- Modified battle! It's time to settle this once and for all as these two AWD, turbo-charged 4 cylinder cars go head to head in a final battle. Fighting it out is a modified Mitsubishi EVO9 and a 'Stage 3+' Golf R, both making 280KW at the wheels.
Who will win? Which car is faster? And who will have their dreams crushed...

This was the funniest and most relevant ending to a MCM I've seen in a long time team cannot froth harder for future vids. Every time I see a vid I think when is the magic going to change but holy jesus it just keeps shape shifting into better and more relevant vids each time.

My integra type R sits at 3500rpm in 5th at 100kph, so uhh... Yeah. Me.
All just to listen that beautiful vtec kicking in!
I change gear at 4500 rpm, but then again, iam driving a Octavia RS Diesel so it's just before rev limit.
I drive an N46 E90 320i and I rarely change gears below the 3,5-4k RPM

A highway pull is not the same comparison. Marty is referring to always keeping the car in the 4k+ rev range. After a pull you put it back into overdrive and cruise again.
On a racetrack you're in 2nd/3rd a lot and usually not shifting past 4th unless you're on a really long straight away.
Me: driving to work at 5k Rpm doing 60-70mph around 20mph corners.......wait WOT!!!!!

That EVO is a work of art. I can't imagine what other cars it can win against as well. I'm assuming it can probably stand against cars with a very big price/age difference and win.

let's see how's the golf and its dsg gearbox in 10 years time if it's used hard. You want reliable 280kw at the wheels? you buy an ls7. If you wanna play, you gotta pay. Otherwise buy an Honda Fit for going to the shops, and it'll last you a million miles

@@reversegiraffe3976 all gti tracks records were done with a manual including nurburgring. Being an auto doesn't make it faster at the track.

I know there have been some haters commenting on your track performances, but watching you two analyze each other's car behavior definitely shows me that you two can drive way better than most of the commenters here! Also when Moog was talking about he did not know what Marty was doing behind him that really reminded me of Initial D and how Rye always says you start from behind to see what the other driver can do haha.
EVO. For the reason it's more enjoyable to drive vs the Golf. A more visceral driving experience.
Also, the EVO comes from the time when Japanese cars were made so well.

@@utubeisCensorred They already just said that the evo is faster lol..? The only way to truly test the two is lap times. Obviously they don't want to crash into each other and neither car could pass with the other in front. The Golf R "lost" the race.
What makes you say it made less crank HP? I'd imagine it'd be pretty similar based on the fact that they're making similar WHP and both 4wd.

evo 9 technology being compared to 2019 tceh? Ones analogue ones digital. considering the tech gap the evo still gives the newer car a fright even with the handicap of a stickshift and a guy who cant do a slingshot launch.
I thought it was faster, personally. The Golf R guy got butthurt and tried to make it sound like he won. Even on the first run, the EVO was right on his tail the entire time. The EVO definitely(surprisingly) won the standup because it was able to create such a big gap in front of the Golf R.

@@trayner Yet I'll still be sticking to Dunlop RT Sport Maxx 2's and if I want anything better I'd go to Continental tyres. Bridgestone was more slippery in the wet from my experience.
