    I alone have solved this issue. My blood glucose never spikes because I never go more than 30 minutes between cookies. Ever since I started spacing out my 4 dozen cookies a day, I've become so much healthier!
    Mechanistic boogeymen. It all sounds the damn same. Once you learn the sound of it you'll hear it everywhere. These people don't want to talk outcomes because they don't review any data in the first place. They learn 3-5 physiologic processes via YT video and figure they've arrived at novel ideas based on that.

    Not to support this lady, because I straight up think she's a waste of space, but the savoury breakfast thing really works for me, something I've noticed that in last couple of years. I have eggs+veggies+tuna/chicken and I do way better throughout the day when compared to fruit+grains+yogurt, calories being equated. Even with high protein yogurt and casein thrown in the mix. So I've been favouring savoury breakfasts during the week, and do pancakes on Saturday because I'm not a monster.

    • @luisma.6070
      @luisma.6070 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I don't know how people doesn't realize that he's promoting eating junk food whenever you want, and that's really fucked up. Thanks to the Glucose Goddess and Robert Lustig I realized how much sugar I was embedding in my body, results: I could never spend long periods of time doing a demanding task, I felt exhausted all day, irritated, with itching all over my body, bad sleep. As soon as I put sugar aside and started eating healthier and natural carbohydrates, no junk food, all my symptoms have disappeared, every day I wake up in shock to see that I can go through the day without sleep, without needing to eat a snack every two hours, my sleeping time has been fixed, I can sleep 5 hours and feel energetic in the mornings. So I don't know what he's promoting, I don't understand it, his message is not clear, while the people he criticizes are clear in their messages and people comment on how their lives have changed like mine with specific examples.

    Addiction is something like being overly consumed in a habit, doesnt matter if the habit is a good one, it becomes bad. You do want to drop or decrease bad habits and replace them with good ones, but if you are overly focused on one good habit, you are better to focus less on it and eat some sugar, if you dont eat sugar. Too much energy at one sitting is not good, but doesnt matter if you drop either a bit of fat or carb from that meal to drop energy intake, providing you are hitting all your daily essentials

The big breakfast study is an example of biasing more calories for breakfast led to more weight loss vs more calories at night while keeping total daily calories the same. If im recalling correctly more evidence indicates this biasing of calories to breakfast isnt actually better for weight loss but hey theres a mechanism that flies in the face of her charlatanry

    Occam's Razor is an axiom, no different in abstract form from a religious belief. I am not arguing against the use of Occam's Razor, as that choice is a valuation of the individual. I am simply pointing out that refusing to abide by Occam's Razor is not logically wrong. Occam's Razor is chosen by many scientists as a way to distinguish among competing hypotheses. It can be considered a way of axiomatically defining truth rather than as a way to identify truth.

    Honestly, this is a bad video. The vid you use is just her explaining the steps. Not much of the why. When she does explain the process in greater detail, it shows how far off the mark you are. And yes, the spike is a mountain compared to a mole hill when you eat carbs (like a muffin or cereal) right after a fast (break fast) which causes that spike...not just a rise, but a large SPIKE. That's why it's called a spike, not a rise in glucose. A SPIKE. If you eat a keto style breakfast, by lunch that food in the gut, acts as yellow traffic light for glucose digestion, which prevents higher spikes in glucose, which prevents higher spikes insulin, which prevents fast loss when it remains in a constant influx. That's what she is saying. How to lower the viscosity of the body's absorption of glucose because it cannot handle such large amounts coming into the cells at once. Proteins and fats act as a buffer to slow that ATP process down and not overwhelm the system, which has to use insulin to create fat cells to store all the glucose it cant process quickly enough.
    And also, yes carbs cause a greater, quicker response to ghrelin release than fats or protein. That's literally the addiction of eating too many carbs. People who have just eaten, being hungry, who know they dont need to eat, reacting to ghrelin and having no other possible response other than to eat to stop that feeling. Or maybe you know some way to increase leptin immediately without eating. Exercise? Yep, Gluclose goddess promotes this after eating. Calf raises, going for a work, get moving. She's right. It works.

      As far as I know carbs are the best ghrelin suppresant. Do you have any citations that support your claims? If so please post them so I can educate myself

      Eating a balanced meal and doing exercise works. Shocking discovery right there. Couldn't possibly be calories, nope. You're talking about all these mechanics that don't even need to be verified because there's no difference in outcomes depending on the style of consumption, so grifter goddess is simply wrong.

    Dear Dr. Norton, wow! Again a banger! Thank you so much for your insights. Love the break down. I really don't get why she is still on podcast if she is clearly talking bs! Podcasters should start being more responsible and think about which people to invite to their episodes. I'd rather listen to you all day than to nonsense! Since I am a scientist but not in the field of nutrition and exercise, I really love to learn from these disciplines and educate myself. Thanks again and looking forward for more!

    God what holes do they always come out of? It's almost like >90% of the influencers that get a stage on podcasts and draw most attention completely lack proper scientific language, including nuance, context, real-life application for real people and so forth. It is sooo disturbing, I hate it. And I despise those podcasters who let quacks say whatever the f**k they want, never criticize them appropriately and never ask for resources.
