    I am an unashamed fan of heavy flake sparkle finishes... not sure why. But the Carbon Copy is one of those pedals that sounds so good even non-sparkle types would put one on their board.

    Thanks, Pete. I actually didn't know about this mini version. Of course, the manliest way to demo a pedal is by putting it in a vice :-)

    That tune at 0:48 is awesome, Pete. I’ve watched so many of your reviews, and it’s been such a treat watching how completely you’ve absorbed EVH’s vibe. But today, the Alex Lifeson influence was fantastic! They’re my 2 favorite guitarists, and I’m sooo impressed the way you’ve borrowed from them. 🤘

    I've watched your videos for this and the Boss DM-2w, and you called out one thing that I also noticed -- the Boss has a super narrow range over which the mix kicks in very strongly. It's interesting and good to know the MXR behaves differently. Are there any other things, aside from modulation, that would make you prefer one over the other? Thanks!! Love the videos :)

    man thanks a ton for making a useful video on the testing of this delay pedal. i've watched several videos of players just using it like a reverb or slapback effect (horrible way to showcase a delay imo) while playing clean. thanks for rocking out with it to show us what it can do in rock applications. also, always enjoy your playing.

  • @ParaBellum2024
    @ParaBellum2024 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting to see you talk about using this unit between the guitar and the amp. I always find that, with a delay pedal between the guitar and the amp, the echoes become too loud when going from clean to overdrive, whereas postioning the pedal in the fx loop overcomes this problem.

    ...trying to decide between this and the Boss DM-2 (Waza).
    I'm an MXR fiend so I'm leaning towards the Carbon Copy mini - I also like the small Carbon footprint. 😄😒
    Imagine the fun Tommy Bolin could have with all the various delay pedals available in 2021. (For the initiated, when Tommy was with Zephyr he ran two Maestro Echoplex units in series. It was a quite stunning trick that only a true master could get away with.)
    Thank for not using a Floyd Rose. I hate those more those old DOD flangers from the mid 80's.

    Hi Pete , I'm thinking off getting a Suhr load box and IR unit all in one ( for recording) Just a thought though , could I get the helix HT and go straight into the interface and use the cab sims , amp choices and there effects to get what I'm looking for digitally from the Helix. I've seen your videos on the line 6 products and I'm really impressed in there sound quality and versatility . I'm thinking this could be a cheaper way off recording until I can afford the load box/ IR unit . As always love your playing and channel . Kind regards Bruce

    Unrelated, but many of your demo songs are as good as anything in the genre passing as real songs, the one in this video included. I like your instrumental albums, and as i understand you have been and will be using some of these demos as the foundation for songs BUT, you really ought to collaborate with a really good singer and put a non-instrumental album out to reach a wider audience than us guitar and gear nerds.

    Mini pedals are the wave. More internal less external.

    • @GrimYak
      @GrimYak 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Electronics are getting smaller. Nothing to do with a wave, it's really just the natural progression of electronics systems and integrated circuits. The guitar world is even behind in this space. Remember when phones used to be big? I guess it is because the guitar community put so much emphasis on vintage sound, some wont even use anything other than huge old school capacitors.
