damnit, i was going to ask you about the lockout clutch thing, mine came with one on it as well, took it off and feel absolutely no difference, from what i was told its basically just for super high hp builds that will usually slip a clutch, great video by the way, i have a 05 that i built the motor to an 06 for the true 449cc, and mine is fully built, cams ported, high comp je pro piston, hot rod crank, and its the same way, still reliable as it can be

i mean yes and no....
they work fine but they can break and will if not maintained good and then u have a big bill...
we got a 2004 model for 1000€ non running looking clean...
god damn what a piece of shit, we did get it running but fucked it up bad... the head is FUKED the cam shaft eat into it and the top hats also are done... (we did all check all timing multiple times)
so we toke it apart all over again and looked good at it, and found the problem.. the engine was rebuild, it has a hotrod crank, and the piston is stock yamaha, and the cylindeer is all fresh no marks it even has the hoon marks till... so we guess some body rebuild it after it seized and skiped a part like replacing the head... thinking it was good..
ow also the first time we toke it apart the top hats that are on the cams 2 bold were pretty lose... and timing was bad. so yeah we fixed thazt thinking all was fine but nope... u learn...
and now we probably gonna part it out... cause a head is 500€ with the hats 2nd hand... and me and my friend bought it to fix and resell but we aint feeling like spending 500€ on it we guessing we can get 2000€ out of it in part... it will just take longer...
but yeah yfz450 dont know see alot of them old one for cheap with problems for less then 3k for sale, and on video i oftne see then running and 6 monthts later a rebuild...
unless u buy a new from factory one... u gonna have problems i think with them quads 2nd hand... its a gamble...

It all depends on the owner and maintenance, ive had mine for 6-7 years now, only blown up a top end once. Accidentally used it until it gave out, dont know how many hours it had with the previous owner but ever since the new rebuild and i know whats inside of it, ive never had problems
