    Works great with the grx 812, shifts on an 11-46t so much smoothly than the stock cage and pulleys.

      Yes, I upgraded to a XT 11/46T cassette on my gravel bike, grx 812. The only downside i'm experiencing is that I thought about going 1x but decided to keep the 2x grx 810-2 48/31T for the range. I found the 46T will shift with the inner 31T chainring but not with the larger 84T chainring , which I don't need because for me it's not about speed, but about climbing in the fire roads my area.

    Do you have a model of cage for diverter GRX 810, which allows you to use the cassette 11-42 XT with 2x11 ratio?

    Does it work on 9-46T (with GRX RD-RX812) ? because i have a e-13 cassette and the derailleur cage rubs against the teeth of the 46T.

    very useful video! however I find Step3 rather misleading: 1) the derailleur is shown upside down and the instructions Mention "Clockwise", by listening to the video I installed the cage by expanding the spring too much which cracked the metal casing of the spring (part of the clutch mechanism). When actually when we listen carefully and looking at the derailleur the right way (not upside down) we finally understand that we MUST NOT GO CLOCKWISE!!!! I was able to bond the cracked metal with Steel Epoxy, but I find it rather frustrating to have my new derailleur already cracked/repaired... Garbaruk please correct instructions. Thank you!

      @lowb35 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t know if they changed it but the instructions say to make sure to prevent the cage from going clockwise. I read your comment before the install and made sure the derailleur was upside down when doing this step. 👍

    This video seems to suggest you can use the bolts you took off the Shimano pulleys to attach the Garbaruk ones, but the website says you need to purchase them separately as they're not included with pulleys. What am I missing? Do you need to buy them or can you use what you've got already when replacing?

      I asked Garbaruk this exact question just the other day via email. Their answer was this will not work, reason unspecified but very clear answer. I guess it has to do with the 810 and 812 working at different angles (a 11-50 cassette is more "steep" than a 11-34), thus the 810 only works for lower range cassettes and 812 for wide range. Their actuating angle differs, or the jockey wheel would hit the cassette - or get too far from it to accurately guide the chain.
      Just guessing here though, but that would make sense. I got my 2x system work with a 11-40 cassette using a roadlink, but you need to tweak the angle of the link or it will malfunction. Too much info to try to cram it into a TH-cam comment, sorry.

      Keep the long cage why would you wanna run a shorter cage? Just curious.

    • @markvernon1218
      @markvernon1218 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my experience Jaspreet you only fit a long cage derailleur when absolutely necessary, as it is when you have a front derailleur multi ring set up. In my case I'm using 1x10 so not needed. Generally long cages have too much flex, hang down too much and are vulnerable, and the shifting is inaccurate and slow 🐌. That's just my experience though , but it is experience and not a mate of a mate of a mates...... if you get my drift 🤘.

    • @jaspreetsidhu5708

      @@markvernon1218 mhmm thank you for that I've only ever run long cages on mechanical. Shifting a been fine but I guess that's all I've ever known on some of the smaller cages is di2 so I just assumed the difference was from di2. But thank you for that.

    Tried installing on a 2x Di2 Grx rear derailleur & it DOES NOT WORK just like they state on the site. The smaller jockey pulley sits in a different spot between the 1x & 2x systems. The 2x systems smaller jockey pulley wheel lines up with the cage mounting bolt, where the 1x version sits in a different spot causing the small jockey to hit the body of the derailleur when shifting into the smaller half of the cassette. Luckily my shop has both derailleurs so not a big deal but this cage ONLY WORKS ON 1X REAR DERS.

  • @lowb35
    @lowb35 ปีที่แล้ว

    Installed great on GRX812 in a 1x setup using a Sunrace 11-50 cassette. Took a bit to adjust and I had to screw the B screw in all the way for it to shift properly but now that it’s all adjusted it shifts smoothly into all gears including the big ring. I am fortunate in that the closest bike shop to me specializes in recumbents so they stock extra long 11 speed chains (Box, 126 link). Cut it down to 120 and it’s the perfect tension. SRAM would have worked too without removing or adding links. An option for those who need a longer than standard 118 link chain to install. Bring on the hills!

      @@arraizdc I have but ended up not using it. I don't see how it wouldn't as the major difference between them is just the cage length and maybe spring tension. The shifting was getting sloppy with such a long cage I ended up going back to the default cage and 42 tooth.
