I was blown away by the golf R's performance. I went skiing in Italy with friends and one of my buddy had an R. So first of all going up in the mountain was too easy with its incredible traction even on ice and snow. Then we had to drive 700 km to go back to Paris, woke up at 5 AM, smashed it from 6 AM to 12PM, had to refuel twice and eat something and still made 700km in around 5h worth of driving. We set the cruise control to 210 km/h, coyote and waze up and running. The little hatch drank about 12L/100km, which is really reasonable considering it made around 360hp crank. With lane assist, automatic emergency braking and all the assists, it was very smooth and relaxing. Over 210, my buddy told me the assist were disconnecting so we stopped there. Considering my two cars are spicy classic mini with 90hp crank and a stock E30 316 with only a weber 40DCOE instead of the 2BE, you can imagine my shock when driving something like this.

Check out the Doug DeMuro video on the Dodge Demon.
Fastest 0-100/400m car ever made.
Faster quarter mile than a Bugatti Chiron at 1/30th the price.
@@PrivacyTermsCopyriii yeah but If you watch the grand tour in order for that car to do all that there are some steps that need to be taken. Bot taking anything away from the demon but I meant more like affordable tuner type cars.
@@amb1valentchaos625 that's true.
There's three things that you need to do for it. First, you have to drive it 500 miles, prior to that, output is restricted. Second, you take it back into your dealership, they add some buttons and change some parts to run on 100 octane fuel. Third, you need to actually run it on 100 octane race fuel to achieve the last 35-40bhp.
It's really not all that much, considering what it's capable of. It's absolutely nuts for a production vehicle, especially one that costs less than $500,000
what amazes me the most is their friendship. So tight and genuine, no serious rivalry except the usual banter, You guys keep it up
Im really enjoying the friendly vibe between you guys, great show!
Evo needs some raceworks intercooler pipe clamps, can't keep blowing off silicone lol
*sees supergramps at a race track*
please don't break...
I was totally waiting for snapped axel
Considering that this Golf R got modified without major works (the engine hasn't been touched) and made a stunning 2.9 on 0 to 60 is really Impressive !!! Please let us know if you guys are planning to do some engine mods such as forged pistons and supercharger as well, that would be certainly like a 600HP VW GOLF-R !!!!! Love your work, keep up !
IT has one turbo
Hahaha the part where Marty is just stoke that his car didnt blow up is priceless.
I'm the same any time I take the Jeep out instead of the foz. If I can make it home without something breaking or leaking on the Jeep, I call it a win 😂
Tenebrous Ophidian it’s a good day when you can drive home!
Tow trucks can get expensive.
The Grim Reaper at least you haven’t gone through 5 differentials 4 axles 2 driveshafts 2turbos and a clutch fuse itself to the flywheel lol
My buddy in his golf R clicked this video slightly faster than I did
How fast did he click? 11.2?
"Modified it over a weekend" ... only simple mods...
Yup, but how and why was it over after that weekend 😅
GO LITTLE GOLF!
GO LITTLE GOL
GO LITTLE G
GO LITTLE ...... (And the lambo passes)
Carlos Henrique Noronha de Aguiar this moment made me think of all the Honda guys at the local car meets here “yeah my civic could beat a lambo”
The fact that a $600k car is being compared to a $30k car says a lot
Tj Trev nooooo, just says they had a friend with a lambo I don’t think they where specifically picking the cars
This is worse than end game spoilers
Much prefer the golf. So close to lambo speeds. I can have it as a daily driver and don't give a fuck if it gets a scratch, there is zero practicality of a lambo
You should invest in an OBDeleven. I loved making the tweaks to my Mk7 Golf when I had it
Love that you only got chopped by other Volkswagens ✌🏻
@@EthosBiggestFan Since they own them?
^ Yup, these boys get it!
Wait till his head explodes when he See's exactly how large the Vag group is
When the Lambo was passing Moog was like:
- Nooooo MOOOONICAAAA
lol
Spoilers, man.
More like Sheryl
Best thing ever:
"All that matters is we both made it to the end of the tracks and we aren't being towed back."
That is the way it should be. Winning is epic, pushing your cars is super fun, but making it to the end and having everything hold up, having the fun of racing your friend is always the most important. at least in my book.
Marty, you need to install a TC-Sports Shift Transmission to compete against the VW
Me : about to go to sleep
MCM : Golf vs Lambo
Me : ah shit here we go again
XD to be honest this was my thoughts too xD
I have to be up in 6 hours and it's moog's fault
@@butre. bruh, the struggle makes the vacation even sweeter, hang in there. I'm finally on my first week off in two years: first 3 days were 2 years of catching up on sleep lost from MCM.
@@aaronhill3943 I don't have a minute off for another month. I'm on day 24 of working anywhere between 10 and 16 hours a day 7 days a week. last paycheck I logged 171 hours. thank god for time and a half
That thing gets off the line like a scolded cat.
no 240 though :(
S13 love
REVO are getting Golf Rs up to 500 bhp with very few mods right now.
I would love to see the R take on the old yellow Beetle sleeper they did a few years back .
All I can do is applaud that effort. 11.2's and 11.3's basically all night. 👍
That Performante sounded sick going past you Moog, could only sound better from your seat. 😎
Winga dingdingdingdin... on the launch.
He sit's in a golf Not in a seat
@@AlphaRoom1 His SEAT, not a Sèat. 😉
Uhh you mean that Thing to sit on.. my Bad bro.
Good video boys......no filler, no BS, just action. Keep it up!!
This is why I like these guys just action, and content no filler.
No BS? I doubt alot that a 380hp Golf can beat a Huracan Performante at the launch!
I think we all know the first 2 seconds all depend on who is sitting in each car, and how used to launching their vehicle each person is. So it's very possible.
I watched this video as my buddy has done something similar with His Golf R. It’s definitely quick and I do enjoy sitting in it as he punches it from time to time.
That Evo needs a sequential dog box to go with those 400kW.
Anders Juel Jensen not really, you can do it on a stock 5 speed
Aren’t they like 20k!?😅
Nice video guys :)
that first run of 11.3 looked like the car wasnt even under any pressure looked to easy wow
Amazing work on that MK7 Golf R! It's beautiful and stealth as it should be.
Amazing how the Golf handled these races back to back to back to back, even with some heat soak it still was pulling 11.4's thats amazing.
How about a roll race with toosxy? thats the real sleeper. 230kw. 950kg!!
230kw, 950kg, and zero traction. 😛
@@HollyBoni I got 243kw atw in my ce coupe, Hankook semi slicks, tramp rods and i get enough traction (only roll racing) to scare a McLaren MP4 12C. LOL
I love my mk7.5 R 6spd. Crazy how fast you can make them! It’s my fun daily too!
Golfs suck
As a modified Fahrenheit GTI owner I am thoroughly impressed by you MK7 GTI. You have all the mods I would love to get someday. But I believe there is some serious sandbagging by your competition although I'm sure most of those cars could be beat in the right conditions.
He has an r, not a gti! The gti can't get this fast on a drag strip, because it has fwd! The r has awd!
Yes, I'm aware of the AWD difference, but the Mod's he performed are the same for the GTI. Big Turbo, Motor and Trans ECU tune, Intercooler, Downpipe, Big Brake Kit, ect….
I think we need to know how much those Revo mods would cost including fitting.
In Europe you can get the parts for 6-7k Euros (including turbo) and add 3-4 more for fitting
jimjambandit have to be $15-20k worth of parts including a couple days labour in a mint workshop like that....
About 20k installed...check out the parts on Revo website.
£9k here in the UK at least
The interaction between moog and the other drivers was my favorite part.
"get on the googles to see what you gotta do and ill see you at the other end" did that gtr even move :') wtf ahahaha
Your cars are awesome. You guys are awesome and your content is awesome. You are nice, respectful to others and humble. I wish you all the best and looking forward to many more years of beautiful MCM content.
It's impressive that the Golf could do so many runs without a hitch.
I love the Fast and Furious reference to the lambo guy 🤣 straight over his head!
Might have been camera shy too ;)
Same here😂😂
So happy you mentioned volvo as sleepers! I have a v70 t5, only 300hp but it smashes rude boys in their A3's off the lights!
That golf isn’t messing around! I plan to upgrade and tune my gti mk7 in a few months but it won’t be anywhere near as fast as this thing! Well done :)
I don't usually comment on anything but you guys rock! I never miss a single one of your videos keep it going.
You guys are about to break the internet in the next couple of days... congrats
Jesus Moog acting like he’s found a rare Pokémon 😂😂😂
So many people in the car community have huge sticks up their arse. Like c'mon man. It's a just a bunch of pals pulling up to the drag strip and having a fun time.
Wait, so you own a GTR and you dont know how to use launch control? 🤦♂️
I totally would not put that past myself, actually, if *I* had an R35. :) I don't even know if my *cruise control* even works on my own car, except the cable's not in the way. That's me and automation for you. :)
Hami Ngatai moog said that some cars were rented so the gtr could’ve been rented either that or the guy just never had to use it before
Paulius Kartavcevas and out of everyone there they couldn’t figure it out? Sounds like the didnt want the GTR to use launch control just to give a win to the golf
@@revpitty001 That or, and correct me if im wrong, they may have changed the rules in aust. But launch control Voids the car warranty on aussie GTRS, or its expensive..something like that. Also moog did say he was driving that car for the first time.
@@KuroRyuu86 i personally find it dumb that there is launch control from the factory but using it voids your waranty
Would have loved to have seen the R35 go with launch control, Golf still could have beat him but it would have been mega close
