The Bloodsky Massacre is pretty sick because it says "whenever *A* berserker attacks this turn" instead of "one or more", so you could draw maybe two or three cards off this one saga if you're in berserkers
For Raven Wings, I know there's Crippling Fear, where you chose a creature type, and all creatures that aren't the chosen type get -3/-3 until end of turn.
So I’m the direct opposite; I always want the printed in Japan cards & lament when Southern Hobby gives my LGS the US printed cards when they get their restock.
For the snow lands I know there are Blue decks in Pauper that use them and because of that other Blue decks will also run them even if they dont need them just for the information warfare
I feel you on the Draugr Recruiter. I remember Dreadhorde Taskmaster in War of the Spark, and how much I wanted it to be good, but it's just... too slow, too clunky and too expensive for it to really matter
Some of the demand for the Snow-Covered Island-historically, at least-was the Pioneer mono-blue Spirits deck wanting an entire manabase of them for Faceless Haven.
I think Struggle for Skemfar is being slept on here - I do like the blue cards but green was a very strong color in the format and Struggle was a premium pick. I definitely take it over Clarion Spirit; white was always a little disappointing for me and double-spelling wasn't something you did often enough to make it worthwhile.
Foretell should have been implemented like Plot, so that Plot could be implemented like Foretell. Yes that wouldn't work with the double-spell theme of OTJ, but flavor-wise it would have worked so much better. * Foretelling is not much of a prophesy if you just say _"SOMETHING_ will happen" not a specific thing. So a Foretell should be face-up * Plotting a heist is best accomplished when the people you're heisting don't know your plan. So a plot really should be face-down.
You can swap it pretty easily, flavor wise. Foretelling is "I have foretold what my opponent will do and have prepared a response in advance," and Plotting is "Now, I shall tell you my evil scheme, hero!"
In westerns, everyone knows what the plot is. "The O'Malley brothers are planning to rob the bank." "Big Bill broke outta jail and is heading for town." "Word is the gang is planning to hit the train next week."
"Threaten to trade"? It's got first strike. It ain't trading with anything that doesn't have first strike, double strike or more than 3 toughness so long as you got the mana open, at which point it wouldn't trade at all, but that's on you for making the attack. lol
I am baffled you do not like cards printed in Japan. Stuff made in the US always feels so low quality and smells so chemical right out of the pack imho I'd trade made in US for made in Europe/Japan any day.
@@LRRMTG Ah, that might be the case - they have been experimenting quite a lot (sadly not for the best quality) with card stock more or less since Eldraine 1. Cheers!

Lovisa, cold eyes says hello! Oops, just saw it's red black. Maybe lovisa in the 99
I had a very short-lived standard berserkers deck on arena thanks to bloodsky massacre. It’s a good card but there wasn’t enough support.
If only it was tied to the token or saga so it worked with Isshin…
on the raven wings: putting on wings and turning into a bird is something Loki does
For Raven Wings, I know there's Crippling Fear, where you chose a creature type, and all creatures that aren't the chosen type get -3/-3 until end of turn.
guys we broke the 2c card
7:28 The correct pun is "if you catch my drift", as it is obliquely reference snowdrifts
I thought he was going to go with "... for those in the snow." (C.f. "... for those in the know.")
Draft booster were set up differently depending where it came from. Fat pack, booster box, prerelease box. They were all sorted differently.
The slow zoom in on The Bloodsky Massacre happening each time Graham read a chapter was *chef's kiss*
All flavor texts of creatures with Boast are their punchlines for "boasting" when they attack.
Neat little Vorthos detail.
Fitting for a pack from the set traversing many realms to be so well traveled
Wait i didn't know there were Kaldheim draft archetypes outside of five color snow
So I’m the direct opposite; I always want the printed in Japan cards & lament when Southern Hobby gives my LGS the US printed cards when they get their restock.
The Bloodsky Massacre is such great art to me! I do not as a rule run black and red decks, but I want to make a tattoo themed one now!
Why the rule?
those elves on Struggle for Skimfar are *definitely* about to kiss.
3:45 Knew it.
I was taking a hiatus from magic when this set came out and of all the sets released in those ~2 years I most wish I had played this one
Yeah, I'm a bird, caw-caw! I also don't die to this wrath!
For the snow lands I know there are Blue decks in Pauper that use them and because of that other Blue decks will also run them even if they dont need them just for the information warfare
Plot is greater than foretell
Delightful as always!

What a world we live in where a non-foil land is more valuable than a foil one.
The non-foil ones don't curl into uselessness
@@jspencer91 Also a lot of foils of commons now come in collector boosters.
Islands are used in *good* decks. 😋
I love this set but I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices that the cards in it do not feel good to hold.
Definitely depends on where they were made. I just opened a bunch and they were way better than my OTJ pre release.
I opened about 15 boosters of Kaldheim and opened three Bloodsky Massacre. It wasnt until the third one that I realized it was not Bloody Massacre.
Some of the demand for the Snow-Covered Island-historically, at least-was the Pioneer mono-blue Spirits deck wanting an entire manabase of them for Faceless Haven.
And for Ascendant Spirit, which is both a spirit and "levels up" with snow mana.
Liebe dieses Format ❤

Both Fortell and Plot were used for Double Spell archetypes. WB in Kaldheim and UR in OTJ.
I think saying we'll cut this is a one way street to something not getting cut :D
Ohhh, it's pronounced "Blood Sky." I guess that makes sense. I was thinking it was more of a Swedish Chef word.
Snow mana is generated by snow permanents... snerwmants if you will
Crack! A! Pack!
Awooo!
Yay Grahamcrackers! Pick the Massacre and the Wings and play (My love for you is like a truck) Birdserker?
graham do you think u might make a new version of bear force after MH3 or Bloomburrow?
"Threaten to trade"? It's got first strike. It ain't trading with anything that doesn't have first strike, double strike or more than 3 toughness so long as you got the mana open, at which point it wouldn't trade at all, but that's on you for making the attack. lol
You can just do it
If I had a dollar for every time I watched a video where someone said "We'll cut this" I would have multiple dollars. Not many, but multiple.
I had a pun about the wings card, but it's not worth raven about.
I am baffled you do not like cards printed in Japan. Stuff made in the US always feels so low quality and smells so chemical right out of the pack imho
I'd trade made in US for made in Europe/Japan any day.
I think these were not the norm.

I feel like foretell is a weird name for a mechanic because you are planning on doing the thing you are foretelling
Yes, that is how you establish a reputation as a great oracle. You predict things, and then make sure those things happen.
flavor-wise plot and foretell are backwards.
