Wormadam's Niche On Mono-Bug

Wormadam is a bad pokemon. However, due to its (almost) unique typing, Sandy-Cloak Wormadam can serve as mono-bugs best counter to Regieleki. It also has many options to pressure potential switch-ins. Though, besides that it doesn't really do much (Gen 1 Porygon vibes).
It can also 2HKO Torkoal on fire teams, but I didn't feel like mentioning it.

I'm still baffled that we don't have more Bug/Ground pokemon.
We had Nincada way back in Gen3, but then they decided to make it evolve in a generic (but at least fast) Bug/Flying.
Here's hoping in a regional Bug/Ground Ninjask.

This was a legitimate surprise for me. I do hope we get at least a half-decent one someday though, as both typing's are among my favorites.
Considering how gligar and aipom will be version exclusives, I’m hoping the paradox gliscor we have a chance of getting will be bug / ground OR poison/ flying either typing is fine though
I'm thinking some kind of regional Wimpod. Maybe like... A brave little guy called Winpod with No Guard. He could evolve into Herosopod.

I wish Bug/Ground was more common, having a Ground who is not afraid of Grass and also threatens them back with STAB Bug moves is very cool.

yk today i said i was using a mono bug team, my friend fell for it and lost bc he made a mono rock team and i just swept with basculegion

Bug ground isn't that bad of type, sure 3 of 4 are common type weeknesses but compared to bug grass which is abysmally worse, bug/ground is workablle.
I mean, bug-grass is one of the worst types in the game, so being better then it isn't saying much. Bug ground is certainly workable (and its a realllly good type for mono bug teams) but isn't great. Very similar to bug-rock in this regard.
My fakemon region has a Bug/Ground type with thick fat, leaving it only weak to water and flying, and it keeps its ground, fighting, and electric resistances/immunities, a lot can be gained with a combo of solid typing and abilities

Monotype is a format where every team is monotype. Mono bug is overall really fun, if a little weak, though not unusable.
There is some really good bug types you can work with plus access to great setter shuckle.
