Beautiful city, but ruined by the bad drivers. Government of India needs to bring ‘driver retraining’ to all drivers across India. If this country wants to be developed then driver discipline must improve for safety of other drivers and pedestrians!
When wide road is constructed, must make provision for metro or mono train in the middle of the road so that petrol diesel consumption is reduced to avoid pollution.

In Gujarat I guess no one follow traffic laws. For example no helmets, wrong side driving both are in Ahmedabad and surat. Even they do in front of traffic police. In india lot's of pedestrians have to walk on road why? no proper infrastructure for pedestrians.

But as a first step, Surat should remove all the sand from the road and make all the traffic lights work and enforce traffic discipline with cameras. No point growing really fast if the end result is a zoo and not a livable city.
