    Living in Thailand i have been following this case. The Swiss man in question attacked a woman sitting on the steps to his villa which went down to a public beach. This is Thailand, not bloody Switzerland. The Thai people are extremely polite and courteous by enlarge, and had he had a problem with her sitting on the steps to his villa he could have asked her to leave politely, instead he kicked them both in the back. This is totally unacceptable behaviour from any foreigner here. We are guests here, remember that. He may have bought the Villa, but he is living in a Thai community where people are very laid back and not violent. He endangers not only himself but all other foreigners living here by casting a bad light. So the sooner the Thais kick him out the better, as far as I’m concerned. He is a total embarrassment to all Farang people living here.

    • @kevhall4802
      @kevhall4802 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Its rented for 1 million baht per month by all accounts, not bought
      He is being detained so they can get more info out of him about his connections and business in Thailand, otherwise he would be deported and blacklisted. Maybe that still happens. If you live there then you would know that you can't work in Thailand without a valid work permit. This character already has a history of bad behaviour so it would make sense that he has skirted Thai law with regards to running/owning a business there.
      Anyway, the sooner they send him packing the better.

    Thai people consider the foot a very ‘dirty’ part of the body. One does not point feet towards someone, when entering a temple one should not step on the threshold. This habit is engrained especially in older generations. He treated a young and female doctor like an animal. The Swiss man disregarded many traditional and contemporary values, basically he put himself in the hornet's nest. He didn't miss a beat to be on top of social chats. But Thai people forget fast and he might ‘survive’.

    From what I'm understanding is that the Swiss man is renting. Why would he be responsible for removing the steps? Should this not be the property owner's responsibility? This is just one of many things that I've noticed in Thailand that is stacked against Farangs. I know, if I don't like it I can leave. I hear this regularly said to many Farangs. Hypothetical, what would Thailand do if every Farang took them up on this offer?

    • @irongoatrocky2343
      @irongoatrocky2343 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To the Thais they see the Farang as a walking wallet to aid the economy!
      sooner if not later one would think they will figure out that Draconian Protectionism
      does not fair well in a 'Global Economy'!

      He is a criminal as will come out during this investigation
      Albanian who has swiss citizenship
      He has a long rap sheet and a long history
      The wife is an ex prostitute and the pair are so full of themselves that karma has finally caught up with them
      Thai natural justice will deal with them even if the official police don't
      As to your hypothetical that "what if" every falang took up the offer, they wouldn't
      Most are not arrogant or full of self entitlement and chose to live in Thailand for a better quality and quiet life and as a result are welcomed by their Thai neighbours
      Thais are patient and long suffering, but for those that can't or won't fit in, they SHOULD go back to where they came from

    Honestly Ben, seeing a large amount of Thai citizens turn on a foreign national is not a surprise. I am a little surprised that it is a Swiss who is operating a elephant sanctuary. He must have some mental distress happening, because he is trying to help those majestic creatures. But he is being so nasty to other humans. 🤷🏽‍♂️ This would all have been avoided if he would have simply approached the ladies calmly and quietly saying hello to start a conversation. I hope he gets some mental health help before it is too late.

    • @mixingjd
      @mixingjd 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@paripatang9403 That’s the whole point (his mistreatment of humans). Obviously if he is allowed to renew his visa, he should be required to see a mental health professional. I said that I was surprised that it was a Swiss national, because I recently watched a well produced video about the large number of Russian nationals who are causing a stir among locals. The locals are talking about a number of Russians working and doing business illegally. Humans are humans no matter what country. In the states and in European countries we have seen how immigrants can cause backlash towards certain races. With so many people on TH-cam promoting Thailand, you will no doubt have bad actors making their way into Thailand. The Thai locals that live and work on the island of Phuket are trying to make a living and live peacefully. The last thing that they want or need is foreigners that are abusive and/or take their work.

    • @FarangNick
      @FarangNick 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Operating a sanctuary" and "trying to help elephants" are 2 completely different matters.
      Just because he operates a sanctuary doesn't mean at all that his main goal is to try to help elephants.
      A sanctuary is a business model lime so many others.

    Mr Hart,
    This has done nothing but stir the hornets nest, in what has been an ongoing problem with (BAD APPLE) foreigners in Thailand!
    This has to have heavy consequences, if civility is to be maintained in Thailand!
    I have been traveling to Thailand since 1984 and not one time, have I ever had any problems!
    Failure to assimilate to a countries customs, laws and way life will always be a problem for some foreigners!
    We can all wait to see this play out in the court system, unfortunately the social media craze, has stirred the citizens of Thailand and foreigners will now be a target, good or bad, with cameras to cover every move they make!
    There is only one way, to send a clear message! These bad actors need to have their Visas revoked and be blackballed from ever setting foot in the Kingdom if found guilty!
