- In today's video, I attempt to install a 2015-2022 Kicker VSS SubStage™ SCOCRE15, in my brand new 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, im not sure if it will work since its and whole new interior redesign, I had bought this for my 2016 Colorado that I traded in, watch how I make it work!

Awesome video man, thank you! I just followed this every step of the way and it went flawless. One thing I did do differently is unmounted the amplifier and attached it on the plastic trim panel for ease of messing with the dip switches and installation of a bass controller. Thanks again and looking forward to more of your mods!
Just a FYI, (Sub Thump) makes a wire harness to send speaker leads with out having to cut wires from the kick panel and has built in noise isolation to the subwoofer. Great video 👍🏻

just added the Alpine mini sub to my 23 Colorado Bose. everything works fine. Great video ..sub sounds awesome. Wires in the harness were a different color, but they were clearly wrapped together… leading into the door.

So lemme get this straight. Based on your research.... The GM/Kicker subwoofer system that I bought for my 2020 Colorado Z71 w/Bose...should be compatible with the 2023 Canyon AT4X w/Bose that I am ready to pull the trigger on?

Hey thanks for subscribing! And yes it works and sounds amazing! But keep in mind you will have to cut/modify the storage tray under the rear seat!

You just turn the bass off to the speakers and just the sub?
I’d say my main complaint with my Colorado is the amount of interior plastic that scratches up fairly easily.

Congrats on your new Z71. Got mine 2 weeks ago in Sterling Grey Metalic. Didn't come with owners manual, on back order. Epilx upj hsppen to know what the bulb numbers are for the front turn signal, back turn signal, brake and reverse are. Want to rrplace them with LEDs.
I do not know, but if you go to the Colorado fans forum online, I believe someone has posted that info..

Hey Alex, thanks for the youtube about this. I also have a 2023 Z71 and want to install a Kicker 46HS10 hideaway subwoofer, but no one has any info on how to do it. My Z71 is a non Bose. Called Crutchfield, and they dont have any info either. Any idea on how to install the 46HS10. I've never done a subwoofer install before.
Keep throwing ideas and projects for improvement on our 2023 Canyons and Colo's. I have an Elevation with no bose speakers, what would you do to enhance sound quality and watts? Love this channel.
I would first start out with some new speakers, and at that point, you can see if you need more power than you can go with a four channel amplifier and subwoofer system would be my next addition

Alex, where did you mount your fuse block? Also, I assume I need to repeat the tap in on the passenger side. Any idea what the colors are on passenger side? I found yel/blk and yellow wrapped together on pass side. No other wires were twisted together but I don't want to assume. Thanks for the input and great video man.

The Bose system on these trucks come with a subwoofer and amp. They are located behind the rear seat back.
At least that’s what the dealer told me.
I dont think there is any room behind that back seat for a sub! Your dealer might be wrong..
Thanks for doing the legwork! After seeing your video I just snagged a SCOCRE15 from eBay, however the guy left the wiring harness for it in his old truck. I called Kicker, but they tell me they have discontinued it & don't have any parts. Any chance you could maybe share a photo of the connectors going into the subwoofer & the corresponding wire pinout info so I can make up my own connection? I'm well versed in wiring & electronics, but so far haven't been able to locate a pinout diagram online. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Awesome job. Where did you relocate the tire jack and tools for that?
The tools went back to their original location, I was able to lay the jack on top of the tools, and the rear seat was able to fold down fully!

Hi Alex what is the sound quality of Bose on these trucks? Without the subwoofer ? Is it good ?

It should, you would need a speaker to line lever adapter

Hey your doing great! Can you share more info on the installation kit you used for the sub install like part no. Or detailed pictures please I'm looking to do the same thing. FYI the kicker system is no longer available

the install kit was part of the Kicker sub system kit

Does the Kicker subwoofer come with a controller to play with the gain of the sub?
no it doesn't, that would be cool if it did. But you could install a L Pad on the input wires and make your own.

Alex you mentioned a 700+ page manual that you referenced do you happen to know where I can get one or have a link to it? since I just picked up my 2023 in white (loving it) also subbed ;)

What's that silver control module on the floor? I have a 2021 ZR2 with a JL Stealthbox I was hoping could swap over but probably can't with that thing there.
Do you know if the speaker wire is the same color for the non Bose ones?
I do not! but the speaker wires should be wrapped in that black tape in the kick panel area

What about the jack?
Also… Question - I see you’re connecting the power to a 12v terminal that is ALWAYS ON. Unless there’s something I’m not seeing, connecting it to the terminal you suggest will leave the amp on all the time, continuously drawing power from the battery, even when the truck isn’t running.
Nearly all amplifiers are connected directly to the battery but also use a remote wire to turn on when the stereo turns on. This is likely using the speaker wire high signals as the remote wires to turn the amplifier on. Just a guess. Hope it helps.
Does the polarity of the speaker wires matter?
Ok anybody out there HELP iam installing a Kicker 10 subwoofer in my 2023 AT4X with a bose system, where do I hookup the BLUE Remote Wire coming off the Kicker harness that came with it? Thanks alot

Is there slack on the control module to move and mount somewhere else ?
This sub did not come with any control module, but the wires are plenty long!
Too much work to just add a subwoofer 👎👎
