just looks cool.

Been on the 401 Svarty for 3 years, this makes me drool. Had the chance recently to pick up a 701 Vit, and as tempting as that was, I knew something else was coming from Husky... I will say- the 401 is all the bike I personally need, I WANT more everything lol, just to see ;)
I own a Svartpilen and this is huge news for me, especially because Husky ditched the twin-cylinder prototypes for their medium CC segment and I've been considering such brands as Benelli or Triumph when the time to upgrade comes along. These Huskies will be pricey in Latin America but I think they'll be worth the effort.
As someone whos been eyeing the Indian FTR Carbon ... I like the look of these overall. If I had to pick one I'd definitely go with the Svartpilen just for the riding position.
Reminds me of the nuda!! Kinda like a replacement of that bike with same engine configuration 270 crank and naked styling. Now all we need is a svartpilen 1301 and the circle is complete.
If it's anything like the Nuda 900 then this will be my next bike. What a time to be alive!
They could produce an 801 too as per the reissued 790... keeps their options open in a busy market sector.

I have the Svart 401 and would def go with the Svart 901. I'm used to bigger torqy bikes. I love the 401 but it's small.

I would love the 901 I think. I'm actually looking to get something else soon. I've had my Street Triple RS for 3 years, which is amazing, but a 901 twin with a big dirty exhaust and some retro styling could sway me!
The new RS is pretty amazing as well I love the competition in this segment
@@ryanblacklock3005 The new RS is amazing actually. Test rode it a few weeks ago and it feels even more lively than my 18 rs. I also rode the Kawi z900 rs and was super surprised by that. Such a fun bike considering its classic styling
I'd rather have a Svartpilen 701, but I understand your excitement at a 901. The 701 looks a lot better to me. The KTM TFTs are dreadful. I have a 390 Duke. I hate the TFT.
May i know why you dislike the TFT?
@@AthishPV The bike would look better with the Duke Mk1 dash. I don't like a big rectangular dash on a bike of that style. It's difficult to read, too.
@@user-sw2lv3zp6o I've the 390 Adv and aside from some condensation and it randomly going black every 5000km, it's one of the easiest displays to read. If they fixed those bugs it'd on point.
@@otlndsh It's easy to read the speed and revs, but if you normally wear reading glasses, the rest is difficult. I don't like the layout, either.

Very cool. I’d have to agree with some of the comments. Yes I would rather own the Svartpilen 701 and Vitpilen 701 over these 901 versions. To be fair though I’m sure they’ll look a lot better painted when they finally come to market. I’m still trying to get my hands on a 2020 Svart 701.
Was really hoping for a Svart 501. Little more punch but close to the same styling and not a huge jump in price.

I was set on buying a Triumph Trident based on looks but this may be the better buy.
I’m in the same boat. I’m between the trident for the looks and triple for the performance this bike looks like a perfect mix of the two.

As I recall, they stopped making the 701 back in early 2021 due to lack of interest but with all the interest in the 401 now, I really hope they bring it back and update it like they've done for the new 2024 Duke 390.

Hello Bob! Could it be the 790 engine? Are you sure it's the 890? Well, this is a bike for me! Whether it will be the Svart- or the Vitpilen remains to see. Ergonomics will be the most important feature here since they both are good looking!

I absolutely loved the idea of the Husqvarna Vitpilan 701 when I was shopping around for a new fun, do it all sort of bike back in 2020. I ultimately went with the BMW F900R because that “do-it-all” also included some moto-camping/touring duties so the twin engine of the Beemer beat out the single. But, fairly recently out of curiosity, I noticed the Husky site no longer displayed the 701 models and only the 401, did they not sell wheel?? In any case, I’d be very interested in a 901 variant with a twin 😁
I think the 701 had a few important mechanical issues, or at least that's what I heard....I have a vit 401 and love it, sad about the 701 since I like it better.
Nice vid. They are cool bikes & it'd be Vitpilen for me but I'm not sure they're different enough from each other or the KTM's on which they're based. It's basically a body kit on a Duke, albeit a nice one.

What about the 501's versions? That would close the gap between the 701s and 401s. It would be great for commuting with a 500ish cc twin
Looks great (if you like Marmite, which I do) and a logical move. Fair to say this works better as an all rounder only bike that can commute/tour and even handle a track day whilst turning heads? (though I wouldn't want to be a pillion for long, the 901 at least seems to give more of a nod to accommodating one than the current models solo snubness, all be it pushing them off the end a bit). It's making me look at the 701 again though owners wail on reliability and there a lot of arguably better options at least on value when buying and maintaining. I think it still comes down to how much you like Marmite and how much Marmite you like! :-)

I wish these had come sooner but I guess not that surprising seeing how long it took the 901 Norden to come out. A little bit confused as to why the two bikes look so similar. Might just be the spy shots/development mules?
KTM based Huskies tend to straddle niches a bit: the Norden is an Adventure Tourer so I'd expect the Vitpilen to be a cafe racer - supermoto and the Svartpilen to be more of an all rounder - UJM with a nod to some practicalities (perhaps a bikini fairing or fly screen, or broader seat, or less aggressive peg position, or sturdier sub frame with luggage prep etc to go with those higher bars).
Either way, I'll be very disappointed if these aren't at Cologne or EICMA this year and in UK showrooms next Spring. I wonder if there's anything these will have in common with the forthcoming 890 SMT?
Svartpilen for me. Sold my 2020 790 Duke due to build quality, durability issues and rock hard seat. I now own a Street Triple R 2022 MY. If they fix these issues on the 901, including hard seat and snatchy 790 throttle, I'm seriously interested. Cheers Scott

I still wish they were going to make the 490/501 bikes, but at least they are finally bringing a twin cylinder engine to the Vitpilen and Svartpilen lineup.

Hey Everyone! Last week I bought some engine guards (stainless steel) and already have corrosion spots. They only been exposed once in a 30min shower rain! Any suggestions on how to preserve them?!

I would love to see the Svartpilen in 2024 available here in the US... but I am still tempted on picking up a used 701 if they don't.
It looks beautiful, but it might be too much power for me (at least for my first bike, but also in general). I was disheartened when they discontinued the 701, but maybe with the 901 the exhaust note will sound decent. Shot in the dark if they somehow made one closer to the mature-entry level bike category (svart/vit 801?) - here's to hoping

Hi Moto Bob, I have a Kawasaki Dominar 400 , basically it’s a KTM 390 motor with a Kawasaki tag to it, it’s my main ride while I’m in the Philippines, I enjoy the KTM Motor design. Looking forward to the new Husky. An American lost in the Philippines.

That's really interesting thank you. Owning a Vitpilen 701, I do not know what to think about the 901. But anyway, Panigale V2 or Tuono V4 It is for me if above 100 HP lol

The 701 is nicer to look at. More minimalistic and will probably also handle cityriding better than these new bigger models.
701 is Lighter, more nimble it has plenty of real wold performance. Thats the whole idea of the Vitpilen/svartpilen concept in my book.
Not sure I like the flat sides on the tank being that big. They were perfect on the 701... but they don't look quite right on the 901. I may change my mind when they're painted up with the stickers on.
The Dukey sells in numbers, whereas the Husky is a bit a niche. But the Huskies will be even more agile, they've always been more narrow in shape . I hope though, they retain the round simple looking dial.
Huskys just seem to be overpriced ktms with different body kits ngl. Wanted a 401 a long time ago but couldn't justify the price and risk with the ktm rep

Any news on release date? Been studying the pics and judging by the KTM 2024 models, this will be a 790 called 801 which would be perfect for my needs and budget.

A Husq 901 could definitely pull me away from my 21 MT 09. The looks alone seem worth it. Hope this is real and that we’ll see reviews in the near future.

Doesn’t look like clipons are possible with that tank. Guessing flat handlebars like some bikes have will be the solution.

Somehow these don’t have the charm of the 401 or 701. They look a bit generic if anything they should’ve not discontinued the 701s and added a futuristic hypernaked to the line up that would be like the counterpart of the super Duke 1290
