    The Mihrab (4:30s and 40s) is acoustically engineered in a way that the sounds of the Imam will be echoed throughout the Mosque. There is also an analogy of a pearl relative to the shell shape found in the ceiling but I can't remember the exact details.

    Los españoles cuidamos y conservamos nuestro patrimonio cultural ibero, romano, judio, islámico y cristiano.La Alhambra de Granada fue protegida del saqueo y destrucción del ejército francés en época de Napoleón. Lástima que la Biblioteca de Córdoba fue incendiada, destruida por los almohades con 40000libros únicos y comparada en su época con la Biblioteca de Alejandria. Saludos

    What I want to know is what cultural and political influences this building had with the nation that it represented once it was built. Thank you, and have a nice day.

    • @VirTimePlace
      @VirTimePlace  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Paradigm. The nation wich built the great mosque od Cordoba was the Al-Andalus, emirate first and Caliphate after, but it doesn't exist anymore, so I guess there cannot be influence. It could be related to Spain as inheriter (yes, Spain is one of the most mixed cultures in the world and, generally, people are proud of its celtic, roman, gothic, muslim and even some vikings past), but doesn't seem to have a big influence neither. In fact, this building belongs today to the catholic church despite many protests from part of the Spanish society which would rather to see the historical monument open to all religions, as a symbol of the religious tolerance of the society who built it.
      Regarding us, we like architecture and history and, honestly, it has not been easy to carry out this project without the owner support. I just hope that at least our work helps more people to know the history of this impressive building. Have a nice day you too

    I notice the building is depicted with a white finish rather than contemporary sandstone. Was it originally in a white finish?

      I agree with you Rete. It's really a shame. But you know, It's always a matter of budget because we didn't find any sponsor, and that's also the raison because the Great Mosque destination at VirTimePlace has a price (and some others after 2021 January). We hope to reach people enough to get sponsors and improve the project and, of course, create new destinations and better videos with professional voices.

    Architecturally, this building does not look like a mosque! Looks like a medieval mall!

    • @VirTimePlace
      @VirTimePlace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest I'm not an expert. We just represented what a documentalist team asked for but 80% of the mosque stones are still the original ones and, believe me, I visit the mosque every month and except the white color (which is historically accepted) and, probably, some minor mistakes (nobody is perfect) this is mostly what it looked like.
