I don't know what my grandpa would think of the world today. Hes been gone since 1995. I miss him and his house, and the big garden he grew every summer.
I was wondering the same thing about my grandpa. He’s been gone since 1988. He was born in 1916 and he raised my sister and I. I know he would not be happy in light of the fact that he served this nation in World War II in Germany. My dad’s dad was born in 1922 and died in 1999.. he, too, was a World War II veteran who served as a platoon sergeant in the Philippines. He was a lifelong Democrat, and I know for a fact that he would not be one today. Especially the way the Democratic Party has gone headlong into communism. Both of my grandpa’s were very patriotic and loved this country. I’m 51 years old and I still love and miss them both so very much.
There was a real generation gap between my grandparent’s generation and my own generation. That was a good thing. My grandparents didn’t try to fit in with my generation. Today, I’m not sure the generation gap between older and younger adults is as distinct as it was 30 or 40 years ago.

I was very close to my grandpa. He passed my senior year. I was broken. He wasn’t there to see me graduate but I know he was with me. This song makes me cry every time and I am now 52.
I met you both when you came to Eugene and I worked at the Hilton. Took your road manager Mike at the time around the city. He met my parents. I was so so young at the time.
My grandpa walked me down the wedding isle. I was living in SCarolina when I got the phone call that he had been called home. With a young child in my arms. I took my first airplane trip. Back home to Indiana and my farewells to my wonderful grandpa. I miss him.
my grandpa is getting tired... i visited him and was with him the entire day playing music for him, the songs he showed me... i dont want to sound selfish because i know hes tired but i dont want him to go yet. he's my hero, i was crying all day and im just reluctant to lose my only grandpa. i am so blessed to be his grandson.
When it's his time, just thnk of all the beautiful memories you have to hold on too. I never had a grandpa's but I wished they had been alive in my time. But had great memories of my Grandma & when I think of her the tears fall like yesterday who has been dead over 50 yrs. It will be hard but Jesus will give you the comfort & strength you will need ,when that times comes. In the meantime enjoy every moment with him. God be with you & him. Wish I could give you a hug. My Grandpa passed away in January of this year. I miss him so much. What great memories we all had. I'm glad my mom had him as long as she did. I pray her heart find comfort and peace. Miss you, Welo!

My cousins played this at my grandpa's funeral and sang it. It tears me apart thinking about him, missing him. I'd give anything to have him around again. Love your loved ones while you still have them.

I was just talking to my mom this past weekend about how I feel my Grandpa is with me every time I hear this song come on my playlist.. we talked about how much it meant to her as well.. it breaks my heart into so many pieces to hear the passing of a legend as Naomi Judd, who was a staple to my life growing up and getting me through hard times.. it breaks me even more to know she was suffering and we didn’t know. Rest In Peace 🙏
I'm in shock! I just found out, and needed to come to TH-cam to watch my 3 favorite songs "Love Can Build a Bridge", "Mama He's Crazy", and "Grandpa"! She was such a beautiful woman, even 3 weeks ago, when she sang at the CMT Music Awards, you'd never know she was 76! She/they have the voice of an Angel. Not sure how one can die of mental illness...I just hope she didn't end her life.
Wow!!! this is such a beautiful song. I think of my mother when I listen to the words. Even when she was broken, she was always an eagle. Keep soaring mom
I was 5 When My Grandpa Died I Still Miss Him Dearly 1976 I Steal Remember Him Like It Was Yesterday His Voice. I Feel He's Watching Over Me Still Grandpa Joseph Galterio ❤❤❤❤❤
Every time them tears fall 😭 I have lots of new paw paw too we cry together and Im their outsider putting fear in all while they hide the tears so they can stay tuff when they get my special made human suits to come in
Just heard about Naomi passing away and had to hear this song. Rest In Peace beautiful lady. Your music and your legend will forever live on in the hearts of many. 🙏❤️
I miss my grandpa so much🥺💔 This song hurt when I was 4 or 5 when great grandpa passed and momma would sing it for him... but my god, it hurts even more when I think about my grandpa... I miss you so much💔 He didn't have to take care of me like he did, but he went above and beyond. If heaven is real, he's hanging out with the saints❤ I miss you
Rest in Heavenly peace ✌️🕊️ to you Naomi Judd I'm sorry you took your own life and were in so much pain I've had my nephew do the same thing about 8 months ago .it's not an easy process on the family you leave behind. My thoughts and prayers are with your daughters as well as your husband . Mental Health is a terrible thing believe me I know I suffer from it as well . You an your daughter were going to be inducted into the country hall of fame on Sunday and you both were getting ready to tour again. Now your at peace
She took her own life? OH NO! Maybe singing again at the Country Music Awards, and being inducted into the Hall of Fame soon, was just too much for her? I'm reading everywhere that she died of mental illness, and I was thinking, you don't die of mental illness, unless you do it to yourself, and if this is true, this is a Great Tragedy!
@@lisamarie5918 that is just a nice way of putting it she suffered alot of depression I should know I suffer from it myself . That's what suicide is it's apart of mental illness I don't know what got to her but your mind plays tricks on you thinking u aren't good enough or your family is better off without you it's like a devil's playground in your mind but the people who commit suicide don't think rationally. Google it if you don't believe me. While your at it Google if she took her own life it will tell you
This is what we NEED to get back to! The good old days. The very first line is so profound, especially NOW. We are on a brink human history has never seen. Can we go back to this time? Bittersweet. Its like we've given up the sweet for bitter. God bless the US and be with us as we go through all of this.
You know I've been asked so many times what my favorite song is but I never really had a straight and solid answer till now. I'm homeless and only 37 but this song hits home. The good old days when family acted like family and a community was a community. It wasn't all good and some things were tough, but, it Just makes you wish you could turn back time and stay living in the Old days don't it? My grandfather was a person who was very significant in my life because he set a love of hugs in me be. Even though I only saw him twice or so a year I always knew that he would be waiting with open arms to give a hug when I did.
You are most certainly not already a ghost. There might be problems weighing your inner strength down but you can find the power somewhere (best bet is Jesus) but you can find it. You can be those things “grandpa” talked about to anyone. The only way to turn the clock back is to turn around yourself and walk right back to the problems that got you where you are and fix them. You’re on this earth for a reason and in your words it’s easy to see you have strong character. God bless you friend.
@@stuartewoldt1513 I'm already with Jesus. That's the only reason I'm not already dead. Trust me when I say life is hard right now. I'm homeless first, second I wake up at 3 am to spend 4 hours walking to get into town and catch a ride with a coworker to a back breaking laborous job after which I get to spend 4 hours walking back to sleep on the ground outside. And if I want to do anything like take a shower laundry etc I'm not getting back till 12-1 am (leaving me with about three hours sleep). That's not including my too passive nature which makes being around people at all miserable like walking on eggshells and any and all frustration and anger etc is strictly internal never showing. Once more I have a very hard time speaking my mind. So I walk through life sometimes noticed sometimes not at everyone's mercy. Basically like a ghost.

Simple music can make you sing, good music make your soul dance. I have been a fan for some years also simple hig can make you feel better, simple thing can make you happy. I hope my simple hello can make you smile 😃
When this song came out I had a grandpa left and it spoke to me through that lens, now I am, the grandpa and it still works. That is a classic that will last.
If there is anything "positive" you can say about what just happened, at least a whole new generation will be introduced to the Judds' music. Makes you appreciate the purity of their voices and harmonies. The songs were like a story with a simple structure for EZ sing-along. Also, the problem with depression, a "disease" Naomi said she struggled with her entire life will get more attention as well. Thank you, Naomi, for the beautiful music you left with this world 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I sure wish I could go back and listen to my grandpa tell me about the good old days again. I often wonder what his take would be on this current world gone mad. Rest in peace gramps,I miss you.And rest in peace Ms.Naomi.
I miss my dad😢. I’m looking to Jesus’s promise of Resurrection Day. Everything will change then. Accept Jesus Christ folks. That’s the only way to be with loved ones again is in and through Christ.
My parents and grandparents are all gone for a long time now. I used to love their stories when they were growing up back in the 30's and 40's. I'm an old lady now I have no one to tell my stories to.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
The kids now don't appreciate how much fun we had. We didn't have all these videos to staying up late and play with all that I, killing and overturning cars they like
I’m thankful to still have my grandpa. He tells me the same stories every time I see him but I let him tell me if it was like the first time hearing them. I love you grandpa! RIP to everyone’s grandpa.
I lost my Mama when I was 22 and I'm 43 now and you better believe when you loose your mama you loose your best friend she was my everything I miss her so bad love ya mama
RIP "papa" John Barlow. It's been 23 years, and i still miss you. Man, I wish he was here. Life is so hard, and I just know he would be by my side. This song is love ❤️
God has the Perfect Blueprint for Human Life. Fame and Fortune; Material possessions, can Completely fill the Void in So many. We look at amazing Gifts of Talent, and Think These People haven't a care in The World. Even Giving your Life to Christ, Will not be enough, you have to Completely come to the End of yourself, and allow him To Work on Transforming you. I saw the Judds when they first came out. God Gifted for sure.
I absolutely love this song, my daughter passed in a car accident at the age of 20 . My 18 yr old daughter was also in the accident, thank God she survived with some injuries. Her best friend , also 18 passed too. She left behind a one month old daughter... I would like it if somehow you could put there pictures in the video.
Simple music can make you sing, a simple hug can make you feel, better, simple things can make you happy, I hope my simple hello will put a smile on your face..😊😊
My mom loved this song. I remember being 7 or 8, sleeping upstairs in my bedroom; we lived in upstate NY, and hearing her play it at night, snapping her fingers with a mixed drink. I love you forever, Mommy. Tonya Martin Jackson, RIP 5/11/2023. We are missing you. 🙏💔
I wish I had asked my grandpa so many more questions about his life than he ever volunteered to tell. He left this world 32 years ago today, and i still think about him every single day. I miss him so so so much! ❤AJB❤
This reminds me of my grandfather, I played it for him when it first came out. He told me so many things from when he was young, and now that I am myself a grandfather it hits harder. This world is going crazier more and more every day. Rest In Peace Miss Judd, may the lord keep you.
We (the numerous grandchildren) of our beloved, late grandfather, Joseph E. Tapaha, had played this song, “Grandpa” as a tribute to our amazing, selfless, ever loving cheii (grandfather in Navajo) at his funeral. A golden heart stopped beating on September 15, 2003. He had raised most of his older grandchildren as our daddies left our mothers. My mother went back to school and received a college degree in Early Childhood education so she took us kids and moved back out of Cheii and grandma’s house but I will be eternally grateful for what my grandfather has done for my siblings and I. He was such a generous man with a very big heart!♥️ He had been working on the railroad since he was 16 and his marriage to my grandmother was arranged. I loved hearing the story of how their parents put them together. So many stories I could tell about him…gosh, I miss him so much. Ha’shin’neh shí cheíí, nitsá’go Ayóó anííníshní (My beloved grandfather, I love you very much)❣️🤍👼🏻🕊
This song takes me back to the good old days of driving around listening to the Judd's on cassette with my mom as a child. I can even remember the interior of the car and I'm now in my 40s. Nothing takes you back like a good song.
Momma you steered! Me in the right direction I follow today! You showed me guidance along with Costa memories will never disappear miss u both! See u soon love you and miss unbelievable!
I grew up with this masterpiece and embraced it, from my heart, because my family was dysfunctional at best! Still family values and bonds mean the world to me, even today. All my folks are gone, but I'm lost in nostalgia and reminiscing about the good old days. Rest easy 'mama' Judd, because memories never go away and thank you for giving me this fantastic memory!
Best song ever... I actually heard it the first time on the radio while sleeping as my sister drove us down to my grandfather's funeral (I worked the night shift) and woke up crying. As soon as we got into town, we got a cassette player and got the tape. I received many blessings for playing that song after the funeral!
This song is a very beautiful and a reminder of when things used to be respected and not rejected . I have watched the Judds ever since they started performing on TV. They are a brilliant Mother and Daughter team. When I was young my grandpa would as my mother to sing with my 2 sisters and my brother for him. Which we did and he would pick the song for us to sing . Those were the good ole days indeed. Now it's the new generation that DOSENT even know how to play outside , the games that we used to play. Like kick the can or tag you're it . Just anything to be out doors and have fun . But , most of the time it's not safe anymore. Things have changed alot since way back when . Thank you to my best friend for this beautiful video and song of the JUDDS. GOD BLESS THEM AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD. MY LOVE TO ALL HAVE A GOOD NIGHT ! LOVE , PEACE AND JOY TO ALL GOD BE WITH YOU ALL TOO
@@savannahmendez3964 yep. so sorry to hear this news. this song is more relevant now than it was when it was released. i sure miss my grandparents. and parents.
The problem is that all of what is mentioned actually did happen. And has happened throughout time. It has not changed. We just wish that it was an ideal like this.
Nothing was bigger or better than the Judd’s era, life was good and there music was the icing on the cake of life, a Saturday with a record playing all through the house ….
So sad to hear about the death of Naomi Judd today. I loved her and Wynnona s' songs, and music for decades now. A great loss to the world of music. My deepest condolences to her family. God bless you. Rest in Peace Naomi Judd!
At 41 years of age singing this now in my life I feel so much strength from my heart and soul when the words slide off my tongue, never meeting my dad or grandpa raised by my momma and strong woman in my family also raised as a choir singer from 5th grade, in southwest Detroit this country girl at heart raised in the ruff streets of the city due to opportunity of my parents brought me to this comment with such pride!!!!!
Grew up on this song. Makes me think back on the time my Mom and I sang it at a family reunion gathering when I was 9 or 10 years old. How my Grandpa's face lit up when he heard and watched us. I'll never forget how the tearful look on his face made him choke up. He was proud. Miss u Grandpa ♾️
I am old as dirt! Lol! I am proud to have two grandpas that I adored! They were saved and I pray I make it to heaven to be with Jesus and my grandpas!!!! I am old now and barely hanging in but sure did love both of my grandpas! They were angels! Thank you Jesus for my grandpas and this song to remember them by! 🙏🙏♥️♥️Marcie Ainsworth Sellers
There is s guy who did a cover song of this and its does not bring the same meaning. My adopted grandpa was an amazing person. I remember sitting down listening to him talk. This song makes me think of him and it has more meaning coming from them.
This song came on the radio and listening to the lyrics about people falling in love to stay makes me wonder where this world is headed based on people who break up after one or two disagreements

@@lisamarie5918 yes she did take her own life sorry to say
RIP Naomi! My condolences go to Wynonna and Ashley! I've been a fan since the 1980's and the music will never die.
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Hello how are you doing today I hope you are having a good weekend 😊
Hi
Wow!!! this is such a beautiful song. I think of my mother when I listen to the words. Even when she was broken, she was always an eagle. Keep soaring mom

R.I.P. Naomi. I have always loved this song. Prayers for The Judd family and friends. God bless you Naomi. Fly to the angel's. ✝️
I just heard she passed away. One of the greatest.
@@pamalford8319 Yes she was. I agree. Sad day for country music.
I’m here in July 2024 listening w/ tears in my eyes remembering my beloved Mum💜and her Dad, my Grandpa💜
I cannot listen to this song without crying.
Same 🥲🥲🥲
It shows that you have a heart ❤️😭 the world needs more people to show love to each other 🤘🏼💕
If you still have the privilege to talk to your grandparents, make time for them. They are walking history books.
Just read about Naomi passing too. Rest In Peace you will be with us forever 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I'm in shock.
I had to hear it, too. RIP beautiful lady. 🙏💗
That's why I had to play this too
Yep, we are reliving the past when someone passes away.
The good old days where good that's for sure
I miss my grandpa so much🥺💔 This song hurt when I was 4 or 5 when great grandpa passed and momma would sing it for him... but my god, it hurts even more when I think about my grandpa... I miss you so much💔 He didn't have to take care of me like he did, but he went above and beyond. If heaven is real, he's hanging out with the saints❤ I miss you
Hello Jessica 💐🌹
Jessica, heaven is very real. It's safe for you to believe in heaven.
I look forward to meeting you there.
Which Sunday? Today’s Sunday
@@MsFeliciaG Yes but I think it was filmed on April 11th not sure but it's supposed to air tonight on CBS or Paramount plus
@@christinarudy1277 Thank you.
Reminds me of my grandpa. Loving Christan man. Veteran and pipefitter.
Good morning beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful day.
I’m an 73 year old grandpa with grandchildren and a great granddaughter! I hope they hear my stories.
7 4:11
Tell them anyway. They will cherish them.
Sometimes i feel like one because of how i act. But it's just a gifted talent to me.
When you tell them am important story, say "remember this. It's important". It works!
They will. And when they get older they will tell them again.
I'm 56 and I miss my grandfather so much.❤️💯
You know I've been asked so many times what my favorite song is but I never really had a straight and solid answer till now.
I agree
God loves you
You are most certainly not already a ghost.
@@trymeimalreadyaghost1456 I’ve been down and out but from this post looks like your doing what you need to too survive.. I wish you was in my home town because I would help.. I don’t know your situation but I came from the bottom as well family slowly starts coming around, I look at it as if you didn’t want me at my worst why now?? But could’ve been my fault so I have to slowly build these relationships back!! Good luck your not such a ghost don’t look at your self like this.. keep working and show everyone that has turned their backs YOU MADE air because if you stay true to your self you’ll be able to show them you came from the bottom but you wasn’t defeated in the end!!!! Good luck and god bless you
So many country icons have passed on into heaven. I’m glad we can still hear them sing

Amen to that.
2024 ❤❤❤ and forever more.
When this song came out I had a grandpa left and it spoke to me through that lens, now I am, the grandpa and it still works. That is a classic that will last.
My grandpa passed away a year ago and he would play country western songs and this was one of them ❤
I’m so sorry to hear that. Losing a grandpa is unbelievably hard
2024 and this song is a relic that takes any of us back to better times. More relatable now than ever before.
Thank you, Naomi, for the beautiful music you left with this world 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yeah all can give they taking every breath
I sure wish I could go back and listen to my grandpa tell me about the good old days again. I often wonder what his take would be on this current world gone mad. Rest in peace gramps,I miss you.And rest in peace Ms.Naomi.

Of course you do. You have the whole world who is willing to listen/read your stories.

Hey Brian 👋
Woke up Thinking about Naomi . She's not in any pain anymore. I hope her daughters and husband are healing. And know we love them all.
He was such a generous man with a very big heart!♥️
He had been working on the railroad since he was 16 and his marriage to my grandmother was arranged. I loved hearing the story of how their parents put them together.
So many stories I could tell about him…gosh, I miss him so much.
Ha’shin’neh shí cheíí, nitsá’go Ayóó anííníshní (My beloved grandfather, I love you very much)❣️🤍👼🏻🕊
Hey, how’s your week going so far?
This song takes me back to the good old days of driving around listening to the Judd's on cassette with my mom as a child. I can even remember the interior of the car and I'm now in my 40s. Nothing takes you back like a good song.
Im 25 years old also im just a freshly converted christian i consider this song a gem now! This is good old music right here!
That's wonderful news and may God bless you now and always! 🙏
RIP, Naomi. Thank you for the lasting memories.

This world is truly changing fast even since this song was recorded..
Beautiful. I heard a women singing this song and it brought back so many memories. I searched for it right away. Happy I found this gem 💎.
This song brings tears to My eyes.
Hey Fred 👋
Best song ever... I actually heard it the first time on the radio while sleeping as my sister drove us down to my grandfather's funeral (I worked the night shift) and woke up crying. As soon as we got into town, we got a cassette player and got the tape. I received many blessings for playing that song after the funeral!
This song is a very beautiful and a reminder of when things used to be
respected and not rejected .
But , most of the time
it's not safe anymore. Things have changed alot since way back when .
Thank you to my best friend for this beautiful video and song of the JUDDS. GOD BLESS THEM AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD.
MY LOVE TO ALL
HAVE A GOOD NIGHT !
LOVE , PEACE AND JOY TO ALL
GOD BE WITH YOU ALL TOO

The problem is that all of what is mentioned actually did happen. And has happened throughout time. It has not changed. We just wish that it was an ideal like this.
Nothing was bigger or better than the Judd’s era, life was good and there music was the icing on the cake of life, a Saturday with a record playing all through the house ….
Was born way after her time...but God knows how I find music from this Era beyond beautiful & impact full ❤
So sad to hear about the death of Naomi Judd today. I loved her and Wynnona s' songs, and music for decades now. A great loss to the world of music. My deepest condolences to her family. God bless you. Rest in Peace Naomi Judd!
A great angel went back to God😞😞
