    THE GOAT IS BACK
This show has always been sentimental to me looking back on it I feel a bit emotional through the lessons and themes it carries, I love Vinland saga and can't wait to watch the rest of this season with everyone.

Lets goo! Arnheid’s introduction was good with the ost (the blonde girl)! That character is incredible! This eps was more to introduce the viewer to some characters like Ketil, olmar and the farmhands, every side character has a purpose and important to the story! And we get to see Snake next eps! It’s gonna get goood, trust me!

Arnheid okay gotcha, I’m glad we’re gonna see each character have a purpose for the story and it’s not just some filler content. Seems like everything has always mattered in each episode for Vinland and I love that! Can’t wait for snake lol

"I have no idea how a slave feels. If I were you I'd kill Gorm and run away. I'd kill everyone who came after me too"
    - Thorfinn, Season 1 Episode 8
Complete 180 degree turn in Thorfinn's personality, and Einar probably wouldn't talk to him like this if he knew what he did in the past. If he would've grabbed the old Thorfinn by the collar of his shirt like that he would have ended up 100% dead or knocked unconscious.
Nothing much has happened yet, it's kind of just setting up everything, the setting and the characters for what is to come. I can't wait for you to see the next episodes!

Yo what’s up man, what a good connection back to season 1, thorfinn in season 1 would’ve easily reacted differently to einar grabbing him and being forceful, we can start to see thorfinn is becoming a more passive human being.

    Translation Notes
    KARL ,Karl
The Viking social class of free men, greater than thralls (slaves) but lower than noble jarls: in short, the common man. The Old English form of the word was "churl," which eventually evolved into its modern pejorative meaning: one who is so common as to be low class or boorish.

Hey! You’ve been super informative I noticed you commented on my other video too about the notes and it’s wicked cool they include this portion of history with fluent accuracy to old English and it does have plenty of significance to the story and what thorfinn is going through “karlsefni”

the reason why Thorfinn would agree that warriors are monsters now is not so much that he sees himself as separated from vikings. He put a distance between himself and Askeladd's men for years, pretending to be more morally righteous because of the motivation behind his actions. However, he still did what vikings did. He behaved just like one. So what makes him so different from one? Nothing. Einar saying they're monsters is also him calling Thorfinn a monster with human flesh, unbeknownst to him. It's very ironic.

Well said, thorfinn is indeed the monster he’s describing even if thinks he distanced himself from that life and thorfinn hears those words and I bet it hits him like an arrow to the heart man such good writing in the second episode.
