If you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
To watch your broken dreams

This is one of my dad's favorite songs and he swore he wasn't country. He passed a couple days ago and I'll never forget us singing this song in living room or in the car. Or when he would open the door when this was playing just to sing it with me. rest in peace dad I miss you and I love you ❤ I never stop thinking about you

I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my cousin almost a year ago to suicidal depression
One of the best country songs ever written. It is literally perfect.
Literally cryin' in my beer(s).
Except they didn't say nothin' about momma, trucks, jail, dogs, or getting drunk....
Perfect and completely heartfelt and whole❤
Agreed .
@@HardPen-jj5nlhahaha . And I just listened to that song .
As a black man who grew up on rap and rnb I can say this song made me respect country music

As a mixed man I’ve grown up on rap and& R&b most my life but I love country that’s awesome tho but I have to be in certain mood to listens to country I love all music
Fuck yeah dude love to hear that good music is good music
Grew up on rap myself, as a kid in Jersey I always said I'd never listen to country. Well I moved to Texas and I love it now! 🤣
We got plenty more where that comes from keep on listening
Easily a top 10 song ever made in America.
Some would argue it’s top 5.
I would argue with a beer in your hand its number one. Because I have a beer in my hand right now and you can’t tell me any different honestly.

The older you get the more you realize country music fits your life more than any other type of music. This song reminds me of my mommas old red ford expedition she had growing up and would play her country jams and i was always like wtf is this, now here i am. 20-25years later with my own family playin these same old jams in my car, while my kids sing along with some of em.

I used to be a caregiver of an elderly man every summer while I was in college. I put all his CDs on an iPod for him and we would cruise around town everyday listening to it. Every time this one came on, we would both belt it and every time, as it hit the chorus, I could hear his voice break and tears would pour. I never asked him about it, I would just let him cry sing along with me. I always wondered where his mind went to during this song. He made me love this song!
Hello, how are you doing?

When the sun goes down on my side of town
That lonesome feelin' comes to my door
The whole world turns blue
There's a rundown bar 'cross the railroad tracks
I've got a table for two-way in the back
Where I sit alone, and think of losing you
I spend most every night beneath the light
Of a neon moon
Now If you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
To watch your broken dreams dance in and out of the beams
Of a neon moon
I think of two young lovers a-running wild and free
I close my eyes, and sometimes see
You in the shadows of this smoke-filled room
No telling how many tears I've sat here and cried
Or how many lies that I've lied
Telling my poor heart she'll come back someday
Oh, but I'll be alright as long as there's light
From a neon moon
Oh, if you lose your one and only
There's always room here for the lonely
So watch your broken dreams dance in and out of the beams

I shared my bedroom with my older brother up until high school. He used to fall asleep to country music on, like it was his white noise. I can sing ever 90s country song on the charts, half of the songs I honestly don't even know who sings them, but I know every word. I remember my brother had this cd. I used to think rock was so much better. I hear this song now 20 years later and it just hits different. I'm adding this to my list of open mic night songs to sing out in The Bay Area. This cowboy is about to give these hippies a sad country song at the bar, a recipe for a sign along.
I'll never forget...drinkin with my coworkers...good times, laughter, friends. The dancing was amazing...true friends, true love...we truly got each other and would die to save the other. For real...I miss it...
This takes me back to the early 90s at the local county western bar by my house my parents used to go to. They would take me on Sundays that was all ages night. It was amazing those times. I learned how to line dance and all kinds of dances. My favorite part was the slow songs and you would go ask a girl your age to dance. It was truly magical times. I think back to that short period in my life and it brings a tear to my eye.

This song always makes me smile. Takes me back to 1993, my friend and I quit our crappy job and we packed a suitcase each, hopped in the car and headed to Cheyenne WY for Frontier Days. We blasted old country (a lot of Merle and Waylon) all the way there from Salt Lake City. Went to the Cheyenne Club and danced to this a bunch of times with different men who asked. We stayed for the whole time, made a bunch of new friends, saw these guys in concert, and did anything we wanted. My birthday was during it, and my friend told the band. Came back to the whole tabletop covered with drinks. We did our best on them but couldn't finish all of them. Made for a rough next day lol. I miss having those wild and free young days. This song and a few others take me right back though!

Hello how are you doing today?
Hi
camping trips with my dad would always and I mean always atleast once or twice have this song playin, man i sure do miss those days. One time I helped this little boy catch a fish and I didn't realize my dad was watching me crying and he told me I was a good man for that. Something I'll never forget. Still coming back to this song thinking about my dad.
My sister who passed away use to love this song. Every time I hear it it reminds me of her.
I'm so sorry to hear about your sister......This song she loves so much she's letting you know she your angel!!
I lost my brother, in 1980....I know a long time ago, but everyday something comes on that reminds me of him.....he was only 17, I was a year older......I still go to the beach finding seashell, and drift wood.....I have a beach bucket I bring with me to put, and I know he's with me....he loved the beach......He died from the cold water with his best friend...... I'll never forget that phone call from my mom.......You learn to live with this as best as you can......I can't imagine loosing my children, now all grown adults.....I stayed with my parents, and siblings going through this.....I can say I understand how horrible it is loosing a sister or brother......my heart, and prayers are with you!!
Never realized how brilliant this song is until I aged a little. This is a masterpiece. I campfire jam it here and there and everyone loves this song.
The best country is really blues disguised as country.

Yep...Stationary Cha -Cha...what a time....
I remember being so young not understanding this song due to inexperience, youth and ignorance. Now like 30 years later....tons of experience, heartache, lost a few dreams a long the way and picked up new ones - and still have some ignorance I need to weed out of myself. This song just hits different at this stage of my middle age....can't wait to see what this song will mean in another 30.

its funny how country seems silly and simplistic at first but once you go throughh some really tough shit it becomes the saddest most poignant music out there

I wasn't a huge fan of country when I was younger but I definitely have grown to love it. This is a great song in general!
Same here brother, takes a lil life experience to understand the melodies.
I could listen to this song all day long, me and my husband danced to it. That was a song for tht two of us.

An example of the best country music song ever. Great tune, great lyrics. This song would be my number one of my top ten. It has stood the test of time as a classic.
I miss these guys every day now! Such fantastic songs with stories and singing with WAY more feeling than I am hearing now!
This song is pure nostalgia. My childhood man, my childhood 🥺❤️
My Dad was a musician and played in multiple bands all throughout my life and he sang this song at many a gig's. I remember waking up at the wee hours of the morning to songs like this blaring on his sound system after a gig he played that night, when he'd come home having drank too much and got in his feels lol.
I used to hate it as a kid but now I look back fondly on those memories.
My papa passed away from cancer in 2017 💔 I miss him so much.
This one's for you Dad ❤️
It's not the same without you.
I’m so sorry for your loss
Sorry for your loss 😢😢😢🙏🙏🙏😞
Damn. I heard a cover of this today and had to hear the original and just cry. I found my daddy this week after he passed. I needed that cry so bad. Thank you for this song!!!
@Garth Brooks no, I have never seen Brooks and Dunn. I am a hard rocker. I have seen an insane amount just not them or any country except for my two friends that made it in the country world. Bless!
@Ronnie Dunn What’s the deal with people like you pretending to be famous musicians in the comment sections of their songs? I see it a lot now and I just don’t get it. Do you just want to feel important for once in your life or something?
Sorry about the loss of your dad...and where are you from if you don't mind me asking
I feel you girl, my parents listened to this alot, they're still here with us but they're getting old and I'm gonna miss them. This song reminds me of when I was little.
I also just found out that there’s an original lol i heard this song from CAS
This is so beautiful and introspective from the heart. If this doesn't take back in years, nothing will...
Brings back great memories of my days in Texas! ❤
Because of my dad, grew up listening to this song. It makes me remember him. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone here in this neon moon with all of you and your comments about loved ones. Cheers 🍻

A lot of memories stirred up by this tune.
I love everything that Brooks & Dunn has ever done !!❤
I like this song for obvious reasons. My brother, Shane Reinneck and his wife slowdanced on this song at their wedding reception in 1994.She was very good at this and so was my brother, Shane. He was very talented.
Funny you say that. When I was in 6th grade, I went to Garner State Park here Texas for weekend vacation and they have a dance every Saturday night. While I was there I saw a girl from school I know and we danced to this song. Every yr after that in every school dance including prom we would dance to this song. When she got married, during the reception they played this song. Her husband actually got up and grabbed me and said "you're dancing with my wife let's go" it was nice moment.
