I placed order for a 2023 F350 Lariat. After 7 months Ford said I need to reorder as a 24. Went to GMC AT4 3500 6.6 gas. Couldn’t be happier
I have the exact same truck. Just so you know you can change the guage cluster and add oil pressure coolant temp and so on… so it’s all ready available.
How does she ride when not under heavy load?
@@Uwekerner04 you feel the bumps for sure. Definitely stiffer than my 2020 1500
I would dispute that this is the best HD truck, u are all about GMC !
I feel he changes based on what he feels performs best. I remember in 2021 it was all about Ram 2500 on this channel
In 2021 he wouldn’t be wrong. In 2024 GM is killing it on the new interiors and the refresh. They were behind there, and now lead. The bigger cab from prior gen is nice too. Will only be a few years before Ford leads again. It’s cyclical. So, one can never say “X” brand is best IMHO.
Great video!! It was very informative!!
I’ve always been a Ford guy, but I’ll look at GMC for my next truck. (Ford’s quality has been slipping, IMHO.)
Thanks for posting!!
I'm in the same boat, if I'm getting a new truck, GMC will be the way to go, great looks, a nice new interior. My 2018 F150 3.5L Max Tow has been nothing but problems.
This is why i have a CTS3 edge monitor for Guages
Went from a 21 F350 to a 24 Sierra AT4 and I don’t miss that Ford one bit. Both great trucks, just the GMC is a solid level up.
Well, to be fair, a '24 Ford is a solid upgrade from a '21.
I switched from a F450 Lariat to a 2024 High Country 3500 drw last July. I love my new truck
How do you compare the seats?
thanks for review. I am not a fan of paying for or being overly reliant on every tech or comfort option out there today, but I do love 360 cams. GM seems to have a great camera application.
No power pedals (or steering wheel), door handle not as comfortable to use, stick shift blocks a bit of screen in drive, seats are very uncomfortable, not enough usable storage space in the open/front part of the console, underseat storage is terrible, back seat floor not completely flat, UI is decent but not great (better for the cameras, worse almost everywhere else), sun roof too small, can't get a bigger gas tank with the long bed, payload is meh for a 3500, multi function tailgate takes away the power tailgate and unlike Chevy you don't have a choice.
It does look really good.
Thanks for the video. Test drove one a few weeks ago. A huge con for me is the shifter blocking half the infotainment screen when in drive. What were they thinking?
I agree.
I enjoy my 2024 AT4 3500HD Personalized it a bit with pro comp kit with 6” lift 2.0 fox shocks and 20” hostile rims on 37” Toyo tires and added a Tonneau cover Debadged all around except the front and blacked out the reflectors Took it on my first road trip yesterday and the adaptive cruise control and exhaust brake work well together
GMC! All the way, every day.
Agreed with the lack of info! I added a Banks iDash to get that info. I shouldn't have to add that though, it should just be in the cluster like what Ram and Ford do.
Do Ram and Ford show regen status? Can u force a regen? Honest question, I don’t know answer. I know they show hearing and maybe boost…. But the other?
@@jonathonsantamont8527 I know for sure that Ford shows the DPF level on the current model year, as far as Ram, i'm about 80% sure they have the DPF level as well. I know some fleet model Fords you can force a regen.
Thank you for another great video. I am considering this this vehicle and have a choice between Summit White and thunderstorm Gray. The only discrepancy is the payload that you show in the payload that my sales person tells me truck will be at somewhere between 4300 and 4500. obviously your video of the stickers don’t lie and I’ve seen several other videos that have similar payloads between 3600 and 3800 pounds.
All the payload number confusion aside thanks again for another great video as I think you solidly made up my mind to go GMC instead of Ford F350
I think the 4500 lb payload is for the duallys. You can get a 3500 dually but not in the AT4 trim. Lower trims or a Denali.
My 2024 3500 has a full size spare… a steel wheel but it is a full size tire.
probably the last in the race. ram and ford blow this away
How many miles does it take until one of these trucks is considered broken in?
Dealer told me off the record, give it about 500 miles
@@ryanlujan7074how long until first oil change? I was told no more break in oils and follow DIC. That means 7,500 miles…. Does that make sense????
The most engine wear will be when the engine is new. If you want that motor to last as long as it can I would change the oil between 500 and 1000 miles. You definitely want to remove all the metal particles that are in that oil as the motor gets broken in sooner than later. The oil filter will not get it all. Don’t listen to the dealer or factory recommended intervals if you want your truck to run a million miles. Put new oil in it if you want to keep it a long time. After first oil change do every one at 3000 miles
It really is the best right now
Sweet ride for sure! But GMC, come on, get rid of the black plastic fender flares and orange lights!
They have a factory option to get paint matched fenders. I'm not sure why you don't see them much.
I like the LTZ 20’s on the HD better, blackened!
It’s still one of the better trucks!
I like the truck
I see a lot of at4 trucks in the oil patch.
Not still. Definite improvement though 👍
HD OEM optional 22s best wheels
I'm looking at an AT4 3500 disel long bed. I'm concerned that with "off-road" tires it will be
Panoramic sunroof, PLEASE!
Standard size sunroof on such a big truck just does not look right.
I'm looking at a 2024 AT4 3500 diesel long bed, I'm concerned that the "off-Road" tires will be "loud" on the road / highway. I'm be trading my 2019 Denali I spend just about all my time on the road not off roading.
I'd appreciate any comment or opinions. Thanks
Keep your 19. Seats in the newer one are horrible. I sold my 2020 2500 Denali due to that reason.
That new red just doesn’t do it for me like the 2023 and older version. I’ve looked at it in sunlight and the shade and just can’t get with it. So I ordered the gray instead.
"They give you" makes me laugh every time. No one is giving anything.
That color is suspect.... Where is Matt Anderson.....😁
I’ll take my 3500 SWR Silverado LT for $73k over this for $88k. I have the same engine, transmisión, multifuncional-folding tailgate, power rear window, power folding mirrors, etc. I like the Silverado center console better because it has more space. The GMC has a trailer brake on the center console…can’t drop your Whatabuger bag on that.
I agree lol
My 2024 lt 3500 long bed 4wd was little over 62k. I went with the gas this time around
@@bigmurph1447 yes if you don’t mind going gasser u can find sone nice ones in low 60s
Shop around prices are coming down. I just got similar truck in video msrp was $87,400 got it for 79k no trade in and $195 doc fee.
@@andythompson5528 that’s what we like to hear 👍🏻
Tremor has higher payload with the gasser for sure and the 7.3 or 6.7 HO. Both beasts. I shopped them all. Tremor 350 7.3 for my $.
Good Ole Government Motors.....nice Izusu designed engine....lmao
Nice Video! What is the difference between AT4 and AT4X?
X has the upgraded fancy MultiMatic shocks, slight lift, bumpers, more aesthetics etc.
Also the X has the front and rear lockers. Unless that is not on the HD. I know on the 1500 AT4X has the lockers. Where the AT4 has the G80 Auto Locker in the rear only.
GMC's cheap looking orange reflector/lights on the fenders are reason enough for me to choose Chevrolet instead. They look like a stick on hardware store reflector. And maybe I'm just showing my age but I hate black wheels.
I agree this is a nice truck and I love the color. But to say "the best truck on the market"... let's review.
Wheels, this is a presonal choice and to say they are the best in the HD segment... they look plain to me but whatever turns you on.
Bed.. last time I checked Ford's short bed is 82" so... 6'10". Same.
Fuel tank. 36 gal is the only size they offer. You get 48 gal in the Ford with the 8' bed.
Wheel liner. Ford has front standard, back optional easy clean hard plastic.
Diesel engine... nothing "complicated"... You choose a diesel or the diesel version with MORE POWER. So much for GM's "best shot".
Ford is the fastest HD. Low 6s.
You don't see what gear you're in in the gauge cluster. Camera views... they all have them.
Love the GM trailering info in the door jam.
GM seems to bring tech or goodies two model years after the other guys...
"Best on the market"... naaah is just your opinion bro.
But hey, keep up the reviews. Very entertaining. Just saw your one of your latest "shorts" reel why Ford Super Duty is undefeated...? 👍
Good points, but only if they didn't soften the front of the new ford's.
“He says everything comes standard” no shit Albert Einstein it’s a 90k truck. 🤣
Ford F-250 XLT Sport Appearance Packages Wheels are better in my opinion.
I hate the brown. No other color option, would not buy the truck just because of the brown. Will not spend 90 thousand on a truck, when every time I open the door I think how ugly.
Too many doors. Not every buyer wants 4 doors! If GM wants to make a cheap, popular vehicle, bring back the Sprint / El Camino! It can be an efficient, great looking car / truck. Everyone who isn't encumbered by a load of screaming brats will want one! Just save your production dollars and forget the mid-gate, leave out the back seat, and scrap the back doors. We don't want them. We won't pay for them. We do want options when it comes to drive train, though. A lot of folks would love to see a V8. I won't begrudge them that, but I'm holding out for an AWD BEV with a frunk and a solar charging, retracting bed cover. If GM won't build it, VW will.
Not worth 88k no truck is
Thats a 1%er truck for doctors, dentists and lawyers, to take their kids to soccer practice. No one actually uses this truck offroad.
Not even close to being best hd truck on the market. Stay away from gm. Generic motors.
If you like cardboard seats and don’t mind a gay man’s chariot then sure
I don’t recall GM having a gay rainbow raptor commercial. May want to change sides buddy.
@@Mgm77mathis they did that before ford 🤣
Prove it!
