I recently subscribed to this channel after watching The Last Czars on Netflix. I had heard of the Romanovs but I wanted to know more. I watched about 9 parts of all the Russian Czars and it was fab. So glad I found this channel x my daughter treated me to the book the latest one xx
Sadly, that miniseries was way off about a lot of things. If you're on FB, I have a group of the same name as the channel, we discuss a lot of things and debunk a lot of myths about the Romanovs :)
It is wonderful to see this amazing footage, and just extraordinary that it is available. It would be nice if there could be a little commentary indicating what is going on and who is who. The Tsar stands out but who are the others, such as the officer behind him (who needs a little refresher on how to salute 😊)? I’d love to know the story behind the little tipple they had in the midst of the one ceremony.
You can see it's a ceremony since every movement and gesture is executed with reluctance. It must have been a suffocating atmosphere among this pack of strict rules.

I'm sure they had professional cameramen recording them

Only criticism I would make Helen is that the modern guitar music does not suit the historic images.
