Epoxy Dirty Pour Technique On Custom Countertops Tutorial | DIY Countertop Remodel Ideas

The colors used were a white base. Silver, black, coffee & brass for the dirty pour.

The process! 👇👇
THE SUBSTRATE
Prepping the surface of the countertops is easy. Most surfaces just need sanded (80-100 Grit) then wiped clean. Granite and Marble will need the sealer removed. Tile will need the grout lines filled with Bondo and sanded smooth before applying our Countertop Kits.
EPOXY PRIMER COAT
Priming the Countertops is simple and fast. Mix your pre-measured primer then dip and roll the pigmented primer across the surface until the countertop surface is completely covered. Wait 1 hr. (or until tacky and not coming off to the touch) and start applying the Base Coat.
METALLIC EPOXY COAT
There are so many different applications for our metallic epoxy coat. In this video we show you the dirty pour technique. When you place your order you'll receive step by step tutorial videos that will show you how to apply this part depending on the look you're going for!
HIGH WEAR TOP COAT
We offer 2 different Performance Engineered Top Coats. Glaze Coat is our High Build Top Coat that lays out like glass and adds depth to the Countertop. The Urethane Top Coat comes with the option to have a High Gloss or Matte finish. It needs to be rolled out super thin and leaves a minor texture on the countertop. You apply it within 24 hrs. of installing your Countertop Kit

What kind of epoxy ia that?
Can I apply the resin with a spray gun?

I liked it glossy too. It doesn't detract from the colours and patterns, but for me, it looked better glossy.

I agree. But it looks like it was put in a medical supply office or something. Extremely high gloss work surfaces under bright LED or fluorescent lighting is a bit obnoxious. I'm guessing that's why they chose to dull it a bit. And add some texture.
You also don't have to worry about fingerprints when it isn't super high gloss.
I stayed up all night watching these videos cause I finally know what I want to do with my ugly concrete floor! I'm obsessed. And IN this video I finally found the exact color scheme I need. Yay!
They have way better concrete floor coverings that are more durable

This pattern you did here is absolutely incredibly beautiful. I love the consistency of the natural pattern look you were going for. The way the pattern continues on the edge of it looks like it was suppose to be like that. Great presentation!

I thought I would hate this in matte after how beautiful it looked high-gloss, however it still looks amazing! so good!
We have 3 different top coat options. Glaze coat is our super high gloss top coat that lays out glass smooth just like the metallic epoxy coat. Our WB Urethane comes in high gloss and leaves a minor texture and we also have a WB Urethane that’s a Matte/Satin finish.

Our WB Urethane comes in high gloss and leaves a minor texture and we also have a WB Urethane that’s a Matte/Satin finish. So you can achieve two different looks.

What's the drying time of the epoxy before applying the matt finish and 4. What's the complete drying time for the matt coat until the counter is usable? Thanks...
Robert, the dirty pour kits cost $661 and cover 50 sq. ft. After you apply the epoxy you wait one day then apply the urethane top coat. The full cure time for the epoxy is seven days. Thanks for watching the video

If and when the matte (or gloss) topcoat gets damaged or worn, what's the remedy? Will another coat stick?

I'm doing the top of a TV stand with this. After a bureau,,the top and drawers. Possibilities are endless!!
Can this be applied directly to the countertop I have or does it need the primer liquid?
Great looking pour, curious, how do you get rid of the drips that form on the bottom of the counter edge after it cures and is done running down ? Thankyou
Sanding
Do not sand. As it starts to dry it will keep dripping and he think any sticky. Take a plastic knife or paint stick or gloves finger and scrape it. I did this about every 30 minutes until it was dry enough to stop running and dripping. It will seal the bottom edge and you won’t have to sand it.
Amazing look and finish. The video makes want to watch it to the very end. The dirty pour is so cool, it looks like it was cut right out of a slab of stone!

Beautiful work! Just a suggestion but if you buy disposable heavy duty pastry piping bags, you can have well controlled pour, with even more detail. Get some off Amazon, probably 20oz size would work but they have larger. Fantastic coatings, nice job!
