I love gunlance, among my favourite weapon concepts in the game, especially Normal type. My main problem is that against the more aggressive monsters I never know how to identify when I can safely pull off a full burst so I end up just sat behind my shield and gradually poking the monster to death over 25-30 minutes 😂
For anyone wanting to use wide and normal, I recommend shaver jewel and mind's eye. Bouncing your melee hits is pretty annoying especially when hunting rajang lol and you lose quite a lot of sharpness really fast.
Shaver is amazing but mind's eye is a wasted slot, if you bounce off your attacks that means you shouldn't be hitting that spot. Also gunlance shells never bounce so you can just shell, quick reload, slam into full burst. That combo never bounces in case you hit the wrong spot.
Love the vids man keep it up. I'm a switch axe user but your guide videos make me wanna play the other weapons. I don't have to think too much about the builds since you've figured them out for me
My Long Gunlance build is my primary WR build. Safi + jewel IV, Long Gunlance with +5 artillery, Focus 3, Capacity Boost, wide range 5, satiated 3, mushroom 3, speed eat 3. Quick Sheath 3. Guard up and Guard 5. I eat for Bombardier and I feel like my damage is still pretty decent when compared to an actual DPS set. Prior to Fatalis armor, I had Tigrex on Safi which allowed for Zorah +3 and Tigrex +3. It's a shame Long 7 doesn't exist.
So excited to see how they adapt gunlance in wilds, hated it in MHFU, kinda enjoyed it in GU, really got into it in world, favourite weapon ever in sunbreak.
I wish they buff it and add elemental shelling and return the absurd amount of Iframes of World and the mobility of Rise with Blast dash. It would be make Gunlance an actual good weapon to use if they do that.
Over 800 hours and having the consumate gunlance as my most used weapon.... It wasnt until i saw this damn video that I realized the focus charm could help long type lances XHARGE up their friggin charge shot. Bless the mh community and bless mh
Is there a setting I missed that makes the shinies pop up that icon, or is that a mod? Either way, let me know; noticing the drops can be a pain at times!

Jumping overhead smash is quickest full burst opener

Can’t wait to play iceborne again once I have a PS5 (PS4 load times kinda killed my drive for World when it released but that’ll change soon 😌)
Yeah load times are a non-issue for PS5, its a blessing.

I have 120 hours in this game so far and it wasn't until about hour 80 that I even learned charge shells existed LOL
