No matter what country you’re in. Always avoid becoming the focal point of public outrage unless you want your life sorted through with a fine tooth comb. As a foreigner in Thailand, you are a guest of the kingdom. Stay under the radar and DO NOT POKE THE BEAR!
Who wants to live with a bear?
As my Thai 🇹🇭 name is หมี = Bear, I took this comment personally... 🤭🤭🤭💀

i heard it wasn't the first time he misbehaved, he certainly seems to ne causing problem for himself and everyone else where he goes
Yes more and more about his past is coming out. Its news in Switzerland as well where his past is coming back to haunt him
where abouts can one find this popcorn inducing info? link? Cheers @@kevhall4802
Living in Thailand i have been following this case. The Swiss man in question attacked a woman sitting on the steps to his villa which went down to a public beach. This is Thailand, not bloody Switzerland. The Thai people are extremely polite and courteous by enlarge, and had he had a problem with her sitting on the steps to his villa he could have asked her to leave politely, instead he kicked them both in the back. This is totally unacceptable behaviour from any foreigner here. We are guests here, remember that. He may have bought the Villa, but he is living in a Thai community where people are very laid back and not violent. He endangers not only himself but all other foreigners living here by casting a bad light. So the sooner the Thais kick him out the better, as far as I’m concerned. He is a total embarrassment to all Farang people living here.
Its rented for 1 million baht per month by all accounts, not bought
He is being detained so they can get more info out of him about his connections and business in Thailand, otherwise he would be deported and blacklisted. Maybe that still happens. If you live there then you would know that you can't work in Thailand without a valid work permit. This character already has a history of bad behaviour so it would make sense that he has skirted Thai law with regards to running/owning a business there.
Anyway, the sooner they send him packing the better.
@@kevhall4802 A million a month?! Sounds like a dubious financial arrangement. Who owns the place?
So if he is renting why isn't the landlord responsible for the removal of the steps? Also why would immigration review his visa if he hasn't been convicted of anything?
Yes, very strange.
Thai people consider the foot a very ‘dirty’ part of the body. One does not point feet towards someone, when entering a temple one should not step on the threshold. This habit is engrained especially in older generations. He treated a young and female doctor like an animal. The Swiss man disregarded many traditional and contemporary values, basically he put himself in the hornet's nest. He didn't miss a beat to be on top of social chats. But Thai people forget fast and he might ‘survive’.
You don't know what happend.
From what I'm understanding is that the Swiss man is renting. Why would he be responsible for removing the steps? Should this not be the property owner's responsibility? This is just one of many things that I've noticed in Thailand that is stacked against Farangs. I know, if I don't like it I can leave. I hear this regularly said to many Farangs. Hypothetical, what would Thailand do if every Farang took them up on this offer?
To the Thais they see the Farang as a walking wallet to aid the economy!
sooner if not later one would think they will figure out that Draconian Protectionism
does not fair well in a 'Global Economy'!
He is a criminal as will come out during this investigation
Albanian who has swiss citizenship
He has a long rap sheet and a long history
The wife is an ex prostitute and the pair are so full of themselves that karma has finally caught up with them
Thai natural justice will deal with them even if the official police don't
As to your hypothetical that "what if" every falang took up the offer, they wouldn't
Most are not arrogant or full of self entitlement and chose to live in Thailand for a better quality and quiet life and as a result are welcomed by their Thai neighbours
Thais are patient and long suffering, but for those that can't or won't fit in, they SHOULD go back to where they came from
We don't care ... you don't like Thailand 🇹🇭 leave. We're didn't force you to come or stay here. Thailand 🇹🇭 was here before you & will still be here with or without you farangs.
Your hypothetical "what if" cope/whining has no real value to us. We live in our reality, not in Western Woke toxic garbage.
TiT = This is Thailand 🇹🇭. You don't like it ... leave, if you can comprehend this, it will save you alot of unnecessary dukkha (suffering).
it's simple na. 🙏🥰🇹🇭
They just need you to be the first to lead them leaving Thailand. But I don't think you will.
We don't care 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
... leave.🙏
Honestly Ben, seeing a large amount of Thai citizens turn on a foreign national is not a surprise. I am a little surprised that it is a Swiss who is operating a elephant sanctuary. He must have some mental distress happening, because he is trying to help those majestic creatures. But he is being so nasty to other humans. 🤷🏽♂️ This would all have been avoided if he would have simply approached the ladies calmly and quietly saying hello to start a conversation. I hope he gets some mental health help before it is too late.
What he does should not overshadow how he behaved. It's uncalled for.
@@paripatang9403 That’s the whole point (his mistreatment of humans). Obviously if he is allowed to renew his visa, he should be required to see a mental health professional. I said that I was surprised that it was a Swiss national, because I recently watched a well produced video about the large number of Russian nationals who are causing a stir among locals. The locals are talking about a number of Russians working and doing business illegally. Humans are humans no matter what country. In the states and in European countries we have seen how immigrants can cause backlash towards certain races. With so many people on TH-cam promoting Thailand, you will no doubt have bad actors making their way into Thailand. The Thai locals that live and work on the island of Phuket are trying to make a living and live peacefully. The last thing that they want or need is foreigners that are abusive and/or take their work.
"Operating a sanctuary" and "trying to help elephants" are 2 completely different matters.
Just because he operates a sanctuary doesn't mean at all that his main goal is to try to help elephants.
A sanctuary is a business model lime so many others.
Excellent report-we are guests in this beautiful country , obey the law , keep a low profile and behave.

The article says he rented the villa. How is he responsible for the steps. Shouldn't the villa's owner be responsible?

Mr Hart,
This has done nothing but stir the hornets nest, in what has been an ongoing problem with (BAD APPLE) foreigners in Thailand!
This has to have heavy consequences, if civility is to be maintained in Thailand!
I have been traveling to Thailand since 1984 and not one time, have I ever had any problems!
Failure to assimilate to a countries customs, laws and way life will always be a problem for some foreigners!
We can all wait to see this play out in the court system, unfortunately the social media craze, has stirred the citizens of Thailand and foreigners will now be a target, good or bad, with cameras to cover every move they make!
There is only one way, to send a clear message! These bad actors need to have their Visas revoked and be blackballed from ever setting foot in the Kingdom if found guilty!
Totally clueless - he was RENTING the property.
Good discussion. Thanks Benjamin.
I understand using allegations but isn’t there a video of it?
He took it himself and its been released on social media - not sure who or how it got released

Hi Ben I’m going to retire in Thailand your channel is very informative. Thank you
And this is only a story because the victim is a connected doctor.
Dr. = Professional = high education = credibility...so yes, 100%. Same if a lawyer, engineer, CPA, Scientist etc.
Should assaults on nobodies be totally ignored?
The esteemed doctor is a Thai. Thais would never lie or make stuff up in order to get money out of a situation right? No, of course not.
if the nobody goes to the police it becomes thai vs falang represented by police. police are on their own side & assume they are all corrupt & hungry. falang is always wrong. falang loses no matter what. falang must give tea money to police for their "assistance" regardless of the outcome. falang have slightly lower legal status here than soi dogs. @@gryblk21
So apparently the police chief has requested the Swiss guys visa not be renewed! but he has not been charged with a crime! So I am unsure why his visa wouldn't be renewed! There are plenty of unpleasant foreigners living in Thailand, will there now be a nice test before foreigners are allowed to have a visa? Will Foreigners not be able complain or protest to Thais without fear for their Visa status!
Sounds like you should avoid Thailand with such a skewered and jaundiced view of Thailand and Thai people
Thailand is precisely a third world country but why you're still here despite the hostile environment you just described. Leave!
@@singularity-6339 We live in Australia & Thailand. Many things in Thailand are much better than in Australia, service, services and infrastructure for starters. Better described as a developing country and not third world, by comparison Australia is third world compared to Thailand
@@singularity-6339you obviously have never seen a real third world country. 😅 Thailand is fast moving along the development route and is doing quite well. Indeed areas of Phuket and Bangkok are now quite expensive compared to say the likes of Japan.
Thumbs up 👍 Hart
Bang Kwang all-inclusive would suit him
Thanks, great info! Sound knowledge.
I don't belive he kicked them in the back.
there was video send the dbag home
So to summarise, he " "fukkd around and found out"
Respect has to be both ways We know we are guests in this country but we also contribute to the economy many help the poor there are many expats and tourists here and to here about when just a few bad eggs play up is pathetic
😊 you definitely sound like a lawyer well in Rome do as the Roman's 😊
I appreciate the information you put out. Thank you,
This Swiss guy ‘allegedly’ worked as a security guard in Switzerland. He comes to Thailand who now can afford to pay a whopping 1 million baht per month in rent. Security guards must get paid extremely well in Switzerland 🤔.
The Thai police should go through this guy’s history with a fine tooth comb. For too long Thailand has been the go to destination for so many undesirables from the West.
You are informative without the extra graffiti and trash flying everywhere, that's the reason I come to this channel, the same reason you would be my first stop for any service that may be required in the future since I spend 6 months a year in Jomtien.
We bought 528 sq wah in 2002, when we got the chanote (title) it was 430 sq wah.
I didn't have it surveyed so my bad.
I was happy with the price at the time. The land we were buying was exactly the same size as the land we were shown.......just that it turned out to be less than they told us.
We bought the land at 1300 baht a wah, which is actually 1600/ wah after figuring the smaller parcel we got.
Today the land is worth 17,000/wah....nice
Why not mention name of accused when name of accuser is ?….
